On 04/16/2026, while driving, vehicle received and completed a software/firmware OTA update. A second update completion prompt was received while still in motion. Shortly after, while stopped at a traffic light, the auto-start/stop system re-engaged and the vehicle appeared to restart normally. Upon stopping to refuel, remote key fob auto-start failed to respond. Vehicle was started manually and
... driven to the next location. On arrival, remote key fob auto-start failed again. Used interior push-to-start — vehicle started but displayed an active Check Engine Light. Connected vehicle app diagnostic scan of the Engine and Transmission System returned two WARNING flags requiring service: - Transmission System — Schedule Service Now - Engine Electrical System including Charging and Starting System — Schedule Service Now All other scanned systems (Air Induction, Fuel Management, Engine Cooling, Throttle Control, Ignition, Variable Valve Timing, 4WD, Displacement on Demand) returned OK. Both faults appeared immediately following the OTA update. Remote start failure at two consecutive locations and the Check Engine Light activation are directly correlated in timing with the update applied on 04/16/2026. No fault codes have been pulled yet — dealership service appointment pending. This is not the first instance of an issue after updates are applied, between the infotainment system blacking out, rear camera or ADAS not functioning as well as sporadic crackling sound almost like electricity arcing in the engine compartment near the steering columnRead more

The manufacturer has indicated that a remedy is available; however, the dealership I contacted is refusing to perform recall repairs on weekends and is only offering an appointment more than a month out (scheduled for May 4th). Given that this is a safety-related recall affecting rear visibility, this delay is unreasonable and places me at continued risk while operating the vehicle. I rely on my vehicle daily and should not be required to wait an extended period for a safety recall repair that is already available. Additionally, limiting recall repairs to weekday-only appointments creates an unnecessary barrier for consumers who work standard business hours. I am requesting that this issue be reviewed, and that appropriate action be taken to ensure dealerships are providing timely access to safety recall repairs, especially when the defect impacts vehicle safety. The affected component appears to be the rear seat / seat track recall system. I took my Toyota vehicle to the dealership / repair center in approximately October 2025 for recall-related repair, and the vehicle was then kept there for months. During that time, I was deprived of the use of the vehicle while continuing to make lease payments. I repeatedly contacted the repair center for updates but
... was not provided a clear repair completion date. Toyota and the dealership later claimed that the recall had been repaired only after the stated 60-day buyback review period had expired, yet NHTSA’s VIN lookup still showed the same recall as unrepaired for my vehicle. No credible current documentation was provided showing the exact recall repair completion date or the work performed. Under these circumstances, I am not comfortable accepting return of the vehicle. My children ride in the rear seat, and because this recall involves the seat / seat track area, I cannot reasonably be expected to trust the vehicle without clear proof that the recall repair was properly completed. I have also experienced a serious accident in the past, which makes this issue even more concerning to me. At this point, I have lost confidence in Toyota’s handling of this matter. I am seeking repurchase of the vehicle and fair final resolution.Read more

Around Feb 15, 2026, at ~85,000 miles, the oil pressure warning light began illuminating at idle and extinguishing above idle speed. The vehicle had also been experiencing intermittent hard starts and occasional shuddering at idle — symptoms too subtle for a typical owner to connect to imminent engine failure. An independent mechanic performed a manual oil pressure test: 4 PSI (Hyundai minimum s
... pec is 13 PSI). The authorized dealer confirmed 6 PSI and found metal shavings in the oil pan — the signature of connecting rod bearing wear documented in Theta II GDI engine failures. Dealer recommended full engine replacement ($8,500). Vehicle has been inoperable at the dealer since Feb 19, 2026. SAFETY CONCERN: At 4 PSI with metal debris in the oil system, this engine was at imminent risk of catastrophic seizure. I avoided highway driving after the warning appeared (max 50 mph, city streets only). Had the engine seized at highway speed, loss of power steering and brake vacuum assist would have created serious crash risk. The symptom profile — warning only at idle, clearing at speed, no knocking, no check engine light — is the pattern that puts less-vigilant drivers at risk of seizure at highway speed with no warning. KNOWN DEFECT: The 2.4L G4KJ Theta II GDI is identical to the engine subject to a $210M NHTSA civil penalty (2020), multiple recalls, and a ~$1.3B class action settlement extending lifetime warranties through MY 2019. The 2020 uses the same engine but was excluded. My failure mode is textbook Theta II. Hyundai Service Campaign 9C2 (ECU update for 2019-2020 Theta II, issued Nov 2025) was incomplete on this vehicle — I was never notified. Completed after the engine had already failed. Manufacturer denied coverage (Case #XXX). BBB AUTO LINE claim #XXX filed Apr 16, 2026. No crash. No injuries. No fire. My **2019 Ford Edge** experienced a **transmission / powertrain failure at under 60,000 miles**. Before the failure, the vehicle began **shuddering during acceleration, slipping between gears, shifting harshly, and bucking / jerking at low speeds**, especially in stop-and-go traffic and when accelerating from a stop. The transmission would often **hesitate before engaging a gear and then suddenly
... lurch forward**, creating a serious safety risk. This unpredictable behavior put me and others at risk when entering intersections, making turns, merging into traffic, and driving in parking lots or residential areas, where sudden bucking or delayed engagement could cause a collision or loss of control. The issue was **reproduced and confirmed by the dealer**, which determined the transmission needed to be **rebuilt under warranty despite the vehicle having fewer than 60,000 miles**. The vehicle was inspected by the servicing dealer, and repair records are available. However, **despite the warranty rebuild, the same problems continue to persist**, including shuddering, slipping gears, and bucking at low speed. This indicates the underlying defect was not properly corrected and raises concern that the transmission will fail again. There were clear symptoms prior to the repair, including rough shifting, hesitation, slipping, and shuddering, and those same symptoms have returned after the rebuild. I am submitting this complaint because a transmission requiring major repair at such low mileage, combined with continued safety-related drivability issues after warranty service, presents an ongoing safety concern.Read more

I am filing a complaint regarding a safety recall (NHTSA Recall 25V099) on my 2021 Kia Soul that was marked as completed, but the defect was not properly repaired. On 3/17/26, I took my vehicle to a Kia dealership to have the recall addressed. The dealership performed only a software update and diagnostic testing and marked the recall as complete. No engine repair or replacement was performed. Wit
... hin approximately one week of this recall service, my engine suffered a catastrophic failure while driving, resulting in a hole in the engine block and total engine failure. This created a serious safety risk due to sudden loss of power and fire hazard. I then had the vehicle inspected by a second Kia dealership. They informed me that the engine failure was consistent with the defect described in recall 25V099 (piston oil ring failure) and that the prior recall repair did not correct the underlying issue. This indicates that the recall remedy performed on my vehicle was incomplete or ineffective, and that the vehicle was returned to me in an unsafe condition. I am concerned that other vehicles may be receiving only software updates without proper inspection or repair, which could lead to similar dangerous failures. I am requesting that this situation be investigated as a failed recall remedy and a continued safety risk. I am reporting a safety issue with my 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio (VIN: [XXX] ). The vehicle has experienced repeated failures of critical lighting systems, including the headlights, brake lights, and turn signals, which have stopped working while driving. The issue began around 42,000 miles and occurred while the vehicle was covered under a Mopar Maximum Care warranty. There have been four repair at

I was also initially told this repair was not covered under warranty, which was later determined to be incorrect. Despite repairs, the issue has persisted. The vehicle also has an open recall with no available remedy. This creates a serious safety concern, as failure of headlights, brake lights, and turn signals increases the risk of an accident. 2008 Audi A5 3.2L S-Line Coupe experiencing severe water intrusion into trunk compartment causing progressive failure of multiple electronic modules. Water enters through a known design defect in the trunk seal and drainage pathway, pooling in the spare tire well where critical electronic control modules are mounted. Affected systems: (1) Complete audio and entertainment system failure due to ampl

(3) General electrical instability with intermittent warning lights and system malfunctions. (4) Severe parasitic battery drain with vehicle battery draining overnight due to water-damaged modules drawing constant current. This is a well-documented design flaw across the entire B8 A5 and S5 platform from 2008 to 2013. The manufacturer engineered a protective cover part for later production models, confirming awareness of the water intrusion defect, but never issued a recall or retrofit for earlier vehicles. Hundreds of owners have reported identical failures on major Audi enthusiast forums.
