The front driver or passenger doors do not open 100% of the time when pulling on the handle. This behavior happens after the car has been unlocked. I was able to reproduce the behavior at the dealership and was informed that Volvo

The gear shifter cable on my 2014 Cadillac CTS failed completely and without warning. The vehicle became totally inoperable and could not be shifted into Park, Neutral, Reverse, or Drive. There were no dashboard alerts or signs of failure. This matches the exact symptoms described in GM Recall No. 21V473000. However, my vehicle was excluded from further action because it had previously received a
... visual-only inspection during the recall window. No functional testing was performed. Despite being marked as “repaired,” the shifter cable failed exactly as described in the original recall. GM confirmed that the recall case was closed after a visual inspection per their protocol. But this inspection clearly failed to detect a dangerous mechanical defect. I have now been without a working vehicle for over two weeks, with the earliest dealership appointment not available until the week of July 7 — and a $180 diagnostic fee quoted, with no guarantee of repair coverage. This breakdown could have resulted in a crash or rollaway if it had occurred while driving or parked on an incline. It poses a serious safety risk not just to me but to the public. Vehicles cleared with insufficient inspection should not be excluded from protection. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this failure, hold GM accountable for prematurely closed recall cases, and consider requiring them to reopen and expand the campaign to include VINs like mine. I am willing to provide photos, documentation, and records as needed. Thank you for your attention and swift consideration.Read more

On April 24, 2022, while driving my 2015 Kia Soul, the vehicle suddenly caught fire. The fire originated in the engine compartment and destroyed the vehicle. This occurred despite the existence of a known safety recall related to the Knock Sensor Detection System (KSDS), which has been linked to engine fires in Kia vehicles. Following the incident, Kia America declined responsibility, and a joint
... investigation attempt by my insurer, USAA, was ignored. Kia proceeded with an independent investigation and later concluded that the cause was “undetermined” and that the fire originated in the engine compartment but could not determine the cause, which was likely due to the severe fire damage, per their own report. I have since been informed that USAA pursued subrogation against Kia, contrary to Kia’s recent claims. A letter of preservation was also sent to USAA following the incident to ensure the vehicle would remain in its post-fire condition. This was done to safeguard the integrity of the vehicle for investigative purposes. Following Kia’s refusal to assist, I was advised to explore reimbursement through other means, including the ongoing class action settlement related to this engine defect. I submitted a claim through that process but was ultimately denied due to a lack of “proof” that the fire was caused by the recall. However, my vehicle was so severely damaged in the fire that no conclusive cause could be determined , a point even Kia acknowledged in their own post-fire report, which stated the cause was “undetermined” but that the fire originated in the engine compartment. Over a year later, after the original dismissal of Kia, in September 2023, Kia America sent a letter via mail to the wrong address and email requesting documentation for reimbursement, which I provided only for them to again deny any responsibility. This delayed communication, along with the lack of transparency and accountability in handling a known safety issue, raises serious public safeRead more

As a Ford owner, I can vividly recall the 1980’s Ford acronym ‘fix or repair daily’. That comes to mind as my 2022 F350 Platinum Dually has been in the shop for one thing or another more times in 3 years than my 2015 Chevy Impala LTZ has in 10 years. But I digress. The reason for this complaint is my latest malfunction on my Ford vehicle. As mentioned previously, it hasn’t been 3 yea
... rs and yet another issue with my vehicle has come to light. My passenger roof trim has broken at the connection point, which of all things, was connected via rivet…beneath the rear glass. Apparently, this an extremely common issue among 2017 and up Ford Super Duty. There has been no recall issued. And Ford wants the vehicle owners to pay for the repair. It is an absolute horrible design. The plastic breaks often. And to make matters worse, the rear glass had to be removed to replace the trim. Most of the trim snaps in place but the very end, the end that is cheaply made and connected to a metal rivet, is so fragile and thin that after a few months of driving over American bumpy roads and being beating up the Sun, it cracks, breaks lose, sticks up like a sore thumb, and otherwise detracts from the reputation of the Ford Brand. My vehicle is still under the original warranty as I have only 22,240 miles, and I purchased and extended warranty with adds 4 more years. This needs to be remedied and Ford owners need to be compensated for monies spent to repair these manufacturing defects. MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP STATES THAT IF THEY BREAK THE GLASS DURING THE REPAIR THAT THE COST OF THE NEW GLASS IS MY RESPONSIBILITY, EVEN UNDER WARRANTY. That is so very wrong and alarming. The repair is $125, to be completed by an outside vendor. The dealer will not even tackle this repair. THE CONNECTION POINT OF THE ROOF TRIM IS A RIVET. Why? THE CONNECTION POINT OF THE ROOF TRIM IS BENEATH THE REAR GLASS, WHICH HAS TO BE REMOVED INORDER TO REPAIR THE DEFECTIVE ROOF TRIM. Why? Why makeRead more
