Engine power reduced defect, causing affected models to lose power while driving at highway speeds. My son’s was driving 55 mph and then all of sudden the car decelerated to 20 mph in minutes before his 2016 Malibu stalled on [XXX]. Unfortunately the car did not make it to the emergency lane and as a result a SUV hit his car killing my daughter who was 33 weeks pregnant. The baby survived with l

Despite this recall, GM failed to notify vehicle owners, including the owner of the vehicle involved in the fatal accident on [XXX], in Dallas, Texas, resulting in my daughter’s death. This defect has been found in several 2016 Malibus, prompting a class action lawsuit against GM. Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit reported having to restart their vehicles or replace faulty accelerator pedal position sensors to address the issue. GM's failure to notify vehicle owners of the safety recall constitutes negligence and gross negligence. The 2018 Ford Edge I currently own and according to my research, there have been several class action suits that have been filed due to the customer experiencing "coolant intrusion" into the engine rendering the vehicle useless without repair. My vehicle only has 50,000 miles on it and needs $6-7,000.00 worth of repairs to correct the problem. The current resale value without this issue is $10-13,
... 000.00 but is now worth basically scrap. Cases that have been filed are Case [XXX] [XXX] et al. v. Ford Motor Co. in the United States District Court Eastern District of California. According to this case it states, "It pertains to 2013-2019 Ford Escape, 2013-2019 Ford Fusion, 2015-2018 Ford Edge, 2016-2019 Lincoln MKC, and 2016-2019 Lincoln MKZ models equipped with the 1.5L, 1.6L, and 2.0L EcoBoost engines, specifically, citing coolant intrusion as its chief focus." There are similar cases filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, as well as another in the Ontario Court of Justice in Canada. My vehicle exhibits nearly all of the issues common with coolant intrusion which can be Overheating, Coolant consumption issues, Engine misfire, Engine damage, and Engine fire Smoke coming from exhaust pipes. According to the current cases and complaints the models experiencing this issue are 2013-2019 Ford Escape, 2013-2019 Ford Fusion, 2015-2018 Ford Edge, 2017-2019 Lincoln MKC, 2017-2019 Lincoln MKZ. I respectfully ask that you hold Ford accountable for this issue as it has placed undue financial burden on the consumer. I attempted to contact Ford and they said no issues such relating to coolant intrusion exist for my 2018 Ford Edge with that VIN number but cannot explain why a well maintained vehicle with 50,000 miles is no longer operable. This puts millions of consumers on the road at risk should that engine fail while being operated on the road. A case has been filed with Ford it is CASE NUMBER [XXX]. The power steering failed on June 17th, 2025 At approximately 3 PM. While going through an automated car wash, I experienced a critical malfunction at the end of the belt. When it came time to shift my vehicle from Neutral into Drive, the car would not respond. Every time I attempted to shift into Drive, the emergency brake would automatically engage, preventing the vehicle from moving forward. As a result, I was stuck at the end of the car wash belt. The car behi
... nd me, unable to stop due to the forward momentum of the belt, was pushed into my vehicle. Their vehicle sustained damage from hitting my trailer hitch, although my car did not appear to be physically damaged. This incident created a clear safety hazard, not only putting me at risk but also directly causing a rear-end collision. I believe the failure was related to either the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system or the shifting mechanism. However, I am not a mechanic, and this is my best assessment. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This malfunction created an immediate safety risk by leaving my car immobilized in a narrow, automated space, with another vehicle in motion behind me. The inability to shift into Drive and the automatic engagement of the emergency brake contributed to the collision. The issue has not yet been reproduced or confirmed, but the Volkswagen dealership has been contacted and is scheduled to perform diagnostics next week. The other vehicle involved in the collision was inspected by Longmont Auto Body & Glass, who provided a repair estimate of $1,495.39. My own vehicle has not yet been physically inspected by the manufacturer. Warning Signs or Symptoms Prior to Failure: During the car wash, proximity alarms were sounding, indicating that I was close to or might hit an object (likely the wash brushes), but I received no specific dashboard warning messages related to the shifting or emergency brake system before the failure occurred.Read more

While driving at freeway speeds, my transmission malfunctioned and caused the rear wheels to briefly lock up. This sudden mechanical failure has occurred four separate times in the past month, each time while traveling at highway speeds. The incident creates a serious safety hazard — sudden rear-wheel lockup at high speeds can lead to loss of control, skidding, or collisions. Fortunately, I was
... spaced far enough from other vehicles during each occurrence, so no crashes or injuries occurred. However, this issue poses a major safety risk to both the driver and surrounding traffic, especially under different circumstances such as wet roads or heavier traffic. The issue appears to stem from the 10L80E transmission, a component widely used in GM vehicles from model years 2020 through 2025. Based on online forums and discussions, this is a known and recurring problem affecting a number of drivers, not just an isolated case. To date: The problem has not yet been diagnosed or confirmed by a dealer or service center, but it is reproducible, as it has happened multiple times under similar conditions. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to each failure — the malfunction occurred without notice. The component is not yet inspected by the manufacturer, insurance, or police, but it is available for inspection upon request. This issue requires urgent investigation by NHTSA, as it may affect a large number of vehicles on U.S. roads. A sudden drivetrain lockup at highway speeds could lead to catastrophic crashes under less fortunate circumstances I am aware of the Safety recall for vehicle years of 2020 -2022 but my specific truck manufacture date falls just outside the dates by a couple months.Read more

The symptoms and failure we experienced match the failure scenario described in Ford's own bulletin for 22S22: driveline separation, internal transmission damage, and loss of control or Park function. Ford has denied coverage, stating the failure was due to a "loose pinion flange nut" and unrelated to the recall. However, they have not provided any inspection documentation, photos, or evidence that the recalled components were properly inspected or ruled out as the root cause. We have repeatedly requested this documentation from both Ford and the dealership, but neither has provided it. We are concerned that the failure was caused by the exact defect identified in Recall 22S22, and that Ford is failing to take responsibility or follow full recall procedures—including post-failure inspection and transparency. We are requesting that NHTSA investigate this case as a potential mishandling of a known safety defect and failure to comply with recall responsibilities.Read more

Van was working fine one day and the next, before I even started it, when I pressed the brake pedal to start the van, there was a buzzing noise from the braking system and pedal went almost to the floor. Once I started the vehicle, the noise stopped and the pedal travel returned to normal. However at the same time, the warning light / message for several of the systems came up (ABS, traction con

Using an OBDII code reader displayed several "communication errors" (start with the letter "U"). I researched it on the Internet and it would appear that this is caused by a common failure of the "star connector" ("bus module" to connect various components in the van). I ordered a replacement part (which I haven't received yet) but not completely surprisingly, about 1 week after the issue occurred, today my vehicle was running properly with no more errors. I'm hoping NHTSA forces FCA to fix this issue under a recall. I've read of several other owners suffering the same issue and IMO, this is a security risk as ABS and traction contol (along with other systems) are disabled when this happens. In included pictures of the dash when it happened (note all the warning lights) and of the dash when if fixed itself (no warning light although MIL is still on (I haven't cleared it))Read more

Since purchasing my 2018 Dodge Ram brand new, I have experienced consistent issues while refueling. From day one, the fuel pump at gas stations would shut off multiple times during a fill-up, even when the tank was far from full. Initially, I believed this was an issue with individual gas stations or pumps. However, the problem has progressively worsened over time. At this point, the fuel pump sh

This issue frequently results in gasoline overflowing and spilling onto the ground, posing a serious safety hazard to myself and others, as well as an environmental concern. It also causes unnecessary fuel waste and stress during every refueling. After some research, I have learned that this issue may be related to the vapor canister or fuel system design, which has reportedly affected other Ram truck owners as well. I am filing this complaint to formally report the defect, urge investigation, and ensure Chrysler/Stellantis is held accountable for a resolution. This is a significant safety and environmental issue that should not be ignored.Read more

Improper mounting of the Dometic Water Heater by Jayco caused compartment failure. Jayco did not install supports under the 10-gallon water heater tank as required by Dometic (see installation instructions attached). Road bumps and vibrations caused the moment arm of the unsupported tank to tear the sheet metal water heater mounting frame fastened to the RV outer wall thereby causing a safety issu
... e. The water heater compartment failed thereby tilting back behind the wall of the RV. When tilted back, the unit exhaust can enter the living quarters. When tilted back, the LP gas line is exposed to failure; the water line can break and there could be electrical implications. Other RV owners have described the same issue (see Inf from Amazon Review attached). Jayco customer service states they will do nothing unless directed by the NHTSA via a recall. They will not allow me to escalate the issue to Jayco management. I have an extended warranty and comprehensive insurance. Claims were discussed with both companies including photos but they reject this as a claim stating that a compartment failure is not covered even with safety concerns.Read more

Component/System That Failed: The 10R80 automatic transmission is malfunctioning. It causes harsh shifting, delayed acceleration, hesitation, and unpredictable surging. These issues have been confirmed as part of Ford’s internal TSB 23-2250, which directly references this transmission defect. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: This transmission failure poses a se
... rious safety risk. The hesitation and delay in acceleration occur during merging, turning, and highway driving, which can cause near misses and sudden loss of power. The delayed response time compromises my ability to move safely through traffic. Reproduced/Confirmed: Yes. The issue was confirmed by Liberty Ford in Fayetteville, NC, after I paid for a diagnostic. The service department acknowledged the symptoms but refused to cover the diagnosis or repair under warranty since no recall was showing under my VIN. Inspected by Others: The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer directly or by law enforcement or insurance. However, it was diagnosed and documented by an authorized Ford dealership (Liberty Ford in Fayetteville NC). Warning Lamps or Symptoms: There were no warning lamps or error codes. The symptoms began subtly but became consistent over time. The first noticeable event was approximately in “early 2025”, with increased severity since then. I submitted a written complaint to Ford on June 9, 2025, via USPS Priority Mail (Tracking #[XXX]) and also filed a certified safety complaint with NHTSA (Tracking #[XXX]) but have received no response. I am requesting formal investigation and recall action. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

After I filled up my tank, I drove and turned onto a busy highway. As I was turning, it felt like my car went into neutral. I had to take my foot off of the gas and looked to see if the shifter switched gears, but it was still in drive. After about 10 seconds it shifted into gear. If I did not wait for the road to be clear I could have gotten into a major accident.

I purchased a 2021 Toyota Highlander in June of 2024 with about 45k miles. The transmission completely failed at 67k miles, when I brought it in to have checked in April of 2024. This is not covered under warranty and is costing 7-8k in repairs and over 3k in rental vehicles. I'm told the transmissions are on back order for 3-6 months. No lights went off in the car warning me of this. I smelle
... d burning fumes on and off and reported it to the service dept around 59k (January 2024) miles. I did feel a jump at times, but didn't report that. After my routine oil change at the end of March of 2025, I heard a whining noise only when accelerating and would immediately stop when I released my foot. Two Toyota Service departments diagnosed my car with a failed transmission. I haven't been able to drive my car for 2 months now. My family's safety has been at risk while this issue with this transmission failure has been known and not reported to the consumers prior to my purchase in June of 2024. Potential consequences to a failed transmission while driving are as follows: -Sudden Stop or Coast to a Stop: The car might stop moving entirely, especially if internal components seize or it just loses power and I coast to a stop. -No Response to Acceleration -Pressing the gas has no effect, which is dangerous if I'd be in traffic or on a highway. -Locked-Up Transmission -Rare but possible, especially in catastrophic mechanical failure which could cause wheels to lock briefly. -StrandedRead more
