WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR A WEEK LATER IT BLEW HOT AIR, I WAS TOLD IT ONLY NEEDED FREON. I FOUND OUT LATER THAT THERE WAS A LEAK AND IT IS $1200. A WEEK AFTER THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT START THE DEALER PICKED THE CAR UP AND SAID THAT THE BATTERY WAS DEAD BECAUSE I LEFT THE RADIO ON, IT HAS HAPPENED OVER 30 TIMES, NOT TRUE THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG. I HAVE REPLACED TIRES AT LEAST SIX TIMES. TIRES COMPLETEL

IT NOW HAPPENS WHEN I HIT A BUMP. WHEN I TURN THE CAR MAKES A EXTREMELY LOUD NOISE, (EMBARRASSING) I WAS TOLD IT IS A BALL JOINT AND CAN CATCH ON FIRE. ENGINE LIGHT HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON AND IS NOW BLINKING AND THE CAR SHAKES AND HESITATES. I HAD TO PAY TO GET THE BRAKES FIXED 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING. RADIO TURNS ON FOR NO REASON AND RUNS BATTERY DOWN. I WAS TOLD I HAVE TWO LEAKS IN MY SHOCKS AND IT IS $1800 EACH. WHEN I BACK UP AND TURN THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES. I CAN'T EVEN USE THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER TO CHARGE MY CELL BECAUSE IT DOES NOT WORK AND HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE. THE REMOTE JUST STOP WORKING AND I WAS CHARGED $100 TO RECONFIGURE. JAGUAR XK8. VEHICLE WITH 54K MILES ALWAYS DEALER SERVICES. TIMING CHAIN BROKE WHILE DRIVING, WAS ABLE TO GET CAR OUT OF TRAFFIC WITHOUT INCIDENT. CONTACTED JAGUAR AND THEY DID NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THERE WAS A PROBLEM. JAGUAR HAS KNOWN THE PLASTIC TIMING CHAIN GUIDES TO BE DEFECTIVE. THE HAVE HAD TWO DESIGN REVISIONS AND NOW PUT A METAL GUIDE IN THE CARS SINCE 2002. JAGUAR DOES NOT ADVISE OWN

THE DEALER AND INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOPS TELL ME THEY ARE REPAIRING THESE ALL THE TIME IN LOW MILEAGE ENGINES 45-70K AND THE INTERNET IS LITTERED WITH THE SAME. HARD TO BELIEVE JAGUAR HAS NOT BEEN FORCED IN TO A RECALL OR SOME TYPE OF VOLUNTARY REPAIR PROGRAM. MY WIFE'S X TYPE 2002 JAGUAR WAS RIDING VERY ROUGH AND I ASKED OUR LOCAL MECHANIC TO BALANCE THE TIRES. HE CALLED IN SHOCK ADVISING THAT THE INTERIOR WALL OF A REAR GOODYEAR AMERICAN EAGLE TIRE WAS CRACKED ALL AROUND THE RIM OF THE TIRE AND WE WERE LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. WHILE AWAY ON A BUSINESS TRIP MY WIFE CALLED TO TELL ME THAT OUR 200 S TYPE JAGUAR WAS INOPERABLE AND THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS "FLOATING" - NOT ABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. UPON INSPECTION I FOUND THAT THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER WAS BROKEN. I CALLED THE DEALER IN HARRISBURG PA AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT SINCE IT WAS ON AN INCLINE WE SHOULD HAVE USED THE EMERGENCY BRAK

WHILE DRIVING MY 2001 JAGUAR XK-8/ CV. AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITH THE TOP DOWN, THE HYDRAULIC FLUID FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP STARTED LEAKING FROM THE CENTER LOCK DOWN MECHANISM ON THE WINDSHIELD FRAME. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS WINDSHIELD WIPER SPRAY FROM THE CAR IN FRONT OF US. I WIPED MY FACE WITH MY HAND AND FELT AN OILY SUBSTANCE. WHEN I SHIFTED THE CAR INTO PARK I FELT A DROP HIT THE BACK OF MY HAND, THAT IS WHEN I NOTICED THE HYDRAULIC FLUID LEAKING FROM THE WINDSHIELD FRAME. THE COVER FOR THE LOCK MECHANISM IS A MESH METAL TRIM PLATE, AS WE DROVE AT SPEED THE OIL TURNED INTO A FINE MIST AND WAS SPRAYING IN MY FACE. ONCE THE CAR WAS STOPPED IT POOLED ON THE COVER UNTIL IT DRIPPED ONTO THE CENTER CONSOLE. NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A SEVERE PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. CAR WAS PARKED IN GARAGE & GASOLINE SPILLED UNDER THE CAR DAMAGING GARAGE FLOOR & SMELLING UP THE WHOLE HOUSE & GARAGE. CAR WAS TAKEN TO DEALER AFTER WE CLEANED UP THE GAS & GOT CAR OUT OF GARAGE. THIS SMACKS OF THE WAY THAT FORD COMPANY (WHICH NOW OWNS JAGUAR) HANDLED THE PINTO GAS TANK PROBLEM IN THE 60'S. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT OR KILLED. WE FEEL THAT WE COULD HAVE LOST OUR HOUSE DUE TO THE EXTREME GAS SPILL IN OUR GARAGE OR WORSE WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IF IT HAD EXPLODED WHEN WE OPENED THE GARAGE DOOR. TOOK MY 2000 JAG S TYPE TO DEALER ON 2 DEC 2005 FOR RECALL OF ENGINE BREATHER ELBOW. THE ENGINE BREATHER VENT TUBE WAS REPLACED. AT THE SAME TIME, I TOLD THE DEALER THAT MY ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON -- THEY CHECKED IT AND STATED THAT I NEEDED A FUEL INTAKE SENSOR. ON 9 DEC THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED. WITHIN A WEEK, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON, WAS ADVISED THAT THE PART WAS PROBABLY BAD, THEY ORDERED
... A NEW PART AND IT WAS INSTALLED. LEFT THE LOT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT RETURNED. I RETURNED TO THE LOT THE NEXT DAY AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY CLEANED ALL THE WIRES AND APPLIED STAB LINT TO THE HARNESS. LEFT LOT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT RETURNED. WAS THEN TOLD THAT IT WAS NO LONGER THE FUEL TEMPERATURE, IT WAS A WIRING PROBLEM AND THEY WOULD NEED AT LEAST 3-HOURS TO TRACE THE WIRING THAT THE PROBLEM WAS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN THE PROCESSOR AND THE SENSOR. MUST REMOVE INTAKE AND HARDWARE TO ACCESS. NOT VERY COMFORTABLE WITH THE EXPLANATION SO I TOOK THE CAR TO ANOTHER IMPORT DEALER AND HE STATED THAT IT HAD 2-MISFIRES AND THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED REPLACING AND SOMETHING ABOUT ODU. I WAS ASKED IF MY CAR HAD GONE THROUGH EMISSION TESTING AND IN FEB/MAR 06, MY CAR PASSED EMISSION TESTING WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. ALSO THE DEALER FOUND A FORD NEW CLAMP (I HAVE PICTURES AND THE CLAMP) IN MY VEHICLE SITTING ABOVE ONE OF THE PISTONS CAUSING A GAP. HE THOUGHT THAT THIS MIGHT HAVE BEEN WHAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. WELL, IT SEEMS THAT MY CAR IS BEING CONSTANTLY DIAGNOSED ON MY $$$. IF THE PROBLEM IS NOT THERE, I GET A BILL, PAY FOR IT. LO AND BEHOLD, THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND NOW IT IS FOR ANOTHER REASON. SEEMS LIKE THE DEALERS ARE TROUBLE SHOOTING ON MY DIME. MY CAR IS SICK -- IT IS LIKE IT IS STRUGGLING TO GET ITS NEXT BREATH OR THAT SOMETHING IS BLOCKING THE AIR FLOW. IT SPUTTERS AT A POINT. I APPLIED BRAKE & MADE RIGHT TURN INTO PARKING SPACE. I THEN APPLIED MORE PRESSURE TO BRAKE TO STOP CAR. CAR DID NOT STOP, BUT CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD AS IF I HAD NOT APPLIED MORE PRESSURE TO BRAKE. REALIZING I MAY HIT CURB, I PUSHED BRAKE PEDDLE DOWN HARD, & ADDED LEFT FOOT TO BRAKE PEDAL ALONG WITH RIGHT FOOT. BRAKE PEDAL LOST ALL RESISTANCE, & MY FEET WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR. CAR ACCELERATE
... D FORWARD & CRASHED INTO CEMENT STEPS. CAR WAS TOWED TO JAG AUTHORIZED BODY SHOP, THEN TOWED TO DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. DEALER SENT COMPUTER READOUT TO JAGUAR ENGINEERS TO ANALYZE. THEY COULD NOT "FIND" THE PROBLEM, SO JAGUAR TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM! JUST BECAUSE JAGUAR COULD NOT "FIND" THE PROBLEM, DOES NOT MEAN THERE IS NO PROBLEM! JAGUAR WILL NOT DISCLOSE TO EITHER MYSELF OR DEALER WHAT PARTS WERE TESTED OR RESULTS OF TESTS. JAGUAR JUST SAYS CAR CONFORMS TO MANUFACTURER SPECIFICATIONS. JAGUAR REFUSES TO PUT IN WRITING THAT THIS CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE. ANOTHER INDICATION OF A MALFUNCTION IS THAT 5 DAYS BEFORE THE ACCIDENT I RE- LEASED THIS 2003 CAR. DEALER LOOKED AT THE MILEAGE ON IT AND WROTE IT ON THE LEASE. THEN 5 DAYS LATER WHEN IT CRASHED & GOT TOWED TO THE BODY SHOP, THE BODY SHOP WROTE DOWN THE MILEAGE UPON ARRIVAL. ( CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO BE DRIVEN). MY INSURANCE APPRAISER AND THEIR INVESTIGATOR ALSO WROTE DOWN THAT SAME MILEAGE NUMBER. THE ODOMETER HAD REGISTERED 440 MILES MORE THAN ON THE DATE OF THE LEASE, YET I HAD ACTUALLY ONLY DRIVEN IT A MAXIMUM OF 100 MILES! DEALER & JAGUAR SAID THEY HAVE NO WAY TO DIAGNOSE THIS & PUT BLAME ON CLERICAL ERROR. NO CLERICAL ERROR COULD EXPLAIN 440 MILES! JAGUAR CANNOT EXPLAIN THIS, SO THEY IGNORED I!. THEY CAN'T EXPLAIN WHY THE CAR DID NOT STOP AND ACCELERATED, SO THEY BLAME THAT ON DRIVER ERROR! NOTICING SO MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM JAGUAR OWNERS ON YOUR WEB-SITE FOR THE VERY SAME THING. RECEIVED A MESSAGE "FUEL COMPUTER DATA ERROR" THIS MESSAGE STOPS THE SPEEDOMETER FROM WORKING, STOPS THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES FROM FUNCTIONING, STOP THE CRUISE CONTROL FROM WORKING AND STOPS THE TRIP COMPUTER FROM FUNCTIONING. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL GARAGES LOOK AT THE PROBLEM INCLUDING JAGUAR, AND NO ONE CAN FIND THE PROBLEM AFTER MANY HOURS OF LABOR. *NM
