While driving, both the digital instrument cluster and the center infotainment screen will randomly freeze, become completely unresponsive, or shut off entirely. This occurs without warning and while the vehicle is in motion. When the instrument cluster freezes or turns off, critical driving information such as speed, warning indicators, fuel level, and other safety alerts are no longer visible.
... Additionally, when the infotainment screen becomes unresponsive, I lose access to functions such as navigation, backup camera display (when reversing), and vehicle settings. These failures create a significant safety concern because they remove essential driving information and features while the vehicle is being operated. The issue happens intermittently and does not appear to be tied to a specific driving condition. Restarting the vehicle may temporarily resolve the issue, but the problem continues to reoccur. Given that modern vehicles rely heavily on digital displays for critical operational information, this malfunction poses a clear safety risk.Read more

My Hyundai Sonata 2023 is experiencing two recall codes. The first one was 9b1 which was resolved, but the other one is indefinite which is 286. I dropped my car off on December 4 of 2025 and a month later Hyundai’s corporate team reached out to discuss the state of my car. They asked me for things such as the payoff balance of what I owe through CarMax who I’m financing the car from, they ask
... ed me the mileage on the car, the registration and the lien. They then told me they would provide me with an update by certain dates it’s been over two months and I haven’t received any updates. The car shop called me to come pick up my car because one of the issues was resolved, but after reviewing the recall code 286 and seeing that there is very much so a safety risk when driving the car, I ultimately chose to leave the car with Hyundai. Hyundai has been unsuccessful with providing me with the solution. I’ve waited two months almost 3 months and I believe that this vehicle is a lemon and I need a solution. Hyundai took back the loaner, I have nothing now and they keep telling me they’re going to follow up, but have not followed up with anything I need help. I don’t want to risk my life, driving the car and being paranoid that it could catch on fire and harm me or other people driving in it please help.Read more

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The failed component is the drive motor inverter cooling system, specifically the drive motor inverter cooler (OEM part number 87821986). This component is responsible for regulating temperature within the high-voltage electric drive system. The vehicle is currently at the dealership with the re
... pair order open, and the part has not yet been replaced due to national backorder status. The vehicle and failed component are available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The failure triggered a “High Voltage System Warning” message. This warning indicates a malfunction within the electric propulsion system, which controls vehicle movement and power delivery. A malfunction in the inverter cooling system can lead to: Loss of propulsion Sudden power reduction Vehicle shutdown while driving Potential overheating of high-voltage components Because this is a $75,000 electric performance vehicle with only approximately 5,100 miles and four months of ownership, a critical high-voltage system failure creates a serious safety concern. I do not feel the vehicle is safe to operate, and I have refused to drive it under these conditions. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The issue was diagnosed and confirmed by an authorized Acura dealership service department on January 29, 2026. The dealership determined that the drive motor inverter cooler requires replacement. The repair order remains open because the required OEM part is on national backorder with no confirmed ETA. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle has been inspected by the authorized Acura dealership service department. The manufacturer, American Honda/Acura, has been notified through a formal customer relationsRead more

On 01/30/26, I delivered my vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership for the third time in connection with Safety Recall 68C involving the hybrid battery system. The recall addresses a battery defect that carries risk of fire. This is the third occasion on which I have had to leave my vehicle with the dealership because the recall repair has not been successfully completed. During the most recent

The vehicle has remained at the dealership and out of service since that date. As of 02/16/26, I have not been provided with a confirmed estimated time of arrival for the replacement battery. The vehicle remains unusable pending completion of the recall repair. No loaner vehicle was provided when the vehicle was rendered inoperable due to the failed recall repair. I was therefore required to obtain a rental vehicle at my own expense in order to maintain transportation for work and daily obligations. On January 30, I received written authorization from Jeep Customer Care approving rental reimbursement at $60 per day and explicitly listing specific companies as acceptable providers. Based on that written authorization, I secured a rental vehicle within the approved rate. After incurring rental expenses, I was informed reimbursement would be limited to $25 per day due to the rental company I chose being categorized as a third-party provider, despite being specifically listed in the written approval. It is not feasible to obtain a comparable rental vehicle in my area at $25 per day. The reimbursement discrepancy remains unresolved. The vehicle remains out of service. I am continuing to incur rental expenses and will be responsible for paying the difference out of pocket despite having relied on written authorization.Read more

The hybrid propulsion system in my 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe intermittently malfunctions while driving. The “D” (Drive) indicator on the gear selector begins flashing, and the engine RPMs suddenly decrease without warning. During these events, the vehicle loses propulsion power and responsiveness. After several seconds, the vehicle may return to normal operation. This failure affects the hybrid p
... owertrain and transmission system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This condition creates a serious safety risk because the sudden loss of propulsion reduces the vehicle’s ability to accelerate or maintain speed in traffic. This is especially dangerous when merging, crossing intersections, or driving at highway speeds, as it increases the risk of collision due to loss of power and reduced vehicle control. The vehicle has been evaluated by a Jeep dealership service department. The dealership has not provided a permanent repair, and the manufacturer recall affecting the hybrid system remains open and unresolved. The recall repair has not been performed, and the hybrid malfunction continues to occur. The vehicle has been inspected by dealership personnel, but the issue remains unresolved. The dealership indicated that replacing the 12-volt battery may help, but no definitive root cause has been identified, and the hybrid system malfunction continues. There were no battery warning lights prior to or during the failure. The primary symptom is the flashing “D” indicator and sudden decrease in RPMs, followed by temporary recovery. This indicates a malfunction of the hybrid propulsion system. This unresolved hybrid system failure presents an ongoing safety hazard and loss of propulsion while driving.Read more

I was told by 3 different people in 3 different departments that even though there is a safety recall on 2020 Jeeps my VIN# isn't included. I asked why not and was told that it depended where the Jeep was made. They also told me that the repair will be at my expense. This doesn't seem fair to me because the recall is a safety issue to replace the instrument panel cluster free of charge. Just because my Jeep VIN# wasn't included doesn't mean it wasn't going to fail like the others that were included!! Safety Concern – Steering Instability / Death Wobble – 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara To Whom It May Concern, I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with approximately 30,000 miles. I am writing to formally document and request a resolution for a recurring and severe steering instability commonly referred to as “death wobble.” The vehicle experiences violent front-end oscillation after encounterin
... g normal road conditions (e.g., highway speeds and minor road irregularities). This condition poses a significant safety risk to me, passengers, and other drivers. This issue has been widely documented in Jeep Wrangler models and addressed in various Technical Service Bulletins concerning steering dampers, ball joints, track bars, and front suspension components. Given the known history of this condition in Jeep vehicles, I am requesting: A full diagnostic inspection of all steering and suspension components. Confirmation of any applicable Technical Service Bulletins. Repair or replacement of defective components at no cost. Written documentation of findings and repairs. This vehicle has been properly maintained and has low mileage for its model year. A violent steering oscillation at highway speed is not normal wear and tear — it is a safety defect. If this issue cannot be resolved under warranty or goodwill assistance, I will pursue escalation through Stellantis Customer Care, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and applicable consumer protection or lemon law provisions. I am requesting written confirmation of how this matter will be addressed. Sincerely, Cindy Rossbach 29872 Milby Drive Easton, MD 21601 410-829-2098 [email protected] VIN: 1C4HJXENOMW771106Read more

There was no impact from debris, no vehicle in front of me throwing objects, and no prior damage to the glass. The explosion was extremely loud, resembling a gunshot. The sunroof glass appeared to burst outward and then collapse inward, sending broken glass downward. Tha
... nkfully, my vehicle has a canvas sunshade beneath the sunroof, which was closed at the time. The sunshade prevented glass from falling directly onto me and my passenger. Without the shade, we likely would have sustained injuries from falling and flying glass. There were no road hazards, weather anomalies, or external impacts that could have caused this failure. The failure appears to be spontaneous. This incident created a significant safety hazard due to: The sudden loud explosion at highway speed The potential for serious injury from falling glass The risk of loss of vehicle control due to distraction or injury The possibility of future occurrences in similar vehicles I believe this may be a manufacturing defect involving the tempered glass panel.Read more

On multiple occasions, the transmission does not respond to gear changes such as moving from drive to reverse or park into drive. On those occasions, the D for drive would be blinking. More concerning and very dangerous is a lack of propulsion mid drive, the transmission would not go into gear. The engine would rev high, and it would not move forward, except by whatever momentum it originally had.
... This has happened to me on at least four occasions two of which I was in the left lane of three and four lane wide streets with cars passing me at high speed on the right. I needed to pull over turn the car off and then on again, which is the only way that the transmission would start working again. Sometimes the transmission would be jerky, especially after those incidents. crossing three and four lanes while people are going 50 and 60 miles an hour is a very dangerous situation when you have no power. The car is a new car. I have had it for only two months and it has been doing this intermittently the entire time. This has been at the dealer for service two times so far and has not been able to be replicated, however, I do have one incident on video. There were no warning lamps messages, and there are no error codes that are found by the dealer.Read more
