We got notified of the recall by mail in early 2024. We called the Honda dealership in our locality, First Texas Honda (3400 Steck Ave, Austin, TX 78757) about it and they said the parts weren't available yet, and was estimated to be ready by Fall 2024. In July 2024, we were driving on a highway and the accelerator stalled as we reached 80 mph, with the check engine light flashing. Cars around us
... had to swoosh left and right to avoid colliding with our stalled car. By extreme luck we were able to use the car's momentum to safely exit the highway. Upon restarting the car, power was restored and the check engine light didn't illuminate again. There was slight shuddering in low gears. We made an appointment at the same First Texas Honda mentioned above to fix the problem, but after inspection they insisted that the problem was caused by loose battery cable unrelated to the fuel pump recall. Charged us $225 for the inspection and denied to replace the recalled part. Their predatory practice should be illegal and we are so disappointed in the system.Read more

I was driving 2023 Tesla Model -Y (VIN [XXX] ) with the latest FSD software with FSD and navigation on. As I approached a stoplight it was unclear whether the car would make the appropriate turn at the intersection, so I pushed up on the right stalk to disengage FSD and inadvertently touched the brake pedal before FSD had disengaged in response to the stalk movement. Touching the brake apparentl

There was no visual or audible warning (or at least none that I saw or heard), and when I stepped on the accelerator the car went in reverse. Fortunately, I did not hit the car behind me. It seems to me that the sequence of events I described could happen often and there should be some sort of audible or visual warning. Jeep has a design defect in vehicles equipped with the 2.0L turbocharged engine where the coolant reservoir is positioned directly adjacent to the turbocharger and turbo heat source with insufficient heat shielding. Due to the constant high heat exposure, the plastic coolant reservoir and/or connecting plastic fittings degrade, warp, and become brittle over time, eventually leading to coolant leak
... s, erratic coolant temperature readings, and/or sudden coolant loss. This failure often occurs without warning, and many vehicles do not initially trigger a check engine light. In my case, the vehicle exhibited intermittent coolant temperature readings, abnormal fan operation, and heating inconsistencies before the leak was discovered. Multiple repair attempts are frequently made before the root cause is identified. Mechanics often replace components such as the thermostat housing, coolant temperature sensors, or related assemblies, not realizing the coolant reservoir heat damage is the underlying cause. This results in unnecessary repairs, significant consumer expense, and extended vehicle downtime. This defect poses a serious safety risk, as coolant loss can result in: •Engine overheating •Sudden loss of power •Potential engine failure while driving •Increased risk of breakdown in traffic or unsafe driving conditions Numerous owners report similar failures, indicating this is not an isolated incident but a widespread design flaw affecting Jeep vehicles equipped with the 2.0L turbo engine.Jeep has not issued a Technical Service Bulletin or recall addressing the placement of the coolant reservoir or providing guidance to technicians to inspect for heat-related degradation in this area.I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this design defect and require Jeep to issue a Technical Service Bulletin or recall addressing this. The vehicle was properly maintained and not modified and The issue occurred at relatively low mileage.Read more

Since the crash, I discovered two Hyundai Technical Service Bulletins that directly match the failure I experienced: TSB 23-01-036H-1 (Relates to HECU/Electronic Parking Brake failure) TSB addressing DTC C1620 (Relates to FCA Sensor/Automatic Braking malfunction) These TSBs relate to brake assist malfunction, emergency brake concerns, and similar stopping failures. The dealership did not disclose these TSBs, did not apply the corrective procedures, and cleared the car as having “no defects.” The dealership wrote “could not reproduce concern” and “no problems found,” despite the vehicle having just been in a brake-failure crash. This brake failure created a major safety risk with potential for severe injury or fatality. I am reporting this because the defect appears unresolved, the dealership denied it, and the TSBs show Hyundai is aware of brake-related issues. I’m submitting this complaint to report what appears to be a serious safety-related engine issue in my 2017 Hyundai Tucson Sport 2WD with the 1.6L DI Turbo engine [T-GDI GAMMA]. I’m aware of NHTSA Recall 21V-727, which covers 2017 Hyundai Tucson models with the 2.0L engine for premature engine bearing wear. The symptoms covered by that recall are nearly identical to the symptoms my vehicle is
... now showing. My VIN shows no open recalls or service campaigns on Hyundai’s website, but the problems I’m experiencing match those found in many other consumer reports for this same year, make, and model. My vehicle has only 80,000 miles and has had regular maintenance. Examples include loud knocking from the engine that rises and falls with RPM, and metal shavings in the oil. One complaint that reflects the same pattern can be found in NHTSA ID 11680114, which describes engine knocking and metal debris with no warning lights or alerts. My vehicle has also shown no warning indicators. These issues pose a safety risk because they can lead to sudden engine failure while driving. Based on the volume of similar complaints and the overlap with the existing recall, I’m concerned that the defect may affect more than the engines currently covered under 21V-727. I’m requesting that NHTSA review this matter and determine whether Hyundai should extend or expand the recall to include vehicles equipped with the 2017 Hyundai Tucson Sport 2WD 1.6L DI Turbo DOHC 4cyl. Please investigate this issue and hold Hyundai accountable if these defects extend beyond the vehicles already listed.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding Safety Recall 34J6, which is listed as INCOMPLETE for my 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid. I brought my vehicle to Volkswagen of Murfreesboro, Tennessee to have this recall performed. The dealership refused to complete the repair, claiming it was “too old” — a statement that is factually and legally incorrect. Federal law and NHTSA regulations require ma
... nufacturers and their dealerships to repair open safety recalls at no cost, with no expiration. The dealership’s refusal is a direct violation of these requirements and represents a serious safety risk to me and potentially to other drivers. I have already contacted Volkswagen Customer CARE, but the dealership has refused to perform the recall despite clear evidence that it remains open. Their inaction demonstrates noncompliance with federal safety regulations and unlawful denial of a mandated repair. I request that NHTSA investigate Volkswagen of Murfreesboro for refusal to perform a federally required recall, ensure that my vehicle receives the required repair immediately, and take appropriate enforcement action to prevent further violations. This behavior is unacceptable and poses a significant public safety risk.Read more
