Noticed the smell of burning oil and smoke from the engine while driving on the interstate with my husband and young children in the vehicle. Pulled over at a gas station to inspect and discovered large amounts of oil leaking. While at the gas station the low oil indicator came on. There were no warning or check engine lights prior to the incident. The dealership diagnosed cracked cylinder head.

When running the vehicle in electric mode (and sometimes hybrid), there seems to be an issue with acceleration. When pressing the pedal, the vehicle begins to accelerate until it reaches around 50% power. Once that happens, it either barely accelerates or doesn't at all - even if you are pushing the gas pedal completely to the floor. After a short period of time, the engine kicks on to compensate,
... but there is of course a delay there and many times causes the vehicle to lurch forward. After taking my vehicle to the dealership twice for this, I was told that although Stellantis is keeping quiet about this, during the 68C recall software flash fix Stellantis installed something into the vehicles to essentially throttle the battery's power. They claim this is to avoid the battery from getting too hot. I was never notified that they would be completely altering the functionality of my vehicle and how it drives - which is inappropriate - and I believe this also poses a safety risk as the loss of propulsion/delay in acceleration and the lurching of the vehicle could cause an accident you're pulling out onto a road or are in traffic. Stellantis is claiming nothing was done to the vehicle and my dealership is now claiming it is functioning as intended, which makes sense because if they DID make this change, it is technically running how they want it to. However, I have had this vehicle for nearly 2 years and it NEVER drove like this before. I have also seen numerous posts and comments from other owners on the NHTSA website, Reddit, Facebook, and various Jeep forums mentioning they are having the EXACT same issues I am having, so I know it is not just my vehicle. This, along with the other recalls that STILL have no resolution is completely unacceptable and Stellantis would rather gaslight us into believing our vehicles are fine instead of owning up to the truth - that they are not.Read more

My Seltos had a recall in 2021 (recall number SC209) because the piston oil rings were not property heated which can result in engine damage. The problem was supposedly repaired in 2021, yet in 2026 at 50,000 miles I am having piston notice problems and the engine light is constantly lit. The car has stalled on several occasions. I am being told that my vehicle with only 50,000 miles needs a br
... and new engine block and transmission. The recall was a safety recall to prevent the engine from stalling, risk of a crash and increased risk of fire. Although the issues with my vehicle are clearly as a result of the piston issue which were supposed to have been fixed they obviously were not and I am now experiencing all issues of the recall and bad engine. Kia of Round Rock is refusing to make this repair correctly and are asking me to pay for the new engine and transmission because they say it is out of warranty. That being said, had the recall problem been correctly resolved in 2021 I would not be having these same problems will fall directly in line with the issues resulting in the recall.Read more

1. The Power Transfer Unit (PTU) and transfer case have failed. The vehicle was initially suspected to have a wheel bearing issue due to a howling noise during the test drive. However, after purchase, the noise worsened significantly. An independent repair shop diagnosed the vehicle and confirmed that the transfer case and bearings are defective and unsafe. The vehicle is currently at the dealersh
... ip and is available for inspection upon request. 2. I was informed by a certified mechanic that the vehicle is unsafe to drive and poses a significant risk of crash due to transfer case failure. Failure of the transfer case and PTU can result in sudden loss of power, drivetrain lockup, or loss of vehicle control while driving. This placed my safety, my child’s safety, and others on the road at serious risk. I was specifically instructed not to drive the vehicle due to the hazard. 3.Yes. The problem was confirmed by both an independent repair shop and the selling dealership. The dealership acknowledged there is an active recall related to the PTU/transfer case and ordered a replacement transfer case. However, they stated the part is on national backorder with no current estimated availability due to the recall. 4. The vehicle has been inspected and diagnosed by an independent repair facility and is currently at the dealership where it was purchased for further inspection and recall-related repair. The dealership has acknowledged the recall and the need for transfer case replacement. 5.Yes. The primary symptom was a loud howling or whining noise coming from the drivetrain area, which began before purchase and was reported to the dealer during the test drive. The dealer initially stated it was a wheel bearing issue. After purchase, the noise progressively worsened over several weeks, leading to the diagnosis of transfer case failure. No warning lights appeared, but the audible noise was severe and consistent.Read more

I am filing a safety complaint regarding a Chicco NextFit car seat. The anchor tab on my child’s car seat has become visibly stressed and appears to be failing after only two years of normal use. This is extremely concerning as this component is critical to properly securing the seat and ensuring my child’s safety in the event of a crash. I contacted the manufacturer and provided photos. They
... confirmed that the tab is stressed but did not offer an explanation for how this could happen or provide any investigation or corrective action. The product is discontinued, and I was told I am outside of the warranty period, which does not address the safety concern. This appears to be a potential structural or material failure and could put children at risk if the seat does not perform as intended during a collision. I believe this issue should be investigated to determine whether this is an isolated defect or a broader safety problem affecting other consumers. I am requesting that this issue be reviewed for possible defect or recall to protect child passenger safety.Read more

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The steering and driver assistance system appear to be malfunctioning. The vehicle intermittently pulls to the right during lane changes, creating resistance in the steering wheel. Additionally, the blind spot monitoring indicator remains illuminated when the vehicle is stopped. The vehicle is avai
... lable for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? While driving at freeway speeds, the vehicle unexpectedly pulled to the right when attempting to change lanes. This required immediate corrective steering to maintain lane position. The condition creates a loss of driver confidence and could result in unintended lane departure or collision. The unexpected steering behavior poses a serious safety risk to myself, passengers, and surrounding vehicles. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The issue has been experienced multiple times. The vehicle recently had front control arms replaced, but the steering pull and blind spot indicator issue have persisted intermittently. The concern has not yet been fully diagnosed or confirmed as resolved. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has not been inspected by police. It has been serviced by a dealer for suspension-related work. There is an open recall (NHTSA Recall Number 25V-514) with no remedy currently available. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? A small yellow blind spot indicator light remains illuminated in the side mirrors when the vehicle is stopped. There are no other consistent dashboard warning messages. The symptoms began intermittently prior to the steering pull event and have continued periodically.Read more

I own a 2022 Chevrolet Suburban RST that has experienced ongoing mechanical and safety issues over several years. I first began reporting drivability concerns to General Motors and the dealership in 2023 and continued contacting them throughout 2024 and 2025. During one dealership visit, a sales advisor rode in the vehicle with me and stated they did not observe any issues, despite my continued re
... ports. The vehicle later suffered a loss of propulsion and required a full engine replacement. The radiator and cooling components were also replaced by a Chevrolet dealership. Due to ongoing concerns for my safety, I contacted General Motors multiple times, requested an executive buyback, and asked about Lemon Law options. GM advised that the engine had been replaced and that I needed to take ownership of the vehicle. After picking up the vehicle last Wednesday, I immediately noticed a persistent sweet coolant/radiator odor inside the cabin and outside the vehicle that continued for nearly a week. I also experienced engine hesitation/stuttering when stopped at traffic lights as the auto start/stop feature reengaged. I attempted to contact GM again regarding these concerns prior to today’s incident. Today, while driving, the vehicle displayed an engine overheating warning instructing me to turn the car off immediately. I safely pulled over and shut the vehicle down and am currently stranded roadside. Given the repeated failures, history of loss of propulsion, multiple repair attempts, denied buyback requests, persistent coolant odor, drivability issues, and now overheating shortly after engine and radiator replacement, I believe this vehicle presents an ongoing safety risk and request formal investigation.Read more
