While driving my 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S, I experienced a sudden loss of regenerative braking, which caused the vehicle to take much longer to stop than normal. On initial brake application, deceleration was greatly reduced and required substantially more pedal travel and pressure to bring the vehicle to a stop. A “Regenerative Braking Failure” warning appeared in the instrument cluster. At the
... same time, the vehicle’s power output dropped. The display showed multiple warnings, including Electrical Vehicle System Fault (wrench-and-bolt icon) and Reduced Power (“turtle”). A message appeared stating that the vehicle would shut down soon. Additional messages indicated that the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) systems were disabled, further reducing braking support and collision avoidance capabilities. I was able to stop safely, shifted to Park, and powered off the vehicle. After opening and closing the driver’s door, I waited for all displays and indicator lights to turn off completely. A distinct mechanical clunk was then heard, consistent with the sound of high-voltage contactors disengaging. When I restarted the vehicle, all warnings cleared, and it drove normally again. This event created a potential safety risk due to the unexpected loss of regenerative braking, reduced propulsion power, and temporary disabling of FCW and AEB systems. The issue has not recurred, and the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the dealer or manufacturer.Read more

Dear Audi Product Safety Division and NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation, I am writing to formally document a safety defect in my 2019 Audi e-tron Prestige (VIN [XXX] ), which exhibits the same brake-system failure described in Audi’s brake-booster recall – Campaign 46P6 / NHTSA Recall 24V-621, despite Audi’s system not listing my VIN as covered. Vehicle Details Make/Model: 20
... 19 Audi e-tron Prestige VIN: [XXX] Build Date: 05/19 (per manufacturer label) Mileage: [insert current mileage] Primary Location: Lynwood, Illinois Defect Summary My vehicle repeatedly displays: “Parking Brake Malfunction” and “Brake System Fault” warnings. A clicking noise or resistance when pressing/releasing the brake pedal. The brake pedal occasionally fails to return fully to its normal position. On one occasion, the vehicle rolled slightly while parked. These symptoms match those described in Audi’s recall 46P6, which involves improper assembly of the bolt connection between the brake-pedal input rod and brake-booster actuator rod. Interaction with Audi Corporate On [insert date], I contacted Audi of America Customer Experience (1-800-253-2834) to report this as a safety issue. During multiple calls, including one with a supervisor, I: Requested that Audi open a Safety Concern / Product Technical Case for review by Product Safety Engineering. Explained that my vehicle’s May 2019 build date places it within the recall’s production range. Was informed that no process exists to document or escalate a VIN for review. When the conversation became confrontational, I ended the call after stating that I would involve legal counsel. Additional Note on Call Conduct During that final conversation, the Audi supervisor asked if I “wanted to argue with him.” I responded that I was not arguing, that I can disagree while stating facts and federal law, and clarified that he was also arguing against the factual information I provided. The rear lightbar assembly on our 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat has developed micro-cracks in the outer lens, allowing moisture to accumulate inside. This has caused flickering or inoperative reverse lamps and now appears to be impacting the rear passenger blinker, which functions intermittently. We are concerned that the moisture has begun to corrode the rear wiring harness or electrical syste
... m, creating additional safety risks. When we reported the issue, a Kendall Ford representative told us the rear lightbar replacement was “mainly cosmetic,” but that assessment contradicts both Ford’s recall documentation and our experience. Moisture intrusion has already led to intermittent lighting failures that reduce signaling visibility to other drivers, posing a real risk of collision. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer and a Ford Field Service Engineer dispatched from Dearborn, who inspected the truck in 2025 after the same recall repair (23S30) failed. Ford has since issued a new recall (25V731 / 25S86) acknowledging improper dealer repairs as the cause. Visible condensation, flickering lights, and intermittent “charging system fault” and “sensor unavailable” messages began shortly after the 2023 recall repair and have continued to worsen. The vehicle remains in our possession and is available for inspection by NHTSA or Ford corporate upon request.Read more

On August 26, 2025, I brought my 2018 Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid to an authorized dealer for recall SC218 (engine inspection and KSDS software update). The dealer verbally stated both SC218 and SC278 recalls were completed, and the repair order (RO #XXX) lists them as performed. In September 2025, Kia America emailed me showing recall SC218 still open, and a warranty coverage report dated Septembe
... r 26, 2025, again listed SC218 as unclosed. On November 4, 2025, NHTSA’s official VIN lookup confirmed the recall remains “Incomplete.” On October 21, 2025, Kia America emailed me under Case #XXX stating that SC218 was “confirmed completed” and that the dealer performed a software update to the ECU, referencing RO #XXX. However, NHTSA’s database still lists recall SC218 as incomplete. This contradiction between Kia America’s internal record, the dealer’s invoice, and the federal NHTSA database raises a serious safety concern that the recall inspection or software update was never actually performed or was never reported correctly. I have requested written proof and diagnostic data (Battery SOH report) multiple times but have not received them. If accurate, this means I was led to believe my vehicle’s engine-safety recall had been repaired when federal records still list it as open. I am requesting NHTSA to review this reporting discrepancy, ensure Kia America and the dealer produce verifiable proof of completion, and confirm that the federal record is corrected. This exact situation has occurred twice in the past 6000 miles driven. Both occurred while driving at highway speeds, once on I85N and once on I75N in GA. Our 2023 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid suddenly and unexpectedly loss power and shutdown. This forced us to make an emergency stop and attempt to pull over in high speed, heavy traffic in both instances. The vehicle eventually restarted and was driva

The first time this occur the vehicle was taken back to Ford under warranty and they said they reprogrammed the PCM and another control module and assured us it was repaired. Obviously that is not the case. The vehicle is currently with Ford being diagnosed. Please follow up on this one. We're not the only Maverick Hybrid owners to have this unfortunate and very unsafe experience. This situation of a vehicle suddenly dying in heavy traffic is going to get someone killed. Thanks in advance for your consideration in this matter. We would like a better explanation from Ford besides "We reprogrammed a computer".Read more

My vehicle remained at Classic Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Arlington from 14 April 2025 through 28 April 2025 (14 days). On 30 April 2025, two days after getting the vehicle back from the dealership on 28 April 2025 the roof leaked yet again only worse than previous leaks being that the roof was leaking on both the drivers and passenger sides resulting in water damage to both doors and it's electrical components, the dashboard and it's components, the seats, floorboard and the bottom of vehicle had started presenting with rust. On 2 May 2025, after checking the vehicle after rain the night before I determined that the vehicle roof had leaked yet again resulting in 3-5 inches of rain puddling in the floorboard of the vehicle and the instrument panel was skewed, water dripping from under the dashboard and speakers, the driver side seats were soaked and water running down the passenger side door and window. This vehicle has leaked from the roof on 13 separate occasions. Then I returned the vehicle due to loud noise from the front of my vehicle rep stated he didn’t hear it. Then I had to return the vehicle due to brakes squealing very loud. At 5000-7900 miles I was told I needed brakes all around my vehicle. No warranty was applied I paid cash. Left the shop and the noise from the front continued and the squealing from the brakes was still very loud. I brought it back to the shop for treatment care. The rep stated it was a leaf in the front of my engine and he put some special oil on the brakes to stop the squealing but to no avail. The noise continued in both places. I brought the car back for my second treatment and then I was told they hear the noise in the front. They kept the car for a couple of days called me and stated the head dash board was burnt out. The same complaint I was making light flashing and noise. I went to pick the vehicle up stated my warranty had to cover almost $11,000 worth of work. I was devastated, depressed and then I asked is the car safe for me to drive the rep said yes. I was afraid but I had to take my car and leave. I left with tears in my eyes. My vehicle had a faulty PCV valve that was under "Stop Drive," order. I received no correspondence from the NHTSA nor from BMW of North America in regards to this. It was finally picked up, towed to the dealership for repairs related to the PCV recall. The PCV valve was replaced and my vehicle was returned to me in undriveable condition. None of the rough idle, burning smell or engine issues were attended to. They simply replaced the valve without further investigation into the damage done by continued driving of a "Stop Drive," order. BMW of North America is placing blame solely on the NHTSA for not sending me correspondence relative to this recall. My vehicle was identified as having the faulty Takata airbags and I received all of the documents sent by both the NHTSA and BMW USA. I now have a undriveable, unsafe vehicle due to the servicer simply replacing a recalled object but not the damage caused by continuing to drive a vehicle that should have had immediate service. I had repairs done to my Jeep in April 2024. At that time, I was made aware that my ABS control module was faulty and no longer functioning. I have been periodically checking with my mechanic and online to check the status of this part, only to find that it has been an ongoing issue with some models having this part unavailable since 2019. At the end of October 2025, I began having a major safety
... issue in which my Jeep's engine will shut off without warning and the only reason I will be aware is because the wheel will no longer turn easily (trying to turn without power steering). In addition, there will at times be a fluctuation of power either having a an extreme spike or drop in RPMs causing the Jeep to lurch while driving. The cruise control cannot be used with this issue, and I have also experienced malfunctions in the traction control (i.e. hydroplaning in a very small puddle in the road that a normal car could handle, let alone a Jeep). I have been waiting patiently for a year and a half and there are no updates available for Jeep owners, and the issues caused by this lack of parts could cause fatalities on the road or leave individuals with a very expensive, undrivable vehicle followed by the additional cost of purchasing a new vehicle. This is unacceptable for an extremely large and popular vehicle manufacturer to be unable to come to an agreement with parts manufacturers to resume production of a crucial vehicle part.Read more

Steering makes a clicking noise and will pull either direction while driving straight. I took it to the dealership and they want me to pay for the repair. They state that the problem is the steering coupler. To me this is a safety issue, they said my warranty is expired so they wont cover the cost. I am afraid to drive it. It is also making my tires wear to fast and they are new.

The above would not let me check ALL of the boxes. I’m having continued problems with my 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid Touring, with every warning light on the car all of a sudden starts flashing and eventually the car looses complete power. This is the third time it has happened to me, and after taking it to two different Honda dealerships, no one can tell me what is going on, and then they send me bac
... k out on the road, only for it to happen again. Every warning light on the car lights up and every bell goes off. Yet, no one can tell me a thing! It’s resulted in me being stranded and the car inoperable.Read more
