While driving my 2020 Acura MDX with 29,647 miles, all AcuraWatch safety systems suddenly failed at once, including Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Automatic High Beams. Multiple warning messages appeared simultaneously. This disabled forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure/l
... ane keeping functions, creating a serious safety risk. The dealer inspected the vehicle and confirmed an internal failure of the multipurpose front camera/radar unit, and recommended replacement of the entire assembly. The repair estimate is $2,200. The dealer stated the component has failed and cannot be repaired. This issue is widely reported by many Acura owners of similar model years, and appears to be a recurring defect. The failure occurred without any impact, damage, or modification. The vehicle is available for inspection. The symptoms began suddenly and all warnings appeared at the same time. Because this failure disables critical collision-avoidance and lane-keeping systems, it presents a significant risk to the driver and others on the road. I believe this should be investigated as a safety defect.Read more

The contact stated that on other occasions, after the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light or stop sign, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The message “Service Transmission” was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a transmission specialty shop, where it was diagnosed, and DTC: P0733 was retrieved. The contact was informed that the failure was with the third gear in the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was driven to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the vehicle remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 21-009-25. The manufacturer suggested that the vehicle be taken to the dealer for an inspection, and depending on the findings, the manufacturer might assist with the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.Read more

As a result of recall 94b and FCA US LLC’s failure to act/provide remedy for over 1 year. I am reporting an ongoing safety issue with my vehicle involving the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system. Since January 2025, the vehicle has intermittently spun out, particularly in cold or wet conditions, creating a serious safety hazard. FCA acknowledged the defect but repeatedly stated no remedy w
... as available. I attempted to bring the vehicle to dealerships, provided diagnostic scans and photos, sent multiple letters (including certified mail), and followed all escalation procedures. Despite this, FCA has denied a buyback, provided no safe alternative or loaner vehicle, and failed to respond to communications. Representatives have been inconsistent, unprofessional, and dismissive — including laughing during calls while I reported the defect and impending winter hazards. The defect remains unresolved, the vehicle is unsafe to operate, and FCA’s repeated denials and lack of communication prevent any path to a safe resolution. I am filing this complaint to document FCA’s mishandling and to request that NHTSA require them to take appropriate action. The full detailed summary and supporting documentation are attached.Read more

Incident date 11/27/25 Incident Location: CA State highway 101between San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles. Driving Conditions: Daylight/dry roadway. Description of Safety Defect / Complaint: During a single approximately 400-mile highway road trip, while using Tesla’s Traffic-Aware Cruise Control (TACC) feature enabled, the vehicle abruptly and forcefully applied the brakes on at least six (6) sepa
... rate occasions without any apparent cause. On each occurrence: • No vehicle ahead was braking or decelerating, • No vehicle was merging or cutting in front of my vehicle, • No stationary or moving obstacles (including overpasses, road signs, or debris) were present in or near the travel lane, • The forward roadway was clear and unobstructed for a considerable distance. These sudden, un-commanded braking events were severe enough to cause significant deceleration, requiring me to immediately intervene by pressing the accelerator pedal to override the system. Due to the frequency and unpredictability of these phantom braking events, I no longer feel safe using Traffic-Aware Cruise Control or any Tesla advanced driver-assistance features that rely on the same sensor suite and software. I am filing this report because repeated uncommanded braking in highway traffic constitutes a serious safety hazard that could lead to rear-end collisions, particularly when closely followed by other vehicles or commercial trucks. Just bought a 2017 Nissan Altima SR. Took it for a ride. Attempted to merge into traffic and the car had zero acceleration once I merged and then the transmission seemed to completely disengage. The RPMs week to around 3500 so I quickly had to pull off so as not to get rear ended. Brought the car to a stop and attempted several times to push the gas but the car would not pick up any momentum.
... I eventually turned the car off and waited a couple minutes. I restarted the car and placed it in drive and the car accelerated like a turtle but eventually got up to 30 mph. I turned around and headed back home and parked the car. Calling my mechanic to see if he has any knowledge related to these damn CVT transmission. Not sure why these cars aren't barred from being resold like they did with the Volkswagon. I feel raped.Read more

There is loss of power when accelerating and all the warning lights are staying on when the car starts which is disengaging all of the advanced driver assistant systems.
Incident date: Oct 17, 2025
While driving at normal speed, the vehicle suddenly began producing heavy white smoke from the exhaust, the engine started to idle roughly, and a check-engine light came on. There was no oil-pressure warning, no low-oil message, and no “stop safely” alert of any kind. The only warning was emissions-related. After seeing the smoke, the vehicle was parked and later driven only to a dealer for in
... spection. A dealer inspected the vehicle and confirmed that an internal seal in one of the turbochargers failed, causing the engine to pump all of its oil directly into the exhaust system. This resulted in complete oil loss and catastrophic engine damage due to oil starvation. The dealer confirmed the failure and determined that the issue originated from the turbocharger assembly and not from misuse or neglect. The failure occurred suddenly and without any oil-pressure warning to alert the driver. The safety concern is that a turbocharger failure caused total loss of engine oil without triggering any oil-pressure warning or driver alert, creating a risk of sudden engine failure, loss of power, or engine seizure while driving. The lack of oil-pressure warning before or during the event was confirmed by the dealer’s inspection.Read more

While driving on the highway, a strong burning smell began inside the vehicle, similar to a brush or forest fire. At first it was unclear whether the smell was coming from outside, but when traffic slowed, smoke was seen coming from the driver-side wheel well and from under the front hood. No warning lights, alerts, temperature warnings, or malfunction messages appeared before or during the smoke.
... The vehicle was moved off the highway to a side road. Upon opening the hood, light but steady smoke continued from the engine area. The coolant reservoir was full and there were no visible leaks. The vehicle continued to smoke consistently for approximately 50 minutes while waiting for a tow truck. After the vehicle was loaded onto the flatbed and transported back toward the highway, an orange glow became visible inside the cabin, indicating an active fire had started inside the interior. The tow truck driver immediately pulled over, used a fire extinguisher, and unloaded the vehicle from the flatbed for safety. Smoke increased significantly from the cabin and wheels. Both white and black smoke were present. Police and fire department personnel responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was a nearly new plug-in hybrid with low mileage, and there were no dashboard warnings or prior symptoms of failure. The cause of the fire is unknown, but it appears related to a malfunction involving the electrical, battery, thermal-management, or propulsion systems. The event presented a significant safety hazard to occupants, the tow operator, and other motorists.Read more

I am reporting a safety issue with my 2019 Subaru Legacy that hesitates and nearly stalls when accelerating from a stop and is now undriveable due to stalling and shaking. I bought the car new from AutoNation Subaru Carlsbad in 2019. It has about 65,000 miles and I have driven it less than 2,000 miles since its last dealer visit in August 2025. Since around August 2025, the car has intermittently
... lost power under light acceleration from a stop or low speed, especially while pulling into or through intersections. Pressing the accelerator sometimes produces very little power, the engine feels like it may stall, and traffic behind me must brake or go around me, creating a risk of a rear‑end collision in intersections. In August 2025 I took the car to AutoNation Subaru Carlsbad and reported that the symptoms seemed like a fuel pump problem (my independent mechanic agreed). The dealer kept the car for about two weeks, experienced the hard‑starting/turn‑over issue, but did not test or replace the fuel pump. They performed other services, charged me $1,956.21, and returned the vehicle without fixing the safety issue, even though they later acknowledged the fuel pump is covered under an extended warranty. One day after picking the car up, the same hesitation and loss of power recurred in an intersection. On November 26, 2025, the car again became disabled: it cranks, briefly starts roughly, shakes, and then stalls, and will not stay running. I believe this is a defective low‑pressure fuel pump or related fuel system component, similar to known Subaru fuel pump defects that can cause stalling and loss of power. No crash or injuries yet, but there have been near‑misses due to unexpected loss of power in traffic.Read more

The vehicle in question, has been to a certified jeep dealer twice, to remedy the problem of locking axles and the center differential. The remedy by Crown CDJR in Columbus OH, was to replace the control module. Performance CDJR of Gorgesville /Columbus OH had removed the center differential/transfer case for an inspection and performed updates. None of the aforementioned warranty work, fixed t
... he problem. The vehicle has intermittent, apparent drivetrain differential locking issues, that require an ignition cycle. In addition, the electronic limited slip rear axle appears to lock near 75% in Auto and Snow Mode, which renders the vehicle's operation unsafe. This is especially apparent in 25 to 45 MPH turns, sharp turns, as when merging from one intersection to a perpendicular other roadway. The car wants to go straight on slippery/wet pavement. On the 25th of November, a video was taken, by chance, when the vehicle was merging onto Easton Way from the off ramp of 270 North. The vehicle / car had a near miss of colliding with the concrete barrier of the Easton Way bridge. The vehicle is, in its current state, unsafe! The drivetrain growls and grinds while driving at low speeds. Performance CDJR of Gorgesville Columbus OH admitted, on the record , via audio recording, that the vehicle is defective, but eventually, after three weeks in their service department released, the vehicle to my pregnant wife, as operating as intended.Read more

The vehicle experienced a catastrophic engine failure due to a known defect in Ford’s 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine (coolant intrusion into the cylinders). The component that failed was the engine itself, specifically internal cylinder damage caused by coolant leaking into combustion chambers. The vehicle is in my possession and available for inspection upon request. The failure created a serious s
... afety risk. Prior to the engine failure, the vehicle began stalling at low speeds, idling roughly, losing power, and the check-engine light came on. The stalling occurred while driving, which could have caused an accident in traffic. The engine ultimately became inoperable. The issue was evaluated and confirmed by an independent repair facility: Dobbs Tire & Auto in Eureka, MO, on September 18, 2025. They diagnosed complete engine failure and stated it was consistent with the widely reported coolant-intrusion defect affecting this engine type. Replacement cost was quoted at approximately $11,000. The vehicle has NOT been inspected directly by Ford, but the defect is documented in Ford’s own Technical Service Bulletin (TSB 22-2229). According to the TSB and Ford’s internal guidance, coolant intrusion can cause misfires, stalling, and eventual engine seizure. The mileage at failure (110,764) placed the vehicle outside the limited mileage window in which Ford sometimes performs goodwill replacements. Before failure, the warning indicators included: • Check engine light illuminating • Intermittent stalling • Rough idle • Noticeable loss of power These symptoms began within only a few weeks of purchasing the vehicle. The vehicle is currently inoperable. It cannot be driven safely and cannot be titled due to additional issues with the title that were discovered afterward.Read more

Below is a detailed timeline of the problems I experienced: Intermittent starting issue Over the past few months, the car has occasionally failed to start on the first attempt. The car continued running, but I had no visibility into critical driving data. After pulling over and restarting the vehicle, only half the screen returned. Hours later, the second half came back on its own. Catastrophic front-right tire blowout in a remote area of Texas The following day, while driving through a very remote stretch of highway, the front-right tire suddenly exploded with a loud bang. I safely pulled over and discovered the tire was completely destroyed. No spare tire provided The trunk contained only a tire inflator kit — no spare tire or temporary spare. A new tire was required. Inadequate roadside assistance experience I called Audi Roadside Assistance twice. Both representatives appeared to be reading from a script, were located in another country, and could not understand the urgency or specifics of my situation. After repeated miscommunication, I received no meaningful help and had to resolve the situation on my own at significant personal expense. When the local tire shop inspected the vehicle, the mechanic immediately pointed out severe abnormal inner tire wear on both front tires and stated that the alignment is clearly defective. He said the left front tire was also about to fail and that the car was unsafe to drive in its current condition. Both front tires had to be replaced before I could continue.Read more

Complete MMI/display blackout while driving on the highway In the middle of my trip, the entire center display and instrument clu
... ster went completely black while I was driving at highway speed. All information disappeared (speed, fuel level, navigation, radio — everything).

My 2023 Hyundai Tucson’s windshield has developed excessive pitting, multiple chips, and cracks despite only normal highway driving. I do not drive on gravel or dirt roads, yet the glass shows abnormal wear far beyond what would be expected for a vehicle this new. One of the larger chips was repaired by Safelite, and during the repair the windshield cracked further, suggesting the glass is unusu
... ally weak or defective. Visibility has become noticeably compromised due to the fine pitting across the entire windshield. Based on the number of similar complaints from other Tucson owners, this appears to be a recurring safety issue with Hyundai windshields.Read more

I have a horrible noise when breaking it sound like scratching and water behind the dashboard it’s horrible noise. We are afraid to use it because we think that we can run into an accident because of the sound on the breaks. The vehicle is working normal it’s just the sound that Is horrible. Nobody wants to take responsibility we took it to the dealership many times and they are blaming to the
... manufacture breaks company and that is an issue that they are aware of the existence because every month they run certification to theirs cars and they experience the same issue with their breaks form Volkswagen atlas 2024 and they are blaming it to the manufacture for the breaks they install to many of this suv. My advisor recommend me to change the break pads be he wouldn’t take full responsibility that the noise can go away. He told me it’s normal sound and the sound is going to keep coming back because the problem comes from the breaks. Nobody have make this into a recall and no agents want to file this as a recall. We pay 1,200 dollars every month in this lease and the sound keep happening we need some solutions as soon as possible this need to be file a a recall so they can stop installing this breaks to future cars and the problem can get bigger than what’s already is.Read more

My 2019 Chevrolet Malibu has severe safety defects involving the engine, powertrain, and speed control. The vehicle will sometimes accelerate on its own with my foot off the gas, and other times it loses all power while pulling into traffic. This creates an immediate risk of a crash. Multiple diagnostic codes appear repeatedly, including P0299 (turbo underboost), P0101 (mass air flow performance)
... , P1101 (intake airflow performance), and P0506 (idle control RPM too low). The charge-air hose repeatedly blows off the throttle body while driving, causing sudden loss of power. The vehicle was sold to me by a dealer as safe and reliable, but these defects appeared shortly after purchase. The unintended acceleration and sudden loss of power make the car dangerous to drive. This appears to be a serious mechanical and safety-related defect that could cause an accident.Read more

I was driving 35 MPH toward a busy intersection when I lost my brakes and power. A service message “IMA CHECK SYSTEMS” light lit up on the dash. I lost brakes and power while entering an intersection putting myself and other drivers in danger of an accident narrowly missing a container truck. The car shut off with my front end in the intersection. I was able to restart the car and drive it to
... the nearest garage. They connected the code machine to the vehicle showing “P1437.” I then had my car towed to the nearest Honda dealership. They told me my VIN was not listed under service bulletin 20-030 even though my car fit all of the parameters and showed the same code(s). After giving me a quote of $1900+ to fix the issue, they are claiming to have fixed the problem but I am questioning if the real issues were fixed and if I am responsible for any costs.Read more

Total Transmission failed putting our safety at risk on a busy highway. Problem has been taken care of by an Independant Service Center. The car would not switch gears on acceleration to merge with traffic on the interstate and made a horrible noise and Check Engine light came on. $6000 later and week without a car, it is fixed. Our previous Toyotas NEVER gave us as many problems as this model. W
... e are so disappointed and regret our purchase. Friends say " Buy a Toyota...they last forever...NOT !!" This is one of the worst models ever. A 5 yr old car with low mileage should not have a transmission blow. Transmission specialist told us many are putting in complaints of the same situation with same model but not enough yet to cause a Recall...IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. Makes me reconsider ever purchasing a Toyota again.Read more

I heard noises immediately after purchasing the Sonata. I took it back in to Carmax ( where I bought it from) multiple times and was told they didnt find anything wrong. As time went on, I took my sonata to Hyundai dealer to get checked out. 1st time they told me, Hyundai wouldnt cover the cost to check out engine & that it would be $700 to take a look. The 2nd time, I was told we cannot check it
... out because the engine light isnt on. Basically they couldnt scan/check codes without the light being on. I suggested that if they just rode around the block, that they would notice that there's an issue. They still said no. Then back in February, I took back to Hyundai dealer again & they did check it out because the engine light was now on. That inspection came back as the cylinder was bad. Hyundai doesnt cover it because at that point it was past 100k miles and I was not the original owner. I asked about 100 mile.warranty when I bought it at carmax and was told yes 100k warranty still applies. So upon further research, hyundai has had problems with this year/make/model/ engine type before. If they knew something was wrong with it, why not just say so & fix it? Or as soon as I seen the first issue, check it out and repair it for me?Read more

The dealer confirmed that this model currently has multiple active safety recalls, including recalls involving high-voltage battery fire risk and potential loss of propulsion, and that they could not inspect the vehicle immediately due to limited staffing. This incident posed a significant crash and injury risk because the driver was unable to steer the vehicle with normal force. The sudden loss of steering assist created a dangerous situation on a public road and required emergency towing. The vehicle is now at the dealership awaiting inspection, and the failure can be inspected upon request.Read more
