My Jeep Wrangler 4xe now has controlled/limited electric propulsion while driving in electric only mode after 68c recall was performed. With no warning while driving in electric only mode, my vehicle will not accelerate without accelerator press almost to the floor to activate the internal gas engine. This behavior on a cold run starts out fine, but as the vehicle(electrical system) warms, the l
... imitations come on strong can catch the driver completely off guard if needing to accelerate quickly to merge into traffic or enter freeway on ramps. This erratic behavior is both dangerous to the driver along with other drivers on the road. My dealer has driven the vehicle on a short(in town) test drive and concluded the vehicle drives as intended by the manufacture. No warning are lamps visible, and as outside temps rise, this issue seems to be more apparent. This electrical behavior started the day I received my vehicle from the dealer after 68c recall was performed. The software that is now installed on these 4xe vehicles seem to be limiting/cutting the electrical output of the onboard high voltage battery to limit or eliminate heat stress on the internal battery known to catch fire and burn under heavy load. This creates a safety hazard to owners who drive these vehicles that basically stall out(no acceleration/dead pedal) without warning given to the operator prior to the software limiting the battery output to the vehicle drive train at will. When this occurs the electrical boost gauge on the 4xe dash will not rise above 25% no matter how far down you push the accelerator pedal, where normally(when not limited by software) the gauge can reach 100% during the electrical acceleration process.Read more

The factory-installed Trailer Tow module in my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee keeps shutting down the lights in my horse trailer while on the road. The trailer lights been thoroughly inspected and no problem with the lights or wiring could be found. The Jeep dealer said the Jeep is "functioning as designed." Apparently, it is designed to shut down all the trailer lights at the most minor change in the c

I will be driving along and a "check trailer lights" message comes on - when that happens, I know I have no trailer lights because the Jeep has shut them down. The lights will not go back on until the car reboots, which means it has to be turned off for 15 minutes or so.Read more

Subject Urgent Complaint – Recall Repair Delay for 2022 Jeep Wrangler I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the handling of a recall repair for my 2022 Jeep Wrangler, specifically involving the electric battery system that powers the vehicle’s electric motor. While I understand the importance of safety recalls, the excessive delay in completing this repair has become unacc
... eptable. My vehicle has been unavailable for an extended period, and I have not received a clear or reliable timeline for when the repair will be completed. This situation has caused significant disruption to my life. As a rideshare driver and professional traveling musician, dependable transportation is critical to my income. The delay has directly impacted my ability to work and earn a living. Furthermore, it has negatively affected my family life and overall quality of life due to limited mobility. I am requesting immediate action to address this matter, including: An expedited resolution and firm completion date for the recall repair A loaner vehicle or reimbursement for alternative transportation during the repair period, Consideration of financial compensation for lost income and inconvenience caused by this delay. I have made every effort to comply with recall procedures, and I expect the same level of responsibility and urgency from Stellantis/Chrysler. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will continue to escalate the matter through appropriate consumer protection channels. I look forward to your immediate response and a satisfactory resolution. We have been without our 2020 JEEP since the end of February 2026 due to an engine issue (had the car only 6-7 months). The first company thought there might be coolant in the head gasket causing the issue. After our extended warranty company wanted the engine opened to confirm, we had to send the car to Precision Tune at the end of March to do this (prior place didn't open engines or repair them
... and recommended Precision Tune). Based on the engine codes of P0301 and P1061, as well how the car started, Precision Tune knew that the multi air actuator had failed. We both kept asking the extended warranty company how opening the engine would tell them that the multi air actuator failed (Precision Tune and JEEP dealer both said it would not show them that). 5 days later the extended warranty company said that the part was not covered. By that time the multi air actuator was on backorder. On April 10, I called up JEEP to ask about the part and when it might be back in stock. I was told that JEEP is doing an engineering review on the part because of the various issues and until that is resolved there is no timetable on when the part will be available leaving customers without a vehicle. This may not seem like something the NHTSA cares about but there is defiantly an issue. In fact, there was a case investigated by the NHTSA about this issue that was closed in 2023. It seems like the issue was never resolved by JEEP and is continuing to the point that the part has to go back through engineering.Read more

I am the owner of a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WL) subject to Safety Recall 12B / NHTSA 24V-130, concerning high beam headlamps that fail to respond when the master lighting switch is set to the AUTO position. I contacted Flagship Chrysler to schedule the free recall repair. The dealer refused to perform the service, claiming my vehicle does not qualify because it lacks the Auto High Beam feature
... (sales code LMS). However, according to the official recall documentation, the recall applies specifically to vehicles WITHOUT the Auto High Beam Headlamps feature (sales code LMS). My vehicle does have the Auto Lights function but does not have Auto High Beam — which is precisely the condition described in the recall scope. The dealer appears to be confusing Auto Lights with Auto High Beam, and is incorrectly excluding my vehicle from a mandatory safety recall. This repair is required by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108 S9.4, and I am being denied a free remedy I am legally entitled to. I am requesting NHTSA's assistance in ensuring the dealer complies with their legal obligation to perform this recall repair at no charge.Read more

Check Engine light came on & Auto shop says when they checked under dash, computer says “Emissions” problem. They have to do a “smoke test” to see where there is a leak!!!
Incident date: Jan 28, 2025
The vehicle experienced a failure of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) associated with the 4WD system. Prior to the failure, the 4WD warning light illuminated on the dashboard, indicating a malfunction within the drivetrain. The condition progressed and was diagnosed as an internal PTU failure. The issue was confirmed by Jacksonville Chrysler Jeep Dodge, which determined that the PTU had failed inter
... nally and required full replacement. This failure could have affected the vehicle’s ability to properly transfer power to all four wheels, increasing the risk of loss of traction or control, particularly during wet or slippery road conditions. A sudden loss or reduction of 4WD capability presents a potential safety concern. The problem was reproduced and confirmed by the dealership during inspection. The PTU was replaced due to the internal failure. It is UNKNOWN if the failed component is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle was not inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives (UNKNOWN). The 4WD warning light appeared prior to the failure, indicating a developing issue before the component ultimately failed. Based on the nature of the failure and the need for full replacement of the PTU, this appears to be a significant drivetrain defect rather than normal wear. Similar failures may be occurring in other vehicles with the same system, which could indicate a broader issue affecting vehicle safety.Read more
Incident date: Mar 13, 2026
The failure involves the drivetrain system, specifically the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) and rear differential. The PTU is under Safety Recall 01C. The differential damage is present and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This issue creates a safety risk due to potential loss of drive power and malfunction within the 4WD system, which could affect vehicle control, especially durin
... g normal driving conditions. The problem has been evaluated by a Jeep dealership. The dealership confirmed drivetrain-related issues and stated they cannot rule out that the unresolved recall condition contributed to damage within the drivetrain system. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership service department. The manufacturer has been contacted and a case was opened and denied without conclusive proof that the failure is unrelated to the recall. Prior to failure, the vehicle displayed an active “Service 4WD” warning message, indicating a fault in the drivetrain system. This warning has been present and is ongoing. This vehicle had an unresolved safety recall (01C) due to no remedy being available at the time. The vehicle continued operating with a known defect and is now experiencing failure within the same system. The manufacturer has denied responsibility despite the dealership being unable to rule out a connection.Read more

The right rear coil spring on my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee dislodged and ejected from its mounted position while the vehicle was parked. The spring did not break; it came out intact. This vehicle previously had Recall 64A performed to address a rear coil spring-related safety issue. The recall had already been completed prior to this incident and marked as “complete” The failure occurred after
... the recall remedy, indicating a potential improper repair or incomplete resolution of the defect. The fact that the spring ejected while the vehicle was stationary raises serious concerns about improper installation or inadequate retention of the component. This presents a significant safety hazard, as the same failure could occur while driving and lead to loss of control. The incident also caused (or may have caused) damage to surrounding suspension components, which are currently being inspected. This complaint is being submitted as a recall remedy failure involving a safety-critical component. Additional details: Vehicle was parked at the time of failure No prior warning before the incident Spring dislodged intact (no fracture) I request that this issue be investigated as a failed recall repair.Read more

Car begins to wobble very violently when going over 65. This has been ongoing for a while now and when I took it to the Jeep dealership they said it was just my tires. The problem is worse now and I feel unsafe driving my vehicle. I also was never called back for my recalls to be taken care of.

I am a former Transmission Calibration Engineer at Stellantis, so I know what I'm talking about. I experienced an engine stall event while coasting down in speed. I was in town, driving about 30 mph, and coasting (0% pedal). I lightly applied the brakes and while the vehicle was still in motion (coasting) the engine stalled. The information cluster displayed a message that said "put the vehicl
... e in park and restart the engine." I coasted around a corner, came to a stop, put the transmission in Park, and restarted the engine. No MIL or codes were set. I have a scan tool and confirmed later that no codes were set. I'm fairly certain the engine was in DFSO (decel fuel shutoff) when the issue occurred as the conditions were all correct for DFSO (engine was in normal operating temperature range, gear was 5th or 6th when coasting was initiated, and pedal was 0% for several seconds before the issue occurred). Loss of propulsion is an obvious safety concern as I lost control of the vehicle.Read more
