The ICCU assembly and high voltage fuse blew/broke at 6,255 miles as I was driving on Interstate 294. That immediately reduced the vehicle maximum speed to about 25mph, causing a hazard to myself and following drivers who were traveling at 55mph or more. I limped about 3 miles to the next exit, where Hyundai arranged for a tow and warranty service to replace the faulty parts. There were no prio
... r symptoms or warnings. As this is both a known, ongoing (several years)Hyundai issue and apparently unrelated to driver behavior/practices, perhaps an NHTSA query will inspire Hyundai to actually resolve this issue instead of simply replacing the part(s)?Read more

Our Dash board cracked very badly from the top next to the speaker to the passenger side air bag. We purposely use a dash board cover and never place heavy things on it. This is a safety issue as if getting in an accident wouldn’t be bad enough flying shrapnel would be worse. We just had it fixed at a dealership to the tune of $2500. This is not okay as I see this is a constant problem.

Cabin lost heat November 2025. Brought it in to the local Ford dealership right away and they said replacing replacing the oil cooler hose will probably fix it. Car worked fine for a couple of weeks but the cabin heat tapered off again. Made another appointment with the Ford dealership, but the first available appointment wasn’t until 2/23/26. I tried to drive anywhere as little as possible afte
... r this because I live in Fairbanks, AK and it’s commonly -30 this time of the year. Tried to leave work on [XXX] and a warning came up as I started driving away that the engine was overheating and power was reduced to minimize damage. I put my car back in my work parking spot and plugged it in until I could get an appointment at a local mechanic shop. Had the car towed to a local shop 1/6/26 and they inspected it 1/7/26. The report came back saying there was an internal coolant leak and found hydrocarbons in the cooling system. The recommended fix was to replace the entire engine with a quote for $12,000. That is more than I paid for the vehicle and way over the Kelly Blue Book worth. I did some research and found that there is a common coolant leak issue damaging engines of a certain range of Ford vehicles that has not become an official recall yet. I looked at other Ford Escape owner complaints and it looks like my 2015 Escape 1.6L has the same engine defect. I’m afraid if I pay for the engine replacement, this will just happen again. If I don’t pay, I still owe for my lease and will only get pennies to sell it as is for parts. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+, which has repeatedly shut down while driving, causing loss of power and reduced braking assistance. This defect has occurred at least five (5) times since I leased the vehicle and has not been corrected despite multiple repair attempts by Mercedes-Benz dealerships. The most serious incident occurred on December 30, 2025, whe
... n the vehicle shut down while I was actively driving. The dashboard displayed multiple warning messages including “Towing not permitted – see operator’s manual – malfunction.” As the vehicle powered down, braking assistance was reduced. I narrowly avoided colliding with the vehicle in front of me, and the vehicle behind me nearly struck my car. This was not an isolated incident. Similar shutdowns and malfunctions occurred on: •November 12, 2025 •March 27, 2024 •January 20, 2024 •November 28, 2023 (initial error documented while the vehicle was already being serviced at a Mercedes-Benz dealership) Each time, the vehicle was taken to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership. Service records repeatedly state the issue was “fixed” or that “no fault codes were found.” Despite these assurances, the defect continues to occur. I have video evidence of the malfunctions and multiple repair orders documenting repeated unsuccessful repair attempts. The dealership did not offer towing, and I was forced to wait hours or days for the vehicle to regain functionality before driving it to the dealership, which itself posed a safety risk. This vehicle is unsafe to operate. A vehicle that shuts down while driving with loss of braking assistance presents a serious risk of injury or death. Mercedes-Benz has been unable or unwilling to correct this safety defect.Read more

Vehicle: 2026 BMW X5 System involved: Parking Assistant Professional (automatic parking) Description of the incident: While using Parking Assistant Professional on my 2026 BMW X5, the vehicle performed an automated parking maneuver and reversed into a stationary wall, causing damage to the rear window, tail light, and paint. The maneuver was initiated by the automated parking system. During the
... event, there were no audible or visual warnings, no alert prompts, and no system disengagement prior to impact. The vehicle continued reversing until contact occurred. I did not manually apply throttle or steering input during the automated maneuver. The obstacle was a fixed, stationary wall in a normal parking environment. BMW North America later informed me that their investigation concluded the system operated as designed and that certain sensor limitations are described in the owner’s manual. However, from a safety perspective, an automated parking system reversing into a stationary object without warning raises concern, particularly given the absence of alerts or system intervention. I am submitting this complaint to document a potential safety issue involving automated parking behavior and lack of warnings during low-speed automated maneuvers.Read more

Incident Description (in my own words): This incident occurred in the parking lot of the [XXX] in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. It was evening after sunset. The parking lot was dark but illuminated by overhead parking lights. My Tesla Model 3 headlights and vehicle lights were fully on. I was reversing slowly out of a tight parking space, traveling approximately 2–3 miles per hour. I was inten
... tionally moving cautiously. My attention at the time was focused on the front right corner of the vehicle, as clearance there was tight. While reversing, the rear of my vehicle struck a parked truck behind me. The truck was relatively high (its headlights were positioned high on the vehicle). Neither I nor my passenger heard any rear collision warning, cross-traffic warning, or parking alert prior to impact. The vehicle also did not apply automatic braking. The contact occurred at very low speed and resulted in only minor cosmetic damage (a small dimple/deformation), but I was surprised that no warning or braking intervention occurred. Based on prior experience driving this vehicle, the collision and parking warning systems are typically configured to warn early, and I had confidence that a warning or automatic braking would activate in this scenario. Following the incident, I conducted a simple test by placing cones in front of the vehicle to see whether forward collision warnings would activate. They did not. While I understand cones may not trigger frontal collision alerts, this further contributed to my concern about object detection reliability in low-speed scenarios. The vehicle’s cameras were clean and unobstructed. I regularly clean the camera lenses. I am filing this complaint because my confidence in the vehicle’s collision warning and automatic braking systems has been shaken. I recently submitted a similar complaint regarding a collision involving our Tesla Model Y, and these two incidents—on two different Tesla vehicles—raise concerns for me INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACTRead more

While operating the vehicle, the engine shut off unexpectedly and without warning while the vehicle was in traffic. In one incident, the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light and, when the accelerator was pressed after the light turned green, the engine cut off and the transmission automatically shifted into PARK. The vehicle became disabled in active traffic with other vehicles behind it. A simi
... lar incident occurred previously in a parking lot. The vehicle began sputtering and then shut off when shifted into reverse, again forcing the transmission into PARK. These events occurred after the vehicle had recently been returned from an authorized dealership where it was reported that all issues were repaired. The malfunction appears to involve the engine, electrical system, and powertrain, specifically a loss of engine power combined with an unintended automatic shift into PARK. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and is currently back at an authorized dealership for service. These failures placed my safety and the safety of others at risk by leaving the vehicle suddenly disabled in traffic, blocking lanes, and creating a risk of rear-end collision. One incident occurred during morning rush hour with surrounding vehicles, increasing the risk to other motorists. The problem has occurred multiple times and has been reported to and inspected by authorized dealerships on several occasions. Diagnostic testing, software/system updates, electrical inspections, and component replacements have been performed. Despite these inspections and repair attempts, the problem continues and has not been resolved.
