I OWN A 2013 JAYCO GREYHAWK MOTORHOME ON THE FORD E-450 CHASSIS EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN LTX M/S TIRES, LT225-75R-16. THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIRES HAD 26,000 MILES ON THEM BEFORE PROBLEMS DEVELOPED. ON MY TRIP TO FLORIDA LAST MONTH, I HAD TO REPLACE 3 OF 6 TIRES DUE TO THE TREAD DELAMINATING COMPLETELY FROM THE TIRE AS IF THEY WERE RETREADS. THIS HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE TRAVELING AT 65 MPH. ... TIRES NVER LOST AIR PRESSURE, JUST THE COMPLETE TREAD. I ENDED UP REPLACING ALL 6 TIRES ON THE TRIP TO FOR OUR OWN SAFETY AND TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE COACH. THE MOTORHOME IS STORED INSIDE MY GARAGE WHEN NOT IN USE AND A TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN USE. THE DOT CODE IS B3JH 009X 3112 MAKING THEM JUST 4 1/2 YEARS OLD. I HAVE CONTACTED MICHELIN ABOUT THEM, BUT DON'T APPEAR TO BE VERY CONCERNED EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE HAD A PREVIOUS SAFETY RECALL FOR THIS SPECFIC SIZE TIRE FOR THE SAME SPECFIC REASONS! THE ORIGINAL RECALL WAS FOR THESE TIRES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 0210 - 2512. SUPPOSEDLY THE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED EVEN THOUGH MINE WAS MANUFACTURED JUST 6 WEEKS AFTER THE SAFETY RECALL ENDED. ANOTHER COMPLAINT WAS WRITTEN UP BY ANOTHER MOTORHOME OPERATOR IN THE SEPTEMBER 2016 MOTORHOME MAGAZINE ON PAGE 120. THE TIRES WERE THE SAME AGE. THIS JAYCO MOTOR HOME HAS MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL DEFECTS. WE ABSOLUTELY BELIEVE IT TO BE A FIRE HAZARD, AND DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING OR CAMPING IN IT. AFTER WORKING WITH A ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TECH OVER THE PHONE FOR 1 1/2 HOURS, WE DETERMINED THE FUSE BOX WAS LABELED INCORRECTLY. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO REPLACE A 30 AMP FUSE, WHICH I DID MULTIPLE TIMES DURING THE COURSE OF OUR TRIP. FINALLY, WHEN IT A

WHEN USED, IT JERKS VIOLENTLY AND LOUDLY GRATES AND SQUEALS, AS IF THE WIRES ARE RUBBING AGAINST EACH OTHER. SPARKS WERE SEEN NEAR THIS HARNESS. IF THE BUNK WON'T COME DOWN FOR USE, IT IS UNUSABLE; IF IT WON'T RAISE, THE COACH IS NOT DRIVABLE. PURCHASED FROM AN INDIVIDUAL THIS WHITEHAWK. NOTICED EXTREME TIRE WEAR ON THE TRAILER SO DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT SOME 2012 WHITEHAWKS HAD THE WRONG AXLES INSTALLED. JAYCO DID NOT RECALL ANY OF THESE WHITE HAWKS. I HAD TO PAY FOR LABOR ON A MISS-ASSEMBLY AND WILL HAVE TO REPLACE TIRES PREMATURELY.

HAD TO CHANGE AXLES ON WHITE HAWK AND THE GUY DOING THE WORK NOTICED THE BRAKES WERE MISSING A BUSHING ON THE ACTUATOR ARM. HE SAID IN THE 15 YEARS HE HAS NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE. I HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE BRAKE ASSEMBLIES DUE TO THE OMISSION OF THIS PART. DEXTER WOULD NOT REIMBURSE ME THE COST OF THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY.

A GUARDRAIL PREVENTED ME FROM ACCESSING THE TIRE. AS A RESULT I HAD TO MOVE DOWN THE EXTREMELY NARROW SHOULDER UNTIL THE GUARDRAIL ENDED (APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES). THE SERVICE MANAGER EXPLAINED THAT HE HIMSELF IS AWARE OF MULTIPLE CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS WITH THIS MODEL FROM HIS DEALERSHIP ALONE. HE SAID THAT JAYCO IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THEY WILL NOT ADDRESS IT OTHER THAT ASKING THE TECHS TO DO THE BEST THEY CAN TO FIX THEM. WHILE ON A TRIP TO FLORIDA, THE REAR OF THE MOTORHOME WAS SAGGING AND SWAYED TERRIBLY OVER UN-EVEN PAVEMENT AND IN WIND GUSTS. UPON MY RETURN HOME, I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FIGURED THAT THE CHASSIS IS UNDERSPRUNG CAUSING HANDLING AND SAFETY ISSUES. JAYCO INSTALLED RESIDENTIAL CARPET DIRECTLY OVER THE UNINSULATED FLOOR IF THE FORD E-450 CUTAWAY CHASSIS. WHEN THE UNIT IS SITTING IN TRAFFIC IN HOT WEATHER THE CARPET BEGINS TO MELT AND SMOKE. THIS IS MOST ACUTE AT HIGH AMBIENT TEMPERATURE WITH THE UNIT MOVING AT SLOW SPEED OR IF THE UNIT HAS BEEN DRIVING UP A LONG GRADE AND THEN IS STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR IN TRAFFIC.
