Truck has 91,200 miles and was well maintained. Truck has a loud rattle (like rocks in a can) on dry start up after sitting for several days. Rattle goes away after starting and is consistent with worn CAM PHASERS, as shown in many videos on the internet describing this known problem with the Ford 3.5L ecoboost engine. Ford issued a customer reimbursement program for repairing this known defe

I’ve been experiencing a buzzing sound whenever I turn the steering wheel, and the more I drive the vehicle, the louder the noise becomes. I took it to a local shop, and they advised me that the power steering rack is going bad — a very common issue in 2017–2019 Ford Explorers, especially around the 100,000-mile mark. They provided a quote of $2,652.86 to have it replaced. I was also warned

The fuel pump filter housing is the cause of the malfunction, it is available for inspection upon request. When I am driving I intermittently lose fuel delivery altogether and my car comes to a halt for a second until I press on the gas pedal to get the car going again, this puts myself and other people in danger if my car randomly stops while I am driving around others and causes crash risk. A

But it has been inspected by the service center near me. An engine code was produced that pointed to the gas cap, but the gas cap was fine, which indicates fuel delivery issues. There was also shaking during acceleration prior to the incident happening. For approximately the last year (2024-2025) my 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 with the 6.2L engine has had noticeable ticking, knocking, and unprovoked shaking upon start up and idle. The pickup has stalled out at stop lights and intersections in the past, posing risk. In June (2025) the pickup was taken to a certified mechanic for inspection who suggested possible lifter or valve failure. The vehi
... cle exhibits a persistent ticking sound from the engine, which I believe may be related to lifter or valve issues, similar to those reported in lawsuits against GM for 2019-2024 models and the recall for 2021-2024 models (NHTSA Recall ID: 24V-676). This ticking occurs regularly, including at approximately 54,500 miles, and raises concerns about potential engine failure or sudden loss of propulsion, which could be hazardous, especially at highway speeds. I have noticed approximately 2 quarts of engine oil usage per my last 2 oil changes (roughly every 6,000 miles). I recently had taken the pickup to a local GM dealership where they informed me that I am not longer covered under warranty and the recent recall is not applicable. I was advised to “keep and eye on it, and get a AAA membership”. I am aware of at least 10 class action lawsuits against GM for similar engine issues in vehicles like mine, suggesting a widespread defect. These issues, combined with the potential for engine failure or impaired vehicle control, warrant investigation to ensure driver safety. I have records of the ticking sound and can provide further details if needed. I am willing to cooperate with NHTSA for inspections or further documentation.Read more

Essentially, I find the lack of emergency, unpowered door release for the back doors a little concerning. There is no way to open the door in the event that all power to the door latch fails. Even in newer models (at least of 3/Y/Cybertruck, that i know of) the emergency release is buried under the cupholder liner in the rear seat. Here is a youtube video showing a homebrew retrofit. It seem
... s like something like this should probably be provided to owners of this model of car. The internals of the door seem to make this feasible. [XXX] The front seats, on the other hand, have an easily accessed and intuitive emergency door release. I imagine that the rear seats differ from this model because of child safety locks. Just removing all emergency handles from the door seems like a pretty bad solution. I further understand that there are situations in which even an emergency door release will fail to open the door, and a glass break device is probably the ultimate recourse to this situation. But rear seat emergency egress really seems like a blind spot in NHTSA requirements at least. I shouldn't have to do an airline style safety briefing to my rear passengers in a consumer vehicle. GOOD DAY GENTLEMEN: THIS REPORT IS CONCERNING A KNOWN, ONGOING AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM WITH LEXUS LC500 CARS FROM 2018 UP TO AND INCLUDING 2025 COUPES AND CONVERTIBLES. THE DOOR/ACTUATORS FAIL AND OWNERS REPORT THAT THEY CANNOT OPEN THEIR DOORS AT ALL WITH OR WITHOUT THEIR KEY FOBS FROM THE OUTSIDE. FORTUNATELY I HAVE A 2024 COUPE AND THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED TO ME AS OF YET BUT I DO EXPECT IT TO HAPPEN EVENTUALLY BECAUSE I HAVE MULTIPLE INTERACTIONS WITH MANY LC500 OWNERS AND THIS IS REPORTED CONSTANTLY. I DO FEEL THAT THIS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AND AS A FEDERAL AGENCY I ASK YOU TO PLEASE CHECK INTO THIS TO SEE IF LEXUS CAN TAKE STEPS TO MITIGATE THIS SERIOUS PROBLEM. I WILL say that other than this isolated problem Lexus does in fact manufacture an excellent vehicle and I am very happy with mine. I am writing to report a serious tire failure incident involving a Hankook tire that came with my brand-new 2023 Honda HR-V. This unexpected failure poses a significant safety concern, and I believe it deserves further investigation to ensure no broader defect or issue exists.Read more

The windshield (visibility system) on my 2025 Hyundai Tucson (VIN: [XXX] ) was cracked on [XXX]. I immediately contacted the dealership where I purchased the vehicle (in New York), and later local Hyundai dealers in Florida where I now reside. I was informed that the windshield is on a nationwide OEM backorder with no estimated time of arrival (ETA). As of August 6, 2025, the part remains unavail
... able, and the vehicle has been inoperable for 57 days, parked in my garage. The crack makes the vehicle unsafe to drive, and due to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as lane keeping assistance and forward collision warning, the windshield requires proper OEM calibration post-installation, which cannot be performed until the correct part is secured. The issue was confirmed by multiple Hyundai dealers and 3rd-party glass installers, all of whom indicated they are unable to acquire the correct windshield due to Hyundai’s ongoing parts shortage. No resolution has been provided by Hyundai corporate. Although one vendor was referenced by the dealer, they too did not have the part available locally. Hyundai has offered limited rental reimbursement, but not enough to cover costs during this extended downtime. No inspection has been conducted by the manufacturer or insurance company beyond initial confirmation of the damage. No warning lights or messages preceded the incident — the issue is entirely due to the unavailability of a critical OEM part, making the vehicle unsafe and unusable. I’ve owned my 2012 Lincoln MKS for 3 years. A warning recently appeared saying “Power Steering Assist Fault,” and now the steering is very hard to turn, especially at low speeds. I’ve already paid around $1,800 in the past to fix this issue once, but now I’m experiencing the same or similar problems again. I haven’t had it officially diagnosed this time because both Ford and the dealer
... told me it wouldn’t be covered, since the recall (15S18) is now expired. This is a serious safety issue. The car is difficult to control and unsafe to drive. I’m a full-time worker and a father of two toddlers, and I’m still making payments on this car that I now can’t safely use — or only for short trips while constantly worrying about steering failure. I just found out about this old recall, and the dealership never told me anything about it when I bought the car used. I strongly believe I’m experiencing the same issue Ford previously recalled these vehicles for, and I’m asking NHTSA to investigate or reopen the recall so it can be repaired before me or my family is seriously injured.Read more

Update to ODI 11678614. This problem applies to non-FSD (Full Self Driving) Tesla Model Y cars. Tesla's manual describes Autopilot as Traffic Aware Cruise Control - it's the first step on non-FSD cars. The second step on non-FSD cars, Autosteer, is active lane keeping. In older Ys, the first stalk pull engages autopilot, second pull engages autosteer. 2026 Juniper doesn't have a stalk - a si
... ngle scroll wheel press engages both. I read the 300 page Juniper 2026 Model Y manual before driving it for the first time. On page 108, it lists 7 things that will cause autopilot to disengage. I presumed that comprehensive list was complete. unable to attach. Having *autopilot* disengage when turning the wheel in *autosteer* is not listed. During my 59K miles on my 2021 Model Y, I used autosteer for at least 20K miles. Turning the wheel in autosteer did *not* disengage autopilot. In my first emergency situation in the 2026 Juniper Model Y, turning the wheel *did* disengage autopilot, and the regen properly kicked in for the disengagement. This action came very close to causing a serious accident. My objections are 1) the action of *autopilot* (disengage / remain engaged) when the wheel is turned in *autosteer* is not documented, and 2) it's different between the old and new Ys using the same current software. I understand there were problems with autopilot remaining engaged, and perhaps the change was a good idea; that's an entirely different discussion. Make the action consistent and document it and I'm happy. Summary: In heavy traffic, while on autopilot / autosteer (cruise + active lane keeping), the car beside me suddenly tried to pull into my lane. I made an emergency lane change by turning the wheel, but the cruise also disengaged, (contrary to operation in the prior model) and went to maxiumum regen braking, causing the car behind me in the new lane to nearly rear-end me. Punching the accelerator during the surprising braking avoided the collision.Read more
