On December 3rd I contacted roberts-Robertson Chevrolet in Excelsior springs where I purchased my brand new 2024 buick envista. I told them my engine light is on, we scheduled service for 4 days later, the engine light shut off, i contacted them on the 13th telling them it is back on and now i am concerned if it is safe, while speaking to the representative will not share her name, until I am cont
... acted, the service representative, I asked her yestersay at 1 pm cst over the phone if I was safe to be driving my kids to places with the engine light back on or should we be worried. She exact words stated your safe to keep driving, she said if anything. It might not start right away after driving and turning it off. But thats the most it will do. Not even two hours later, im driving my car and its 14 degrees, the car shakes, and I get an emergency shut off immediately nowessage on the screen. As soon as I got pulled over, the place it happened, all my oil just rapidly leaked out. I was told by my someone who works there to light a fire to my car so if the dealership doesnt stand behind it. At least id have an insurance claim. I clearly did not listen to that illegal advice. I am beyond upset. My kids are scared to death when it comes to getting back in the car. I had to pay 200 dollars to get it towed. And now im car less. It is our only car. I am stuck in a situation right before the holidays and I feel [XXX]. I feel complete dealership neglect when it comes to her reassuring my car was okay to drive when she didnt know what the safety risk was. My name is [XXX], I havent had the car for even two years. And its at 6 1 or 62 thousand miles. Im praying for good will or that they are able to fix this and allow me a rental car. I have been stressed to the max. Every time I have to turn the car on a 90 degree angle from a full stop at an intersection, the car makes a loud clicking sound as the car comes in and out of making the turn. Vehicle: 2023 Tesla Model X Component: Power-operated doors / door latching (auto-close / “cinch” close) Incident type: Finger pinch injury during powered door closing Summary of incident: While using my 2023 Tesla Model X, a powered door closing sequence resulted in a finger pinch injury. The door appeared to close normally and then performed an additional “cinch”/pull-in motion to fully
... latch. During this final motion, my thumb was caught in a very narrow gap and was pinched. There was no adequate pinch detection/anti-pinch reversal before contact and compression occurred. The gap was extremely small, leaving little time to react. Injury: Thumb crush injury with immediate blood under the nail (subungual hematoma), swelling, and altered sensation/numbness. I obtained medical evaluation and an X-ray, which showed no fracture. A splint was prescribed to protect the thumb. Safety concern: This is a significant pinch hazard because the powered closing/cinching can occur quickly and unexpectedly, and the door does not reliably detect or reverse when a finger is in the closing path. This presents a risk of more severe injury (fracture, nail-bed injury, nerve damage), especially for children. When it happened / conditions: Normal use, low speed/parked. (Add date/time/location if you want.) The incident occurred during the final powered latch/close step (“close then push/pull for full close”). What I want investigated / remedy requested: Request NHTSA to investigate the Model X powered door closing/cinching behavior and pinch detection effectiveness, including whether there are known blind spots or missing/insufficient anti-pinch protections. Recommend Tesla provide a software update or hardware change to improve pinch detection/reversal and/or limit cinch force/speed, and provide clearer warnings/settings to prevent unexpected powered closure.Read more

My vehicle is subject to NHTSA Safety Recall 14S06 related to loss of electric power steering assist. The Power Steering Control Module was reprogrammed in 2014, and Ford now considers the recall closed based on that reprogramming. In 2025, the vehicle again experienced loss of electric power steering assist and currently exhibits the EPAS diagnostic trouble code associated with the recall defect
... . This condition has been verified by a Ford dealer. On November 13, 2025, the dealer attempted reprogramming of the steering control module as a diagnostic and customer service step to determine whether reprogramming would resolve the condition. This attempt did not correct the defect, and the loss of steering assist persists. Supplement 3 to Recall 14S06, issued in 2019, includes a Dealer Q&A section (Attachment 4, Question 3) that specifically addresses what happens if a customer experiences loss of steering assist after the module has been reprogrammed. Ford’s guidance states that any subsequent loss of assist after reprogramming may be eligible for extended coverage under a related program. This guidance acknowledges that reprogramming alone may not prevent recurrence of the defect and that further corrective action may be required when the loss of assist returns. Despite this acknowledgment, Ford has denied further remedy solely because the recall is marked “closed” in its internal system and because the vehicle exceeds the time and mileage limits of customer satisfaction program 15N01. The recall defect remains present in the vehicle, and the original remedy has not been adequate to correct it. I am requesting NHTSA review whether Ford has met its obligation under 49 U.S.C. §30120 to provide an adequate remedy for this safety defect. Hi, I received a letter about a recall (NHTSA recall no. 25V-668 / Toyota recall no. 25TA12). Toyota currently does not have a remedy for this situation. I believe that this is unacceptable because my vehicle is currently being used as a for hire vehicle with a wheel chair ramp Modification in new york city. Without being able to use the 2nd row seats it would not make sense to use it as a taxi.
... I called Toyota’s helpline (888-270-9371) and the representative informed me that they have no estimated date of when a remedy would be available. I believe that in the interest of passenger’s safety, there should atleast be an inspection program in order to verify if a problem exists. On [XXX], multiple electrical systems on my 2024 Ford Mustang suddenly failed while the vehicle was in normal operation. The following systems stopped functioning: HVAC/climate control, heated seats, outside temperature display, rear turn signals, and blind spot monitoring. No prior warning lights were displayed before the failure. These failures significantly compromised safety because the rear
... turn signals and blind spot monitoring stopped working without warning while driving. Loss of exterior signaling and driver-assistance systems created a risk of collision. The lack of HVAC also created visibility concerns due to inability to defog windows. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Ford dealer the same day. The dealer confirmed the issue, diagnosed water intrusion into the Body Control Module, and stated that the failure is linked to an open Ford recall regarding BCM water intrusion. The dealer has had the vehicle since 10/21/25, and the BCM and related components remain available for inspection. The repair has been delayed for nearly two months, and the dealer reports they are “waiting on engineering approval” from Ford with no estimated completion date. The defect has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealer but has not yet been repaired. The manufacturer has not inspected the vehicle directly, and no police or insurance inspection has occurred. The safety risk remains significant because BCM failure disables multiple critical signaling and monitoring systems without warning. Product Type: Child Restraint System – Forward-Facing Issue Type: Structural Failure During Crash Testing Component(s) Involved: Top tether (hook, strap, and vehicle anchor interface) My name is [XXX] and I am writing about my concerns with the results of Cybex Callisto G360's Consumer Report's crash test results. During the multiple forward-facing dynamic crash tests using a Hybrid III 6-year
... -old crash test dummy, the child restraint’s top tether system experienced repeated structural failures. The seat was installed using the lap-and-shoulder belt and the top tether, per manufacturer instructions. Across three out of three tests with the standard Hybrid III 6YO dummy, the top tether released before the dummy’s head reached its maximum forward excursion. The specific failures included: -Two tests where the top tether hook broke -One test where the tether anchor on the test sled broke In one out of one additional test using the weighted Hybrid III 6YO dummy, the top tether strap itself sheared (tore) off just past the double-webbing section, again before maximum head excursion. In all four tests, the tether system failed early in the crash event, eliminating the intended restraint effect and allowing for the potential of significantly increased head and neck excursion. The top tether is a critical safety component for forward-facing seats, designed to limit forward head movement and reduce head and neck injury risk. Early release or structural failure of the tether system can result in: -Excessive head excursion -Increased head and neck loading -Increased likelihood of head contact with the vehicle interior -Reduced effectiveness of the restraint system as a whole Because the failures occurred across multiple test samples, and involved different components of the tether system, this may indicate a systemic issue rather than a single defective part. The nature of these failures may also indicate potential non-compliance with FMVSS 213 performance requirements. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OFRead more
