SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE IT HAS BEEN IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM 12 TIMES. EACH TIME THE BILL HAS BEEN BETWEEN $900.00 AND $1500.00 THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM. THE THROTTLE CONTROL HAS BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES. THE ENGINE LIGHTS GO ON IN THE DASH AND THE CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE EVEN ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. WE PURCHASED A NEW S-TYPE 2000 JAGUAR. THE CAR NOW HAS 40,000 MILES AND HAS HAD THREE TRANSMISSIONS. STARTING WITH THE SECOND TRANSMISSION, I TRIED TO GET JAGUAR TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND ADMIT THIS CAR WAS FAULTY. UNFORTUNATELY NOTHING REALLY HAPPENED. ... WAS TOLD THE CAR NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THIS WOULD MAKE THE THRID. THE CAR WAS ALSO OUT OF WARRENTY BY THREE MONTHS WHICH TRANSLATED TO MY PAYING FOR THE $6000 TRANSMISSION. AGAIN, I CONTACTED JAG CORP AND EVEN GOT SO FAR AS TO HAVE A CUSTOMER REP LOOK INTO MY CASE. THEY LOOKED AND DECLINED ANY RESPONSIBILTY. I GOT THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED AND PAID THE 6 GRAND. THE CAR HAS BEEN OUT OF THE SHOP FOR THREE DAYS. IT HAS ITS THIRD TRANSMISSION. YESTERDAY, THE CAR STARTED MAKING NOISE. I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED IN. I WAS JUST NOTIFIED THAT THE CAR NEEDS ANOTHER TRANSMISSION. THIS WILL MAKE THE FOURTH. THE THRID ONE WAS ONLY THREE DAYS OLD BEFORE IT WENT OUT. SO FAR WE ARE GETTING ABOUT 10,000 MILES PER TRANSMISSION AND ALL JAG MANAGED TO OFFER WAS $1000 TOWARDS THE THIRD ONE. I CAN NOT BELIEVE ANY CAR MANUFACTURER WOULD THINK SO LITTLE OF ITS CUSTOMERS THAT THEY TURN A COLD EYE TO A CAR THAT SO OBVIOUSLY HAS A MAJOR FAULT. MAKING BRAKE DISTANCE IMPOSSIBLE TO PREDICT. CAUSING ACCIDENTS AT TRAFFIC STOPPING POINTS. ALSO SIGNIFICANT LURCHING AT 15MPH, 40MPH AND THEN AFTER 70MPH. I LEASED A NEW 2004 JAGUAR X TYPE FROM SHELTON JAGUAR IN NAPLES, FLORIDA IN LATE MARCH. I NOTICED A SHUDDER IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND WENT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO REPORT IT. I SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER ON APRIL 15TH AND HE SAID THAT IT WAS NORMAL FOR THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. LATER THE SAME DAY, AS I WAS TURNING LEFT AT AN INTERSECTION, I HEARD A LOUD BANG AND IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING DROPPED

A POLICEMAN CAME ALONG AND MADE ME MOVE MY CAR INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT. I DID SO WITH GREAT RESERVATIONS BECAUSE THE DRAGGING METAL WAS MAKING SPARKS AS I DROVE. WHEN THE POLICEMAN LOOKED UNDER MY CAR IN THE PARKING LOT, HE SAID THAT THE GAS TANK HAD FALLEN AND WAS RESTING ON THE PIECE OF METAL THAT WAS DRAGGING ON THE GROUND. I CALLED JAGUAR ROADSIDE SERVICE AND THEY SENT A FLATBED TRUCK, WHO REFUSED TO LOAD MY CAR BECAUSE IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS. THE DEALERSHIP WAS CLOSED SO JAGUAR TOLD ME TO LEAVE MY VEHICLE IN THE PARKING LOT AND TAKE A CAB HOME, WHICH I DID. THE NEXT MORNING I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY RECOVERED MY CAR. THEY REPAIRED IT BUT I WANTED A NEW CAR AS I WAS WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF DRIVING THIS ONE. THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME ONE.
