My 2025 Honda Odyssey has been completely shutting off after the stop-start shuts the engine off. When the car actually “stalls” is when I let off the brake and it’s time to start going. Then I hear a ding, the dash lights come on, and I have to frantically hit the ignition button to restart my car. This happens intermittently, without warning. I've been stuck at redlights afraid I will be r
... ear ended because all of a sudden I can't move forward at a green light. My and others safety is at risk. Honda does not allow the start/stop to be disabled by default. It has to be disabled, manually, by the driver, every single time the car is restarted. So you can't just ignore this problem by shutting off the feature when the feature won't allow itself to be shut off by default.Read more

Our engine went at 100,800 miles, costing us $15k in June 2025. Then our transmission went 3 months later, now costing us another $7k. GM is offering very little financial assistance. It's quite inconvenient that these major mechanical issues occur right after factory warranty. It is at a dealer getting fixed, again, but how can this be ok with GM to see their product be such a failure for consume
... rs? Recall or not, this has left a horrible taste in our mouth for GM/Chevy vehicles. We will no longer trust the longevity of their vehicles and will educate others to be weary on purchasing vehicles. We can understand mechanical failures over time, but not to this extent, and we're very disappointed in the customer service and available assistance for someone that just spent nearly $23k on a vehicle that's less than 5 years old.Read more

This vehicle requires 1-2 quarts of oil to be added to it weekly. It's all over the internet that many different models of Hyundais consume excessive amounts of oil. This puts others at risk due to damaging the engine and the possibility that the car will just stop completely while driving it. We have records to show how often and how much we have to add more oil every week.

The vehicle is affected by a high-voltage battery defect related to thermal runaway and fire risk. The hybrid-electric drive system has been unusable for long periods of time, resulting in the vehicle being unavailable or not able to be used as intended for more than half of the time I have owned it. I took it to a repair shop that works on luxury cars and they fixed it for less than 1000 dollars. We escalated it to corporate that reviewed my case and said they still would not fix until it produced a code. Mercedees implemented an extended warranty for my car back in 2022 for emissions. They said they would cover it if it produces a code. I researched this problem and it said it posses a risk to me, my passengers and the public if it quits running or causes a fire. I'm writing to report serious ongoing safety issues with my vehicle. Initial Service Visit (September 2024): I brought my vehicle in for two issues: Clicking noise when braking Trunk randomly closing on its own, which had hit my wife multiple times while loading groceries The dealership replaced the disconnects but stated they could not fix the trunk issue. New and Ongoing Problems: Since that s
... ervice visit, the problems have worsened: The car now vibrates when backing up Clicking noises when braking continue The brakes feel like they're struggling to engage during sudden braking or in wet conditions The trunk issue persists and has become dangerous Most Recent Dealership Visit (Yesterday): I was told the trunk closing issue is "normal," but this is unacceptable for the following reasons: The trunk continues to hit my wife My [XXX] son was nearly trapped in the back when the trunk closed while he was putting on his cleats—he wasn't strong enough to stop it, and I had to run over to prevent him from being locked inside We nearly rear-ended another vehicle due to the brake problems Current Situation: My wife refuses to drive the vehicle with our children because she no longer feels safe. The car is currently at the dealership while they investigate, but at this point, I would like to explore options to exit my lease due to these unresolved safety concerns. This complaint is in regard to the most recent recall on Dodge Darts, the transmission shifter cable detachment. I was in the process of parking my car on an incline. All was normal. I had been out running errands, driving, and shifting for a few hours. The gear shift felt disconnected from anything; there was no effort required to move it back and forth in the shift. The car was not recognizing
... any movement I was making with the gear shift, and would not lock into place for any gear. I had to hold my foot on the brake even while "shifted" into park; otherwise, I would drift backwards into the car behind me, and potentially into a ditch/creek. I had to call for help to stabilize my car, with bricks behind the tires and a 25-pound weight left on the brake so I could exit the vehicle. We had to lift and open the gear shift to the compartment underneath and manually shift the car into park. During this, we unfortunately broke something under the gear shift. This happened on a Sunday evening (July 20), so no repair person was available to help me. Chrysler refused to offer any assistance or information about the last recall of this issue, and advised me to call the dealership that did the repair (they would not tell me which one I went to, just that it was marked complete in 2019). I know I went to a Shorkey location, but not which. I called three Jim Shorkey Dodge locations in Pittsburgh, and they all refused responsibility. I was told to call Chrysler again. I did not, because why would I? A local mechanic was able to acquire the part from Dodge to "fix" the issue. However, he had to override the safety mechanism that causes the car to recognize what gear the car is in before it can turn off. So now I have to drive around, hoping I don't accidentally press the power button and shut off my car on the road. The car was inspected by a representative from Progressive. They determined a mechanical failure and denied my claim for coverage. This is BS.Read more

The vehicle’s multimedia screen intermittently displays a message prompting to “enter 6-digit PIN.” This message frame appears randomly and covers the center of the screen, including while the vehicle is in motion. When this occurs, the navigation display becomes blocked, creating a potential safety hazard as the driver’s view of navigation instructions is obstructed. To clear the message
... , the driver must manually press the “X” icon and then reselect the map display. This action requires driver attention and physical interaction with the screen while driving, increasing the risk of distraction and compromising safe vehicle operation. The issue occurs unpredictably—sometimes after several days, sometimes within minutes, or even immediately after pressing X to close the message. This recurring behavior significantly limits the use of navigation and other vehicle functions, effectively impairing normal and safe vehicle operation. Toyota dealer advised contacting the Brand Engagement Center. The Brand Engagement Center referred back to the dealer, suggesting the issue may be “mechanical.” The dealer reports that the vehicle is functioning normally. This creates a closed loop in which neither the dealer nor Brand Engagement Center accepts responsibility for resolving the issue. As a result, the safety concern remains unaddressed. Toyota should investigate and provide a definitive resolution to prevent the multimedia system from displaying the PIN prompt while the vehicle is in motion.Read more

While attempting to change a flat tire on a 2021 Toyota Corolla Hatchback, two wheel studs sheared off completely, leaving the wheel unsafe to drive. My wife was stranded alone in the mountains with no cell service. She managed to loosen three lug nuts, but the final two were seized. When a passerby assisted, both seized studs snapped. The spare could barely be mounted. The vehicle has been servi
... ced exclusively by Toyota dealers since new. Lancaster Toyota later replaced the broken studs free of charge, yet simultaneously claimed that another dealer, Frontier Toyota, had “switched the tyres.” so Lancaster are not responsible. That claim is false — Frontier’s invoice (Sept 25 2025) clearly shows only an oil change and inspection, no tire or wheel service of any kind. Replacing the studs at no charge while denying responsibility suggests an attempt to quietly resolve what may be a dealer-induced over-torque or defective-stud failure. The broken studs were not returned to us despite multiple requests — effectively withheld by the dealer, which constitutes unauthorized retention of customer property and prevents independent verification of failure cause. Toyota Corporate (case #251103002581) was notified but refused to investigate, referring the issue back to the same dealer. This complaint is being filed so NHTSA can document a potential wheel-stud safety defect or service-related failure and dealer mishandling of critical evidence that could conceal a wider safety problem.Read more
