The steering becomes stiff or seems to get stuck when between 10 or 11 o'clock position. It appears to be slowly deteriorating. It has not been reported yet and no warning lights showing. It does not yet stop the vehicle from being in control. It has been noticed over last year and not always as severe as other times.

The PTU caused the vehicle to have random grinding sounds from the drive train. There was a service 4wd engine light immediately. Took to the dealer 5/5/25 and was told about the recall of the PTU but no fix was available. I was told to keep driving and the vehicle around late December completely lost all forward gears on the highway. I was luckily able to coast to the shoulder and had it towed ba

The dealer informed me that it was in need of a new PTU and that there was still no fix for this problem. This is almost 1 year from the recall being issued. Unacceptable by any standards. when i go to accelerate (not every time) (random times) from a near stop during a yielding situation, engine power hesitates to come back on. I've been nearly rear ended twice entering onto highways because of it. i have an appointment Friday with a dealership but they said that they may not be able to do anything for it...im reporting this because that is not acceptable behavior from a dealership
... . its a safety issue and its under warranty....FIX IT!! when this issue happens i can have the pedal full pressed and it takes several second for the engine to wake up from switching from electric to gas..(im only able to move 1 to 3 MPH)..or if i want it to snap out of it sooner i rapidly press the accelerator in and out multiple times....both ways eventually kicks the engine power back on lunging the truck forward.Read more

My 2025 Toyota Sienna is subject to Safety Recall 25TA12 involving suspect welds on second row seat rails. Toyota instructs that the second row seats not be used while the vehicle is in motion. No repair is available and no timeline has been provided. Toyota has not provided a viable interim solution. Toyota coordinated outreach to multiple dealerships, all of which confirmed they cannot provide
... a comparable vehicle or accommodation. Toyota’s only option is limited rental reimbursement, which does not restore equivalent seating capacity or function. As a result, I am forced to either stop using the vehicle for its intended purpose or continue operating a vehicle Toyota has identified as unsafe to use as designed. When the Auto Idle Stop is engaged, I have now had 3 instances of the engine completely stalling when at a stop. Not only has the engine stalled, but I have difficulty getting the engine to restart. My 2016 Hyundai Sonata experienced a sudden engine failure while in operation with no prior warning lights or symptoms. The engine seized unexpectedly, creating a safety risk. Car says "service safety restraint system" and airbag light comes on intermittently. Dealer won't cover under safety restraint warranty. They site TSB about a wire that GM made too short but are not sure it will fix it. This car has 42,000. We are worried the safety restraint system won't work and we carry 4 children in our vehicle. I am submitting this complaint regarding Safety Recall 25TA12 (Interim Notice 25TB12) for my 2025 Toyota Sienna XLE Woodland Edition, VIN available upon request. Toyota has acknowledged that the second-row seat rails may have improper weld penetration, creating a risk that the seats may lose structural integrity in certain high-speed collisions, increasing the risk of injury. Toyota has issued wr
... itten instructions advising that no one should sit in or use a child restraint in any second-row seat while the vehicle is in motion, and has also issued a stop sale, indicating Toyota’s determination that the vehicle should not be sold or delivered in its current condition. There is no repair remedy available, no parts, and no estimated timeline for correction. Because this vehicle is used to transport four young children in car seats, Toyota’s instructions render the vehicle unsafe and unusable for its intended purpose. I have complied with Toyota’s guidance and removed the vehicle from service. The vehicle has been out of service continuously since October 8, 2025 through today, December 30, 2025, totaling 84 calendar days and 60 business days with no repair attempt possible due to Toyota’s inability to provide a remedy. Toyota has stated that a loaner vehicle substitutes for safe seating; however, loaners do not correct the underlying defect, do not restore the vehicle’s certified safety condition, and do not eliminate the ongoing risk or loss of use of the purchased vehicle. Toyota continues to sell similarly equipped vehicles while leaving affected owners without a path to repair. I am requesting NHTSA review whether Toyota’s handling of this recall—including extended delays with no remedy, reliance on stop-use instructions, and indefinite loss of safe use—meets federal safety obligations and adequately protects consumers and child passengers.Read more

I am filing a safety complaint regarding unresolved recalls on my 2018 Ford Explorer (VIN: [XXX] ). FIRST RECALL: Over two years ago, I was notified to repair the exterior A-pillar trim/window shields. The dealer in Yakima, WA, placed me on a waiting list and said the part was unavailable. I have been waiting over two years with no resolution. Recently, while driving on the highway, this part fel
... l off and struck the windshield of another vehicle behind me, creating a dangerous situation and potential for serious injury. The dealer refused to repair it for free, stating I must either wait longer or purchase the part myself, despite this being a manufacturer safety recall. This long delay and refusal put my safety and the safety of others at risk. It also caused stress, confrontation, and concern for my financial obligations, as I continue paying for a vehicle with unresolved safety defects. SECOND RECALL: The high-speed cooling fan motor relay recall was not properly addressed. The dealer only started the vehicle, stated the fan worked, and performed no inspection or repair, leaving a potential hazard unresolved. FORD RESPONSE: I reported these incidents to Ford Customer Service, but they said the situation did not qualify for opening a case. I strongly disagree, as these are confirmed safety recalls and one part already failed during driving. ADDITIONAL CONCERNS: I am still making monthly payments for this vehicle while unresolved recalls continue to appear. The ongoing failure to repair these defects, despite multiple reports, creates financial and safety burdens. I request NHTSA to investigate these matters, require Ford to complete all recall repairs properly, and hold the dealer accountable for their refusal to provide free safety repairs in a timely manner. After a routine service visit, the vehicle’s braking and speed‑control systems began to behave abnormally. The ABS/ESC control module was replaced or reprogrammed without documentation, and immediately afterward the vehicle’s braking feel, speed‑control behavior, and forward‑collision warning timing changed noticeably. These changes created a safety risk because the vehicle no longer res
... ponded in a predictable way compared to its original performance. The affected components are available for inspection upon request. The issue was reproduced multiple times under normal driving conditions. Braking response became inconsistent, and the speed‑control system no longer behaved as it did before the service. The timing and behavior of forward‑collision alerts also changed compared to pre‑service operation. These changes created unpredictability in traffic, especially during following‑distance adjustments, stop‑and‑go situations, and sudden‑braking scenarios. The dealership did not provide technical documentation or explanation for the module replacement or configuration changes and did not acknowledge the change in system behavior. The manufacturer’s customer service reviewed the case but did not provide technical findings. An independent service center could not verify the original configuration because the manufacturer did not provide the Manufacturer Build Sheet. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. No warning lamps or dashboard messages appeared before or after the issue. The only indication of a problem was the sudden change in braking, speed‑control, and forward‑collision system behavior immediately after the service visit.Read more

In November 2024, Jeep applied an over-the-air software update to my Jeep Grand Cherokee L without my request. Immediately after the update, the forward collision warning system malfunctioned and warning indicators appeared. At the same time, multiple electronic body control and safety-related functions changed or stopped working, including the automatic door locks and several vehicle settings res
... etting (language, units, and driver-assist preferences). The affected systems are electronic safety and body control components and are available for inspection. The malfunction of the forward collision warning system puts vehicle occupants and others at risk because the vehicle may fail to provide collision alerts intended to help prevent or reduce the severity of a crash. There was no crash, damage, or hardware failure before or after the update. The vehicle operated normally prior to the software update. These problems have continued without interruption for more than 13 months and have not corrected themselves. The issue has not been confirmed by a dealer because Jeep Customer Care has required a paid dealership diagnosis before escalating or correcting a problem caused by its own software update. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or any third party. Warning lights and messages related to the forward collision warning system first appeared immediately following the November 2024 update. Jeep/Stellantis has acknowledged similar over-the-air software-related issues in internal technical documentation (STAR Publication Case Number S2108000249, Revision C). This is a safety-related software defect affecting forward collision warning and driver-assist systems.Read more

While backing very slowly into a parking space, I lightly contacted small twigs (please see photo) with the vehicle. There was no impact with another vehicle, pole, wall, or solid object, and no significant force was applied. A child seated in the third row mentioned hearing a light scraping sound. Immediately afterward, the rear window suddenly and violently exploded, sending glass shards into t

There was no prior damage to the window, no visible cracks before the incident, and no collision that would reasonably explain the shattering of tempered glass. The explosion appeared spontaneous and disproportionate to the minor contact with twigs. This incident raises serious concerns about rear window glass integrity and the risk of injury to passengers, particularly children seated near the rear of the vehicle.Read more

I am filing this complaint regarding serious and ongoing safety and quality issues with my 2025 Range Rover Evoque S. Since shortly after taking delivery, I have experienced persistent problems that have not been resolved despite multiple service visits over the past year. As a result, I have lost confidence in the safety and reliability of this vehicle. The issues include an overheating wireless
... charging pad that becomes unsafe to use. This issue has been acknowledged by the dealership as a known problem. During an early service visit, a representative advised me to purchase a third party wireless charger rather than offering a repair. The vehicle also has persistent interior rattling from the rear passenger side that continues despite repeated repair attempts. During my most recent service visit, I was told that the vehicle is built plastic on plastic and that this noise should be expected. Most concerning is an active passenger airbag recall issued Aug. 27, 2025. Due to a cyber incident affecting Land Rover systems, there is currently no remedy available. Because of this unresolved recall, I do not allow passengers in the vehicle, as I do not believe it is safe. This restriction has been in place for months and has significantly limited my ability to use the vehicle. I only drive when absolutely necessary. Because the dealership was unable to resolve these issues, a retailer representative who has been aware of the problems from the beginning recommended that I pursue a vehicle repurchase through Land Rover. I followed that recommendation and formally requested a repurchase. Land Rover denied the request without explanation and referred me to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to file a complaint. I remain in possession of the vehicle but no longer feel safe or confident driving it. I am submitting this complaint so these safety issues are formally documented and reviewed.
