On or about [XXX], I leased a 2025 Mazda CX-90 PHEV Premium Sport from Bob Penkhus Mazda, Colorado Springs, CO. Within approximately six weeks, on [XXX], while traveling south on [XXX] from Pueblo toward Walsenburg, the vehicle experienced severe loss of power under load. Despite the accelerator being fully depressed, the vehicle would not exceed 74 mph on the initial incline and later would not a
... ccelerate past 64 mph near La Veta Pass, even in sport mode. During an attempt to pass a slow-moving truck, the vehicle failed to accelerate, forcing me to brake hard to avoid a head-on collision. My fiancée and our infant twins were in the vehicle at the time. I immediately contacted Service Manager Steven Constable at Bob Penkhus Mazda. The dealership retained the vehicle for inspection but claimed they “could not duplicate” the issue because “they don’t have mountains to drive it up.” No repairs were made. Instead, I was told to “drive it for 30 days to monitor,” despite the documented safety risk. I refused to assume that risk and requested a repurchase, replacement, or trade into a non-PHEV model. I even offered to accept a lower-trim base model, provided it had captain’s chairs, and to continue paying my current monthly amount. The dealership and General Manager A.J. Ager rejected this and demanded that I personally pick up the unrepaired vehicle, although they knew I live three hours away in Monte Vista and Mazda advertises complimentary pickup service. Dear NHTSA, I am writing to formally report a concern regarding the handling of reimbursement under Safety Recall 93C (NHTSA 25V-586) for my 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia. On March 11, 2025, several months before the recall was announced, I paid $3,995.59 out of pocket at Foreign Cars Italia Charlotte to repair severe driveability issues, including: Loss of engine power while driving “Electronic th
... rottle control” and “check engine” warnings Difficulty accelerating, reduced fuel flow, and stalling risk These symptoms are directly consistent with the defect described in Safety Recall 93C, which involves the Fuel Delivery Module (FDM) and the risk of power loss due to heat-related fuel flow restriction. I recently received a recall notification letter for the 93C issued in September 2025, I contacted Alfa Romeo Customer Care and filed for reimbursement (Reference Number [XXX]). Despite providing full documentation — including the paid invoice and recall notice — my claim was denied. Their written response (attached) stated: “The vehicle is outside of its warranties… Parts and labor that were completed are not related to any recall including 93C.” This reasoning conflicts with the federal reimbursement provisions under 49 CFR §573.13, which require manufacturers to reimburse owners for pre-recall repairs that address the same defect, regardless of warranty status. My repair addressed the same malfunction now acknowledged as a safety defect, and I bore the full cost before the recall was publicly announced. I respectfully request that NHTSA review this matter and encourage Stellantis / FCA US LLC to re-evaluate my claim in accordance with recall reimbursement regulations. This situation raises both a consumer fairness issue and a safety concern, as the vehicle exhibited the same dangerous loss-of-power condition months before the manufacturer recognized it as a defect. Thank you for your time and assistance in reviewing this case. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 URead more

Last year in 2024 our vehicle started having significant issues with the transmission. Later, I searched online and discovered that other people have experienced this same problem. Some of the information I read suggested that water can get into a component, and it had been raining on the day of the incident and the day before. My primary safety concern is what would have happened if I had been approaching a stoplight or driving on a freeway where I needed to stop suddenly. I am confident that I would not have been able to stop in time to avoid a crash. It is frightening to think of what could happen if a child were to run into the street and this happening. I immediately made an appointment with my local Jeep dealership. The dealer has since driven the vehicle 98 miles but has not yet been able to replicate the issue.Read more

I was able to at least coast into a parking lot, and bump the car into a concrete barrier, and a tree infront of the barrier. The car would not respond to park, neutral or the emergency brake. I tried re-booting the car 3 times and nothing. I had to call a tow truck to tow to the Tesla Service Center in Clermont, Florida. They could not get it in park either and had to drag the Tesla onto the flatbed. After 5 days of not responding to my text, I walked into another Tesla service center to plead my problem. Long story short, there is an unexplained anomaly that is in the CANBUS and cannot duplicate the error. More $ to have to tested for another week. They gave me a loaner to use, a Model S. After a few days driving it the loaner screen went blank and I was stranded. I had their loaner towed back to the service center. They will not 100% address the problem. Complete engine failure on our 2017 Honda Pilot EX-L on October 7, 2025. We purchased it new in 2017 and have maintained it per Honda recommendations, including oil changes. We have all of the records to support this. Based on research and the audio diagnosis from two separate mechanics (one being Honda), the failure was likely caused by a known connecting rod bearing issue that led to a recall o
... f 249K Hondas in 2023. Please include this in the NHTSA ODI evaluation PE25008, which is considering expanding the scope of that recall based on 414 additional incidents after the recall. Incident Timeline & Diagnostic Summary October 7, 2025 (≈12:30 PM) -Took the vehicle to Anthony’s Auto for an audio diagnosis based on a knocking sound. --Technician reported: knocking sound was slower than the piston rate, indicating a likely --rod bearing failure, leading to an inevitable and complete engine failure. --Technician confirmed: Oil level was normal (at the proper level). -Anthony’s Auto cautioned not to drive on the freeway, stating the engine could fail at any time. -I drove the vehicle home; less than ¼ mile from our house, the engine seized (knock → failure). I put the car in neutral and drifted into our neighborhood. -Vehicle was towed by AAA to Marin Honda (appointment scheduled for October 8). October 8, 2025 (~5:10 PM) -Marin Honda contacted us with their initial diagnosis and options: --Honda acknowledged that they had changed the oil at their facility in June 2025, per the schedule and criteria as recommended by Honda. --Marin Honda confirmed the oil was at the proper level. Metal shavings were found in the engine oil during their inspection. --To fully diagnose the issue, they would need to take apart the entire engine. Teardown & reassembly “as-is” (i.e. no new engine) — $3,500 total. --Teardown + installation of a refurbished engine, where the hours/parts from teardown would be credited toward replacement. Quoted $9,000–$10,000 for the refurb engine.Read more

The rear subframe of my 2015 Porsche Macan has suffered severe corrosion to the extent that it was no longer safe to operate the vehicle. This corrosion led to an unexpected failure of the subframe, causing the rear end of the vehicle to essentially collapse. As a result, significant damage occurred to both the control arms and the rear differential. A local independent repair shop specializing i
... n German-made vehicles (Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, VW) assessed the subframe and confirmed that it was in extremely poor condition, having prematurely rotted and failed. Porsche offers a 12-year limited warranty against corrosion for body panels, but this warranty does not extend to the subframe. The cost of repairs to address the damage, performed by the independent shop, amounted to $3,600. It is worth noting that this issue is widely recognized among owners of 2015-2018 Porsche Macan and Audi Q5 models, as both vehicles share the same subframe. The problem appears to stem from a design flaw related to the inferior materials used in the construction of the subframe. Porsche is aware of this recurring issue, yet has not taken any corrective action to resolve it.Read more

They kept car a few days we were very reluctant to take vehicle back, out of these safety concerns, and my family having to ride in this vehicle. After the update it did, it will only drive like 20 feet. We lost acceleration and power in the middle of a busy road numerous times. Had to restart the vehicle every time.
