While driving higher speeds (45 mph+) I have had my vehicle start shaking very violently which results in me having to slam on my breaks to gain control of my vehicle. When this happens I have been traveling on the highway or interstate which puts other drivers at risk due to me unexpectedly having to come to a halt to gain control of my vehicle. I have taken my vehicle to the mechanic multiple ti

Steering dampener has been replaced twice in a year. Mechanic seems to believe that there is a design flaw in the vehicle that is causing it at this point. There is no warning message or anything that gives me any warning. I am scared to drive my vehicle on the highway or interstate.Read more

I am reporting a serious safety concern involving my 2021 Honda Accord Sport SE. The issue began at approximately 78,000 miles when multiple warning lights suddenly appeared on the dashboard while driving. At the same time, the vehicle began shaking and had difficulty accelerating. The engine felt unstable and the car struggled to gain speed. I immediately took the vehicle to a mechanic where it
... was diagnosed with an engine misfire on cylinder 3. The spark plug and ignition coil were replaced. After this repair the vehicle appeared to run normally for a short time, but the exact same symptoms returned shortly afterward. The vehicle again began shaking while driving and experienced loss of power and poor acceleration. This creates a serious safety concern, especially when merging onto highways or driving in traffic where sudden loss of power could lead to an accident. After researching this issue, I discovered numerous complaints from other owners of 2021 Honda Accords describing the same symptoms that ultimately resulted in blown head gasket failures. These complaints appear in the NHTSA database and other consumer forums. The pattern of engine misfires, shaking, and loss of acceleration appears to be consistent across many vehicles with similar mileage. Despite the number of similar complaints, there are currently no recalls associated with my VIN. I believe this may indicate a broader manufacturing defect affecting these vehicles. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue further to determine whether a safety defect exists that could require a recall or other corrective action.Read more

Collision Mitigation Braking System camera failure indictions appeared in the dashboard control center. I took the vehicle to the Honda dealership who stated there is not an active recall and that this was not a covered expense. Out of caution because I have read of the system failues causing brake lock-up related to over 40 vehicular crashes and almost twice that number of injuries, I decided
... to immediately obtain this $2,000 repair. I contact Honda of America to start a claim for a goodwill reimbursement and they told me only (and repeatedly) that the vehicle was too old, out of warranty and that they WOULD NOT consider reimbursement of the repair to this integrated and vital safety system. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has documented 2,976 complaints involving unintended automatic braking in Honda vehicles, with 47 crashes and 93 injuries reported. These issues involve Honda vehicles equipped with camera-based collision mitigation braking systems similar to the one used in the 2017 Pilot. Because this failure involves a core safety system component, and because there is: -documented evidence of system-wide safety investigations -thousands of consumer complaints -shared safety technology across the Honda lineup I requested reimbursement from Honda America. They made ZERO effort to acknowledge this safety system fault and clearly stated they would not reimburse me NOR would the customer service representative provide me with any guidance on how to further pursue the matter. NHTSA complaints involving the 2017 Honda Pilot reference failures involving the Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist System, and Adaptive Cruise Control warnings, all systems dependent on the same forward-facing camera architecture. Front multipurpose camera replacement was the final repair needed and NOT reimbursed.Read more

On January 29, 2026 my 2023 Tesla Model Y was serviced by Tesla for windshield repair and routine maintenance. Within a week after the service visit, the vehicle began displaying a service warning message on the dashboard. I contacted Tesla and was advised to bring the vehicle back for inspection. Before I could return to the service center, while slowly reversing out of my garage, a large bolt f
... ell from the vehicle and the front left wheel assembly dropped, causing the vehicle to come to an abrupt stop. Tesla service later confirmed that a bolt from the front suspension link assembly had detached, resulting in damage to the front halfshaft, steering gear, wheel speed sensor, and other related components. The vehicle had approximately 38,000 miles at the time of failure. This appears to be a critical suspension hardware failure. If this failure had occurred at highway speed it could have resulted in loss of vehicle control and a serious accident. The vehicle had been serviced by Tesla shortly before the incident and had displayed a warning message prior to the failure.Read more

The TPMS system failed in the ECM or engine computer. It uses the wheel speed sensors on each hub to measure differences in wheel speed and uses this to infer if any one wheel has low tire pressure. (This vehicle does not have TPMS sensors in the wheels.) However, with this failure, it reports a tire pressure problem even though all 4 tires are inflated properly. This problem persists even after
... cleaning then replacing wheel speed sensors. The problem appears to be in the ECM or engine computer, which is very difficult and expensive to replace. With this problem, the driver is never able to tell if any tire actually has low pressure because the system always reports that a tire has low pressure. Vehicle startered to deccelerate and lose engine functionality while I was going 60mph on the freeway. Had to involuntarily stop in traffic. No system warnings were on or lights. After the incident mechanic saw a head gasket failure just as other models and coolant had leaked into cylinder two. Seems to be a recurring problem with these models .

I am filing a complaint regarding my 2021 Kia Seltos 2.0L. While driving, the engine made a continuous rattling noise, and the check engine light illuminated with code P0017 (Camshaft/Crankshaft Correlation). Upon inspection, I discovered the engine oil level was extremely low. After adding oil, the rattling stopped, but the P0017 code remains. I contacted my dealership, which refused to perform
... any recall or warranty inspection. I also contacted Kia Consumer Affairs, and my goodwill claim was closed with no follow-up. I am concerned this issue is related to a known engine defect affecting 2021 Seltos 2.0L engines, specifically problems with piston rings and excessive oil consumption, which can lead to engine damage, stalling, or timing errors. I request that NHTSA record this complaint, investigate whether my vehicle is affected by a defect, and ensure Kia provides proper inspection and repair coverage. This is a potential safety and engine reliability concern.Read more
