Dealer Confirmation: Kia of Round Rock confirmed low compression (Cylinder 3 at 102 PSI). Kia of Killeen falsely stated the recall was completed; while the car was in their care, it would not crank. Inspections: Vehicle inspected by Kia dealerships. No police or insurance inspections. Kia Consumer Affairs contacted for escalation. Warning Signs: A brief dashboard warning light appeared (not engine light) before failure and disappeared quickly. Vehicle experienced stalling while attempting recall repair in February/March. Problem Description: Failure is consistent with Recall 25V099 (SC336) for faulty piston oil rings. Kia of Round Rock confirmed low compression, but the service advisor stated it was “unrelated to the recall” and quoted a $7,476.32 engine rebuild. I took my 2024 Chevrolet Suburban to get repairs associated with GM safety recall N252494000 - L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion. My vehicle "passed" the test, so the "correction" employed by GM is that "vehicles that pass inspection will be provided a higher viscosity oil, which will also require a new oil fill cap, an oil filer replacement, and an owner's manual insert." All of this was done free
... of charge. However, the owner's manual insert states that "For future engine oil changes, use SAE OW 40" oil. This updated owner's manual insert, which is provided as a solution to GM's recall of a faulty connecting road and/or crankshaft, causes the future costs of oil changes to increase from $160.00 to $230.00. Assuming quarterly oil changes, this will increase the cost of operating this vehicle to increase by $2,800 over an estimated 10 year lifespan. This increase should be covered by GM. GM sent me a letter that states, "If your dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect without charge, or within a reasonable amount of time, you may submit a written complaint to the Administrator, NHTSA." By passing on the cost of the increase in oil change for all future oil changes, GM failed to remedy this defect without charge. I submit this claim because GM filed to remedy this defect without charge. Please see highlighted portions of attached documents in support.Read more

I purchased my 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe on October 29, 2021. Since then, I’ve experienced a series of mechanical and electrical failures that I believe are far beyond normal for a vehicle of this age. - The remote start has never worked. - On October 20, 2023, the hatch latch failed. The only way to open it now is by climbing into the back and manually pulling the latch. - On October 27, 2023, the
... electric power steering failed. I had to replace the entire steering column at a cost of $4,000. - The paint began deteriorating prematurely and required a full repair. Hyundai covered this under warranty, but the cost was $8,000. - In early spring 2025, all coil packs had to be replaced due to misfires, costing approximately $500. - September 4, 2025, The car stalled while I was driving on a main road and I had to pull over. There were no warning lights and I started home. About a mile from home check engine light came on so contact mechanic. Ended up towing to a dealership and was told the engine must be replaced because the oil had burned off without any warning from the oil light indicator. The turbo also needs replacement. - The combined cost is $14,000. These failures have caused significant financial hardship and stress. I am currently $17,000 underwater on the loan, and the repair costs are overwhelming. The lack of warning before catastrophic engine damage is especially concerning. I believe these issues reflect systemic defects in the vehicle’s design and manufacturing. The repeated failure of critical components—especially the steering system and oil monitoring—make this the worst automotive experience I’ve ever had. I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate these failures and determine whether Hyundai should be held accountable. Consumers deserve protection from vehicles with such extensive and costly problems.Read more

NHTSA Complaint Update : Final Submission Subject: AMENDMENT for 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Rollaway: Confirmed CAN Bus Communication Failure & Pattern Consistent with Recall 16V-368 I am submitting this update to my original complaint regarding a life-threatening rollaway incident on April 4, 2025, involving my 2015 Land Rover Range Rover (VIN: [XXX] .) New Critical Information: Diagnostic
... Confirmation: During evaluation by Jaguar Land Rover North America (JLRNA), the vehicle registered the fault code: “High Speed CAN Communication Bus Missing Message.” JLRNA’s engineer confirmed this indicates the rotary gear selector failed to communicate with the transmission, meaning the vehicle could display “Park” while remaining in gear. Prior Malfunction: Days before the rollaway, the gear selector became stuck in Reverse, requiring a battery disconnect to reset the system demonstrating a repeatable electronic instability in the shift-by-wire system. Severe Injury: The rollaway resulted in the vehicle striking and rolling over me, causing crush trauma and rhabdomyolysis with CPK levels of 10,000 U/L a near- fatal medical emergency. Safety Concern: This failure mode false Park indication due to electronic shifter communication loss is functionally identical to the defect addressed in NHTSA Recall 16V-368 (FCA, 2016), which cited rollaways, injuries and death due to rotary shifters that “do not provide clear indication of actual gear position.” Jaguar Land Rover uses a similar monostable rotary shifter design with no mechanical feedback. Given the severity of this incident and the confirmed communication fault, I urge NHTSA to investigate whether this represents a broader safety defect affecting JLR vehicles. The vehicle remains in JLRNA’s custody. I have formally requested preservation of all electronic data and components. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. It would only open part way, barely or sometimes not open at all. One instance, my dog's tail got stuck in the hatch and it would not open. I had to force it open and thankfully I am able to do that. January of 2025 I took the car into Will's Toyota in Tw
... in Falls, ID (where I purchased it new) and they told me that my option was to replace the hydraulic struts that were $1000 for the service. I took the car in on 10/23/25 due to the issue getting worse to have them replace the hydraulic struts. The dealership said they've had a lot of cars with the same issue. I just do not understand how a company can sell a car and a major part of the car fail conveniently when the warranty is to expire. Oh and I called Toyota customer service to complain and they said they don't keep track of this kind of thing...Read more

While driving home from a wedding with a passenger in my car, the engine for my Jeep Patriot stalled several times. The car would come to a stop and was difficult to control when the stalling occurred, putting both myself and my passenger at risk of a traffic accident. The car was towed to an independent service center which documented in their reports the engine stalling repeatedly. This independ
... ent service center was not able to alleviate the issue despite replacing the crankshaft and camshaft sensors. I then took the car to my local Jeep dealership, which performed further repairs on the crankshaft sensor and wiring harnesses, thereby resolving the problem. The vehicle and components were not inspected by any other parties to my knowledge. There were no warning lights or prior indication that the engine was about to stall, adding to the danger associated with this incident.Read more

I was sent this carseat to do a review through Stellar Panel. At instillation the car seat does not sit well in rear facing, no matter how tight the belt path goes, it still moves more than an inch at the base when checking for tightness. While parked and trying to install, with one push the car seat was on it's side, and I did not feel comfortable with my toddler riding rear facing in this seat

GMC customer care representative & local GMC service department supervisor unable to help. 2017 Acadia Shift to Park message. It’s Difficult to turn the car off. The vehicle refuses to acknowledge the park position. Potential rollaway hazard. You may inspect. Took it to GMC service & confirmed it is a prevalent issue: Transmission control 13534320 = gearshift assembly & Jumper harness 84733196.
... This problem has been recurring for several years and I have problem solved how to shut the car off. GMC customer care rep said it’s an issue with all 2017 Acadias and tried to help. The system deemed it complicated case & escalated it to a Supervisor. She read a “customer care” script. After talking, she admitted that realistically GMC would not help. Yesterday, she advised me to file a complaint with NHTSA. I read that 2 other states Ohio & Tennessee won class action lawsuits because of the hazardous shift to park issue. If GMC issued recalls for 2017 Acadia shift to park then my 2017 GMC Acadia should have been included. I have been waiting for the recall for several years. GMC admits the problem is prevalent in 2017 GMC Acadias. Would you please issue a recall associated with this issue and link it to my VIN. Thank you.Read more

I am filing this report regarding my 2018 Acura MDX that has experienced complete engine failure directly related to the Connecting-Rod Bearing Safety Recall (NHTSA Recall 23V-751) and Acura’s failure to perform the recall when I first reported issues. In 2024, my vehicle began showing engine trouble codes (P0159) and experienced reduced acceleration and check engine light warnings. I contacted
... Acura corporate and opened a case, explaining that the vehicle was exhibiting symptoms similar to those described in the recall, including engine hesitation and performance issues. I also took the vehicle to Acura of Chattanooga on Chapman Road, where I worked with Tara, a service advisor who acknowledged remembering my repeated attempts to get the recall addressed. Despite this, the recall repair was never performed, and I was treated rudely and dismissed each time. Over the past two years, I have made multiple documented attempts to have the recall completed. Each time, Acura failed to take action or stated that parts or authorization were unavailable. In 2025, my vehicle displayed Code P0430 (Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold, Bank 2) and ultimately suffered complete engine failure. The issues with oil circulation, catalytic converter performance, and acceleration are consistent with the rod bearing defect Acura has acknowledged as part of this recall. Recently, Acura informed me that my recall was “completed,” even though the engine is now inoperable. This is unacceptable, as the recall was meant to prevent this exact type of engine damage, and Acura had two years of opportunity to address the issue before failure occurred. The current situation has left me with a non-functioning engine, significant repair costs, and a serious safety concern that could have been prevented if Acura had honored its recall responsibilities in a timely manner. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate Acura’s handling of this recall and their pattern of delaying or denying recall repairsRead more
