I am filing this complaint because this vehicle has had multiple intermittent safety-related electrical/software and driver-assistance problems, and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has powered on but would not shift out of Park into Drive. The most recent time, I was leaving work and the vehicle would not let me shift into Drive. I was stuck
... there for about two hours and had to call for a tow. When the tow truck arrived, the vehicle suddenly allowed me to shift into Drive again and I was able to drive home. This is very concerning because the vehicle can leave someone stranded without warning. The vehicle has also falsely detected hazards or forward-collision situations several times while driving, even though there was no nearby vehicle, pedestrian, object, or anything else that should have triggered a warning. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has abruptly applied automatic emergency braking and slammed on the brakes for no apparent reason while traveling at 30-50 MPH. I am very concerned this could cause a crash, especially if another vehicle is behind me. The vehicle has also had charging and range display problems on multiple occasions. For example, last week it was charged to about 80% and then driven about 50 miles, but the displayed range/state of charge did not properly decrease or update until the vehicle was turned off and restarted about an hour later. These issues have continued despite prior dealer updates and recall work. The manufacturer has been notified, and the vehicle is being brought back to an authorized dealer for inspection. I do not know yet whether the dealer or manufacturer has been able to reproduce or confirm the problems. While accelerating to merge into traffic, the engine suddenly lost power and died completely. I lost power steering and power brakes, making it difficult to safely maneuver the vehicle to the shoulder. There was no warning light or unusual noise prior to the stall. On March 31, 2025 (136,962 miles), the vehicle was brought to Fred Anderson Nissan of [XXX] for Voluntary Emission Recall PD128 (NTB24-061), which required a new Particulate Matter Sensor and ECM reprogramming. ... Efficiency Below Specs). Repair Order #XXX states: "The new sensor that is now monitoring DPF is able to see this and is setting the code as designed." The dealer's own documentation confirms the fault code was triggered by the recall — not a pre-existing failure. The vehicle had no warning lights before the recall was performed. Nissan Consumer Affairs (Case #XXX) declined goodwill assistance citing mileage, without addressing the documented causal link between the recall and the fault code. The owner now faces a DPF replacement costing several thousand dollars as a direct result of complying with a manufacturer recall. Safety concern: A DPF in confirmed fault condition can trigger unexpected limp mode, including at highway speeds. If other PD128 recipients are experiencing the same recall-induced fault and cannot absorb the repair cost, those vehicles may be operating in a compromised condition. We request NHTSA investigate whether Recall PD128 is creating safety and repair liability for consumers who complied in good faith. I want to start off by saying that I have taken meticulous care of this vehicle and the intention was to keep this truck forever. However, that will not be possible after this incident. I was driving the vehicle at 60 mph when I noticed smoke coming out of the back of the vehicle and at that moment, the dash cluster started warning to shut off the engine immediately due to a lack of oil. ... here was plenty of oil in the engine because I just had the oil changed at a shop two weeks prior to the incident. I was able to verify that it was a total of 22 seconds from the time I noticed the smoke to the time I was able to pull off safely and shut the engine off. At that time, the engine had not seized, and I was able to manually shut off the engine on my own. I never tried to restart the engine and I had it towed to a shop that was nearby. 48 hours later the mechanic inspected it and discovered that the oil cooling line had somehow disconnected from the engine block, which had resulted in a catastrophic loss of oil. When that repair was made, the mechanic discovered that the engine would not start either by hand or automatically and deemed the engine to be seized. The engine in question is the Chevrolet 6.2L L87 engine that was involved in a manufacturer recall for models made in 2020 through 2024. My vehicle is the 2019 model and although there have been numerous occasions that I’ve been able to find in only a short period of research that revealed similar issues with a 2019 L87 6.2L engine, there still is no official recall on my specific model year. It was 1:30 in the morning, and I was rushing my sick dog to the emergency vet when this happened. Not only did it cause a major inconvenience trying to get him there in a timely manner, but our safety was also compromised in the process.Read more

... nge, it can start calls to any of your contacts including emergency #s. The only way to stop this from happening is to turn off the screen. However if the radio is on, you can not turn it off. This results in the driver constantly having to divert their attention to the radio /infotainment system from the road. It is extremely distracting and very unsafe. This is a known issue and there is no active recall. As far as I can tell this has not been fixed in replacements, simply a new version of the same radio is put into the car. I would expect that this has or will create accidents if is nor recalled. As these cars age, this will get worse for all of them. I did reach out to honda and they informed me there is no recall. On 17th April 2026, while traveling at approximately 65 mph on a highway in Pennsylvania around 1:00 AM, the vehicle suddenly shut down without warning. This created an extremely hazardous situation for my family. We contacted roadside assistance, but no help arrived until approximately 8:00 AM. Due to freezing temperatures and lack of heat in the vehicle, we were forced to call 911 for assistance and were transported to a nearby hotel around 3:30 AM. The vehicle was subsequently towed to a dealership, where diagnostics were performed. We were informed that the issue was related to a coding or malfunction and that it had been resolved. However, just two days later, while returning home, the exact same issue occurred again under similar conditions—vehicle shutdown at highway speed. Once again, we were stranded at night, forced to rely on emergency services, and did not reach home until approximately 4:30 AM. This pattern of failure is unacceptable and represents a severe safety defect. My family’s safety was put at significant risk on two separate occasions.
