- Year: 2018 - Make: Honda - Model: Accord Sport 1.5 Turbo - Vehicle Identification Number : [XXX] I am writing to report a safety concern with my 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5 Turbo. The vehicle has developed a head gasket problem, which has resulted in significant engine issues. Additionally, I have experienced fuel injector problems, leading to decreased fuel efficiency and rough engine perfor
... mance. Despite following the recommended maintenance schedule and addressing the issues with the dealer, the problems persist. I have been quoted $7,800 for repairs, which is unacceptable given the vehicle's age and mileage (currently 114,848 miles). I am concerned about the safety and reliability of the vehicle, especially when driving on the highway. The vehicle's blown head gasket has caused ¹: - Loss of power, leading to potential safety issues on the road - Engine hesitation and shutdown while driving, which can increase the risk of accidents I request that NHTSA investigate this matter further and take necessary actions to address the recurring issues with the 2018 Honda Accord 1.5 Turbo engine. I would appreciate guidance on potential next steps to resolve this issue and ensure the vehicle's safety and reliability. - Repair estimates and records from the dealer - Maintenance records, including oil changes and fuel system cleanings - Correspondence with Honda dealership and corporate office Other owners have reported similar issues with the 2018 Honda Accord 1.5 Turbo, including fuel injector problems and blown head gaskets ² ³ ⁴. Please Help us. Investigate this issue and help us the consumers. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

The 1.5L turbo engine in my 2018 Honda CR-V is experiencing oil dilution. Raw fuel mixes with the engine oil, lowering flashpoint and thinning viscosity. This creates a fire risk, loss of lubrication, accelerated engine wear, and potential stalling. Honda issued TSBs, but the problem persists. This is a serious safety defect.

While driving on the interstate we were exiting to pull into a rest area while slowing down the rear wheels momentarily locked up and the truck downshifted hard and abruptly with that happening the check engine light came on along with a decreased power message. We pulled into a parking spot during so we tried to shift into reverse and it didn’t want to shift into reverse, we tried this for a wh
... ile. We finally got it into reverse and we were able to back out of the parking spot. When we tried shifting to drive we encountered the same issue. The vehicle did not want to go into drive. Once finally into drive it did not want to shift into any higher gears. It was essentially stuck in one of the gears. We made it to a GMC dealer on the next exit -we drove on the side of the interstate to get there- when we arrived we had them run the codes and they told us it was a transmission control valve which GMC has had a major recall on. While we had this “fixed” at a different dealership previously in march of 2025 it only entailed “updating the software” involving the transmission control valve. We had to leave the truck at the GMC dealer that we were able to ‘limp’ to in Crestview FL. We’ve been told our truck now needs an entirely new transmission that is going to cost $7,000. We had a similar issue right after the “software update for the transmission control valve” on march 20, 2025. The software was updated roughly a week before that incident which seemed to have cleared itself because it was momentarily and never happened again until now. Our safety was at risk because we had to drive on the side of the interstate to get to a shop because we were out of town and a tow truck was going to cost between 600-1000 dollars to get home.Read more

The bottom drainpipes appeared separated and needed to be re-glued. The sliding doors failed to latch and lock securely. The entertainment center door with the television and fireplace attached had detached from the hinges due to missing screws, and almost injured the contact's wife. The vehicle was towed to the dealer several times; however, the dealer only installed a door stop to prevent the door from opening into a glass window. Additionally, the mobile technician inspected the RV at the residence and took pictures of the failures, but no repair was performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The rear parking brake pivot point gets stuck in the on position. After some research, this is VERY common on these vans and is going to cause wrecks or deaths. The pivot point where the parking brake connects to the rear parking brake linkage rusts and gets stuck VERY easily. My van only has 60,000 miles on it. There is no sensor in this pivot point, so when you release the parking brake, it seem
... s like it is off—but it is not. No indication no warning.. Tire spun and van drove fine until the breaks failed. 100 miles down the road, my rear calipers were glowing red, which caused my rear parking brake to catastrophically fail, causing the rear tire to seize and almost leading to a wreck. Luckily, I had plenty of water on board to put out the rotor fire.Read more

The same thing happened last week while driving, when the passenger side headrest activated for NO reason, this time striking my wife in the head. I went back to the same dealership. They told me that this headrest is no longer covered under the warranty which has now expired in April of 2025. and would cost $800 to repair. They told me to call Stellantis and see if they would cover the repair. I went home and called Stellantis, whose customer service agent advised me that he was going to escalate my concern to his supervisor. I got a call today and they told me that my car is not covered by any warranty and that I would be responsible for the repair. My car VIN number does not fall under the recall which has expired. He also told me that Stellantis is not responsible for the repair and he should ask the dealer to see if they would possibly split the cost of the repair with me. My 2024 Ford Mustang is affected by Recall 25C43 / NHTSA Campaign No. 25V546 concerning water intrusion into the Body Control Module (BCM) that may cause exterior lighting failure. The dealer provided me with a written refusal, stating they “will not be able to perfor

By refusing inspection, the dealer has left me driving a car at risk of safety-critical lighting failure. I have also tried calling customer service at Volkswagon HQ, as well as the 800 numbers on my mailings. No luck. This is not acceptable. With such a dangerous issue, how can this be allowed? These cars need to be fixed.....many Volkswagon owners are TRYING to get them fixed....but Volkswagon is just shrugging their shoulders and saying there is nothing they can do. The primary component that failed is the brake caliper, which caused a dragging brake, overheating, and visible smoke after a brake pad replacement. This is a defect in a critical safety system, not routine wear and tear. The caliper failure, combined with rapid deterioration of the pads within only seven months of purchase, makes clear that the Jeep was sold to me with preexisting and undisclosed
... defects. The defective caliper and removed parts remain available for inspection. My safety and the safety of others were directly at risk. A dragging brake drastically reduces stopping ability, can cause sudden brake failure, and creates a fire hazard when smoke and heat build up. These risks make the vehicle unsafe for road use. In addition, there is a well-documented steering defect known as the “death wobble.” Some sources classify this under a recall, while others describe it as covered only by an extended warranty. This inconsistency has prevented me from obtaining clear assistance despite the serious safety implications. The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by a certified Jeep dealership. I have service records, dealer inspection notes, and photos documenting the condition, including metal-on-metal wear, dragging brake, and resulting smoke. The vehicle has been inspected by dealership technicians and is also under review with FCA, who have assigned a claim number. When I initially sought assistance, I was told the failures were “wear and tear.” That is inaccurate, as no reasonable consumer could cause this level of brake and steering deterioration in such a short period. I have been forced to pay out-of-pocket for defects clearly present at the time of sale, even though Carvana, SilverRock, and FCA denied responsibility. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, consumers are protected when vehicles are sold with hidden defects, regardless of warranty status. This Jeep was sold in unsafe condition. The caliper failure and death wobble are preexisting hazardsRead more

during a low speed parking lot stop the 2nd row bench came unlatched, the seat bottom dropped and slid forward. my [XXX] son who was in his forward facing car seat slammed into the back of the driver seat. then the bench seat was jammed in this position, he was smashed and stuck between his car seat and the driver seat, the bench seat would not move, it was stuck and my child was trapped, screami
... ng and bleeding from his face. i had to use the driver power seat functions to move it forward to get my child un trapped. once out we tended to his medical needs as he was bleeding from his face and screaming. the seat is still stuck in this forward/dropped position and will not move. the seat latch release handle has no resistance and will not do anything. his car seat was still smashed against the driver seat and i was unable to get it out from the side, i had to lift it out through the sunroof to get it out! we took him to local urgent care, he has a laceration on his eye, bruising, swelling and is very emotionally upset as are we. i do have a dash cam and have the footage of the seat slamming forward.
