Stellantis FCA should be required to extend paint warranty due to bubbling on hood and hinges. There is a known issue but needs to expand out to layer model years. My vehicle has never been in an accident and if was a few months newer Stellantis would’ve covered an 8200$ repair. Hood hinge paint replacement

Unsure of the part or system that failed, however the auxiliary battery and power distribution system part was replaced previously and did not correct the problem. My safety was at risk when the speed and steering were affected. An independent service center worked on it and reproduced it. The car electronic system went through every warning light system while driving. "Stop/start not ready", "en

Speed was reduced and steering wheel locked up and released several times during the event.Read more

COMPONENT/SYSTEM THAT FAILED — AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION: The electrical system failed at the under-hood fuse box / power distribution center (the component sometimes referred to as the TIPM), located near the battery. The vehicle started roughly, shut off within about 3 seconds, would not stay running, and emitted a plastic/electrical burning smell from that area. The vehicle is currently at Oxe
... ndale Jeep in Cottonwood, AZ and is available for inspection upon request. A photo of the damage from service advisor Jason Smith and a dealer pre-service inspection document are also available. HOW SAFETY WAS PUT AT RISK: The vehicle would not run and stranded me in an unfamiliar parking lot in Jerome, AZ. The electrical burning smell created a fire risk. A responding firefighter, a police officer, and online guidance all advised not to restart the vehicle due to the danger of fire. REPRODUCED/CONFIRMED BY DEALER: Not fully. Oxendale's pre-service inspection states they could not perform actual diagnostics due to the mechanical damage and burnt components. The dealer documented the damage but has not reproduced or confirmed a root cause. INSPECTED BY MANUFACTURER, POLICE, INSURANCE, OR OTHERS: A local firefighter and a local police officer observed the burning smell at the scene. The jeep dealership service advisor inspected and documented the damage. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or an insurance representative. WARNING LAMPS/MESSAGES/SYMPTOMS BEFORE FAILURE: No prior warning lamps or messages before the incident. Symptoms first appeared at the time of failure on Friday, [XXX]: a rough start, immediate shut-off, and an electrical/plastic burning smell. Dash lights and electrical power stayed on with info on dash don’t remember wording, but the vehicle would not remain running. I am submitting additional information regarding NHTSA complaint #11725438 involving my 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series III. The original complaint involved the front passenger seat lumbar support unexpectedly inflating to maximum firmness without any occupant input. The lumbar support became extremely hard and uncomfortable as though it had inflated to its highest setting on its own creating a l
... arge rock hard bulge in the passenger’s back. Since filing the original complaint, the same defect has now occurred in the driver’s seat. The driver’s lumbar support suddenly became rock hard without any adjustment being made to the seat controls. The change was sudden rather than gradual happening overnight. This defect has now occurred in both front seats of the vehicle, suggesting a possible system-wide issue rather than an isolated seat component failure. The unexpected inflation creates a driver distraction and can affect comfort and vehicle operation while driving. This complaint is intended to supplement and update NHTSA complaint #11725438. I request that this additional occurrence be added to the existing record. Many other Wagoneer owners have experienced this same issue as I see repeated complaints of this happening on the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer owner’s facebook pages. There is no way to remedy this situation on my own. The vehicle is not just uncomfortable, it is unsafe in this condition.Read more

In reference to Recall 21D / NHTSA 26V363, FCA has directed Jeep Wrangler owners not to park inside or near my home due to a fire risk. My local Jeep dealership and FCA have denied to offer a loaner vehicle, and they have denied my request to cover a rental vehicle. This only leaves me with the option to abandon my primary form of transportation, or drive a known fire hazard. I do not have an open
... space free of other combustible materials available to park my recalled vehicle, and driving the vehicle would create heat and increase the likeliness of a fire. FCA stated I would need to obtain a "Repair Order" from the dealership before they would consider covering a rental vehicle. However, the dealership stated they are not making appointments or taking vehicles under this recall at this time since there is no repair available. I contacted Sandy Sansing CDJR in Milton, FL on 06/11/2026 at approximately 12:47pm CST to inquire about appointment availability and the possibility of a loaner vehicle. I was directed by the service department to contact FCA directly as they did not have any loaner vehicles available. I contacted FCA the first time on 06/11/2026 at approximately 2:43pm CST. I contacted FCA again on 06/11/2026 at approximately 4:13pm CST to open a Star Case. For the answers to the recommended questions, the components involved are the hydraulic steering system components and nobody's safety has been put at risk at this time. The problem has not been reproduced outside of the events that led to the recall. The vehicle has not been inspected yet as the dealer is not making appointments for this issue at this time. No warning lamps related to this recall have appeared as of the time of writing.Read more

In June 2025, I had the clutch recall (NHTSA 23V-116) performed on my 2019 Jeep Wrangler at AutoNation Jeep Southwest in Littleton Colorado. Prior to this recall repair, the vehicle had no transmission faults or warning lights. Following the recall work, I began experiencing a recurring 'Service Transmission' warning. On a return visit, the dealership discovered they had incorrectly reinstalled th
... e shifter cables during the recall repair, making it difficult to shift into first gear. The cables were redone. The 'Service Transmission' warning continued after the cable rework. The dealership performed a software flash on a subsequent visit, which did not resolve the issue. The vehicle later experienced a 'Service Transmission' warning accompanied by a clutch overheat alert and limp mode activation. The dealership has since diagnosed fault codes P082C and P082F (gear lever position sensor circuit high) and is recommending a transmission range sensor replacement at my expense. The dealership has acknowledged they cannot confirm the root cause of these codes. When I contacted Jeep Customer Care, they called the dealership and accepted their assessment that the issue is unrelated to the recall repair. I believe the ongoing fault codes are a direct result of the defective recall remedy, specifically the incorrect shifter cable installation and subsequent cable disturbance during rework. I am requesting NHTSA investigate whether the recall remedy as performed at this dealership is defective.Read more

Engine light came on, vehicle went into limp mode. Transmission would not shift any higher than 3rd gear and kept slipping while on interstate! Was almost hit by several 18 wheelers! Jeep dealership said our vin is not part of the service bulletin but they did get the P0733 code! Make it make sense! I guess we’re supposed to get run over by 18 wheelers before they’ll fix it!

On approximately January 21st 2026 my vehicle was brought in to Brickell Jeep for the required recall software update. On January 23rd, I was notified that all recalls were complete and that I should come pick up the vehicle. After about a week, I realized that the high voltage battery would not hold a charge and would start to deplete after being fully charged and still plugged in. On February
... 6th, the vehicle was brought back in for repair. On March 22nd I was told that all was repaired and vehicle was delivered to my home. After about 10 days it one again would not hold a charge. On April 8th, the vehicle was brought back to the dealership. On June 11th I received a call from Stellantis Jeep customer care to inform me that currently, there is no fix for my vehicle and to pick it up and keep it plugged in or it will fail.Read more

While driving with my children inside the vehicle, the brakes failed to respond normally during an essential braking event, resulting in a near-miss collision and nearly causing our JEEP to roll over due to the sudden loss of electronic stability and traction controls August 2024. The lack of basic safety infrastructure makes this vehicle completely unsafe to operate, posing an extreme risk to my family and other drivers on the road. The component failure and active code C2200 were officially inspected, reproduced, and confirmed by a factory authorized Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership workshop. However, the manufacturer (Chrysler/Mopar) has placed this critical safety component on an indefinite, long term engineering backlog. While my wife was operating our 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series III (5.7L HEMI eTorque, ~44,700 miles) at highway speed, the vehicle suffered a sudden and complete electrical power failure. Electric power steering cut out completely while the vehicle was in motion, creating an immediate safety hazard and nearly causing an accident. The vehicle was disabled and required towing. The dealership (Safford J
... eep) diagnosed fault code P0B32: catastrophic internal hardware and voltage failure of the 48-volt eTorque Hybrid Battery Pack. The 12-volt battery was also destroyed as a consequence of the 48V pack failure — the 12V charges exclusively via a DC-to-DC converter fed by the 48V loop; when the pack failed, the converter lost power and the 12V battery was starved of charge. NOTE: This incident is consistent with the active NHTSA ODI preliminary evaluation of 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Ram 1500 eTorque electrical failures. FCA/Stellantis has acknowledged these failures are likely caused by an electrical concern. My P0B32 event represents a catastrophic failure of the exact system under investigation, with the additional safety consequence of complete loss of power steering at highway speed. Stellantis Corporate Case #96719164 is open. The vehicle has been repaired (48V battery pack replaced) but Stellantis has declined to address the warranty access barrier created by their diagnostic system architecture. The dealer's equipment required a new 12-volt battery installation before it could communicate with the covered hybrid system — a $645 mandatory prerequisite to accessing a Federal Emissions Warranty repair.Read more

While driving my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x2, the driver side Active Head Restraint deployed without any collision, rear impact, crash, or other triggering event. FCA/Stellantis has issued an X88 Active Head Restraint warranty extension for certain Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles involving inadvertent deployment of the front Active Head Restraint where it cannot be reset due to internal damage. My vehicle appears to have experienced the same failure mode, but Jeep/Stellantis has advised that my VIN does not qualify for X88 coverage, apparently because the vehicle was built after the selected warranty extension population. My vehicle build date is January 2018, with MDH 011623. I am filing this complaint because this was a safety related head restraint failure that occurred while driving without a collision. The sudden deployment caused a loud impact immediately behind my head and created a dangerous distraction. I am concerned that vehicles outside the current X88 warranty population may still be experiencing the same inadvertent Active Head Restraint failure. The vehicle was factory ordered and delivered in February 2018, which may explain the later January 2018 build date, but it is still a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and appears to have experienced the same inadvertent Active Head Restraint failure mode described in FCA’s X88 warranty extension.Read more
