The passenger door does not open from the outside. It only opens from the inside. It is unclear what caused this, as there has been no accident or slamming of the door. There is already a technical safety bulletin for this issue, but this needs to be a recall as it poses a significant safety risk and does not appear to be caused by negligence or collision.

The driver's side sliding door on this minivan became stuck shut. I had to remove my disabled son through the open window. ... n I write this complaint, numerous people on various forums report an actuator shorting out in their doors causing this issue, meaning they cannot open the door, by any means, without this actuator being repaired. I cannot for the life of me believe that a system was engineered to not have a simple manual override on a car door. This is beyond me how this got cleared by any sort of regulatory body. The audio system in my car has gone bust - there is a periodic loud static noise that blasts out of the speakers at maximum volume and can not be turned off, even by setting the audio power off. It was brought to the Honda dealership and confirmed the audio system. The noise is so loud and startling that it causes the driver to easily lose focus on the road. It can also be so unexpecting that it
... can cause sudden jolts in movement, endangering the roadway. When looking online, this seems to be a common issue with the 2017 accord model ex-l as there have been many forums of people posting their same complaints. To make matters worse, there are no after-market replacements that work with the ex-ls dual screen setup and getting the actual part is in indefinite back order. It appears that Honda simply wants us to cope with the dangerous issue.Read more

The Rear License Plate Light bulb (right) was out and I went to have the bulb replaced. I was quoted over $1100 from the dealer, as the LED racetrack lighting was not properly sealed and is collecting water. I am submitting a formal safety complaint regarding a known but unresolved software defect affecting the oil life monitoring system in the 2024 Ford F-150 (non-Lightning models). Ford has internally acknowledged the issue in Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 25-2331, dated July 18, 2025, but has not issued a recall or public notification to affected owners. Summary of the Defect: The vehicle's in
... strument panel cluster (IPC) reduces the reported oil life to 0% in less than 1,000 miles, even under normal driving conditions. Ford attributes this to flawed software logic in the IPC module. The oil life monitor is a critical engine maintenance indicator relied upon by vehicle owners to prevent premature wear or catastrophic engine failure. Faulty or misleading oil diagnostics can result in: Drivers disregarding future oil life warnings, assuming they are incorrect Operators running engines with degraded oil beyond safe limits Loss of trust in onboard diagnostics, affecting broader vehicle safety behavior Avoidable mechanical damage, particularly for owners following the vehicle’s built-in guidance Ford’s TSB instructs dealers to reprogram several modules, including the IPC, APIM, BCM, GWM, and TCU, but only if a customer complains. There is no recall, no public campaign, and no direct owner communication. This leaves potentially thousands of vehicles on the road with faulty maintenance guidance—and owners unaware of it. Why This Warrants Recall Action: This is not a cosmetic or comfort issue. It is a misrepresentation of core engine health diagnostics that, if followed blindly (as owners are instructed to), could cause premature engine wear or failure. The behavior directly undermines the purpose of onboard diagnostics and scheduled maintenance. I urge the NHTSA to investigate TSB 25-2331 and consider elevating this matter to a formal safety recall, or at minimum, compel Ford to issue a customer service campaign notifying all potentially affected owners.Read more

Catastrophic engine failure occurred while driving on July 4, 2025, resulting in the car briefly stopping at 60mph skidding tires on I-70 (a major highway in colorado), then tires unlocked and now engine moving again but with a check engine light, and acceleration was sluggish. It freaked out the family and we pulled over at the next exit to find the engine was knocking like crazy. No injuries occ
... urred, but the sudden engine failure while driving created a serious safety hazard. Complete loss of power could have resulted in accident if this had occurred in traffic, on highway, or during emergency maneuver. We later found out engine the rod bearing failed on cylinder 4 and shattered in several pieces. We took it to both independent auto repair shop, then the dealer, both confirmed rod bearing problem, and engine replacement now required. Dealer is quoting us $24000. Failure was due to connecting rod bearing failure - a known defect currently under NHTSA Investigation RQ24-013. This failure is consistent with NHTSA Investigation RQ24-013 covering connecting rod bearing failures in 1.4 million Honda/Acura vehicles including 2016 MDX. The failure appears related to unaddressed ATF warmer defect covered under Acura's KG9 warranty extension (Service Bulletin 17-026) that compromised cooling system in December 2024, leading to thermal stress and bearing failure. Acura was aware this defect was serious enough to warrant 10-year unlimited mileage warranty coverage but failed to honor it. We had the car serviced June 25th 2025 at the dealer just 9 days prior to the July 4th 2025 incident for its regular maintenance oil change, brake fluid flush, and valve adjustment.Read more

The vehicle experienced sudden loss of engine power accompanied by the illumination of the EPC (Electronic Power Control) warning light. The exact cause is fuel injection, but the issue appears related to the know EVAP problem on this car model. The problem may still be reproducible. The vehicle stalled multiple times while driving on a state highway (steady low load) and when approaching traffic.
... In each case, I had to come to a complete stop and restart the engine. This posed a serious risk of rear-end collisions or being struck by cross traffic, especially when power was lost during deceleration or merging. The EPC light appeared each time the issue occurred, immediately after the engine lost power. No other warning lights or messages were observed prior to/after the failure. The problem began occurring intermittently and without prior symptoms.Read more

ting to formally report an ongoing and unresolved safety issue with my vehicle that poses a serious risk both to myself and others on the road. The core issue appears to involve high-voltage faults and CAN bus voltage exceeding threshold limits—likely tied to the vehicle’s telematics system. Despite this, the vehicle is currently not communicating properly, and the diagnostics data are incons
... istent or inaccessible. Here are the key concerns: •The vehicle has shut down multiple times while in motion, creating a dangerous situation. •It is only achieving ~10 MPG, a drastic drop from expected efficiency. •I was explicitly told not to drive it until the problem is resolved due to safety concerns. •The dealership has refused to repair the issue and has provided false information regarding diagnostic codes, which I’ve recorded for documentation. •This problem has persisted for nearly a year without resolution. At this point, I’m left with a vehicle that is unsafe to operate and a dealer network unwilling to take accountability. I’m requesting a formal investigation into this matter, as it may reflect a broader systemic or manufacturer-level issue affecting others as well. I can provide supporting documentation, service records, and recordings of diagnostic readouts as needed. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Read more

No failed component was ever identified by multiple inspections by the Toyota dealership, the insurance company, the body shop and the 3rd party company hired by Toyota to download the ACM data and the Vehicle Control History. We had filed a complaint with the Toyota Brand Engagement center hoping Toyota would make a proper investigation. A police report was made also. No one was injured but the homeowner was standing a few feet away. It could have been much worse. There were no warning messages, the emergency braking did not engage, and the airbags did not deploy. Earlier in the day the car's proximity sensors were beeping with no indication of what was setting them off. It took 3 cycles of park to drive to stop the beeps. The driver even walked around the car to try to identify what was setting it off. After the crash the passenger side rear window went down by itself and the rear liftgate went up.
