Dear Highway Safety Authority Officer I am writing to formally request an investigation into a potential safety concern involving structural rust on the engine subframe (engine cradle) of the Audi A6, particularly in models from 2012 There have been growing concerns among owners and independent mechanics regarding excessive and premature rust and corrosion affecting the structural integrity of the
... engine mounting frame. In some cases, this corrosion could potentially compromise the stability of the engine or the safety of the vehicle during operation. Given the importance of this component to both drivability and crash safety, this issue merits further inspection. I am bringing this to your attention in hopes that your office will investigate whether this represents a broader manufacturing or design defect, and if a recall or safety advisory might be warranted. For your reference, the vehicle in question is: Make/Model: Audi A6 Model Year: 2012 VIN : [XXX] Description of issue: Extensive rust to the frame and some cracks I am happy to provide additional documentation or photographs to assist in the review process. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Ensuring the structural safety of vehicles on the road is of utmost importance, and I appreciate your diligence. I got the email and the postcard in the mail stating there was a U90 recall for my car. That was over a year ago. I called Betten-Baker in Lowell, MI. they put me on a "list" and said they'd call me, haven't heard from them, it's been 10 months. This is a billion dollar company, why is it taking so long to get this problem fixed? I would really like an answer please. Thank you

I have been encountering a persistent issue with the engine, which exhibits symptoms of underperformance, occasionally necessitating a complete stop. Additionally, the ABS warning light activates intermittently without providing any diagnostic codes before subsequently disappearing. A recent diagnostic check identified several minor concerns. I've also observed a degradation in the vehicle's
... handling characteristics, paired with a "Stability Control No Longer Available" warning message. I have ruled out a fuse-related issue, as all fuses have been assessed and found to be functional. Furthermore, my vehicle seems subject to additional recall considerations. Reports of stability control failures have emerged in various Jaguar models, including the F-Type, typically attributable to sensor failures or malfunctions within the electronic control module. Common culprits for these stability control issues include faulty wheel speed sensors or problems with the ABS control module. Such malfunctions frequently trigger warning lights, suggesting compromised efficiency in the stability control system and its associated subsystems. This instability resulted in me temporarily losing control of the vehicle, culminating in a 180-degree spin and subsequent collision. Reports online: AI Overview Reports of stability control system failures in certain Jaguar models, including the F-Type, stemming from faulty wheel speed sensors or ABS control module issues, could potentially increase the risk of an accident. Here's why: Compromised Stability and Traction: The stability control system (DSC in Jaguar) helps maintain vehicle stability by detecting and mitigating loss of traction or skidding by adjusting engine power and applying brakes to individual wheels. When it malfunctions, you may experience difficulty maintaining control, especially during sharp turns, evasive maneuvers, or on slippery surfaces, potentially leading to skidding and loss of control.Read more

1) The fuel delivery system is affected — specifically, a faulty fuel pump which may fail and cause engine stalling while driving. This issue is under Ford Safety Recall 25S75 (NHTSA 25V-455). The vehicle is still in my possession and available for inspection upon request. 2) The recall clearly states that the vehicle can stall unexpectedly while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. On a re
... cent highway trip ([XXX]), my Expedition began shaking at high speeds, and continued shaking while parked, indicating worsening fuel system issues. I have three young children (ages [XXX] , [XXX] , and [XXX] ) who regularly ride in the vehicle. Being told to continue driving under these conditions with no available fix has placed my entire family and others on the road at risk. 3) Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Not yet. When I called Ford customer service to report the issue and request a safe alternative, I was told there was no further action available and that I should continue driving the vehicle. I was referred to my local Ford dealership, who also said they could not take any action until a remedy is issued. 4) Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Because Ford has no remedy available, they have not performed any inspection or offered assistance. The dealership confirmed they cannot inspect or service the vehicle related to this recall until Ford issues a fix. 5) Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lights or error messages, during a return trip from Texas [XXX] the vehicle began shaking noticeably at highway speeds, and continued shaking heavily while in park. These symptoms had never occurred before, and they align with the type of failure described in the recall notice. The vehicle unexpectedly began accelerating from a creep with no accelerator input. Acceleration ceased immediately as soon a the brake pedal was touched. No actual braking was required--simply a touch on the pedal. Acceleration was as if the accelerator pedal had been pressed about 1/4 down. It lasted about 1.5 seconds from initiation to touching the brake pedal. The pavement was not on a grade b
... ut was substantially level. This is the 3rd or 4th such incident in the last few months. In the other incidents I was unsure if it was my imagination or some unrelated factor like grade. In previous incidents I had been about to accelerate in any case, and pressing the accelerator overtook it. In this incident, the car was navigating a parking lot, having just pulled out of the parking space and moved 50-100 ft. The car was moving in "creep" mode, i.e., the EV system simulating the creep of an automatic transmission (ca 0-4 mph). My impression is that each incident occured not long after restarting the car, though I am not fully certain of this. In this occurence there was one passenger; in all previous occurences there was no passengers. In all occurences, the Cruise Control system was on but not engaged. The "driving style" was set for Normal, as opposed to Sport or Eco. No alerts or unexpected lights were observed on the instrument panel. For the latest incident, the driver's floor mat was checked and found to be properly secured and well clear of the accelerator pedal. The car's last (and only) service was the normal Honda "A1" maintenance in May 2025 at ~11000 miles. Service was done at a Honda shop, so any firmware should be current to that date. The shop was not notified of the acceleration issue at that time. The Honda shop has been notified today (July 5).Read more

My vehicle was serviced 05/03/24, after the 60,000 whatever service, The Sewell dealership of N. ... The following conversation was exchanged from myself & someone named Ben, from the Sewell dealership in North Austin: [From Ben: I am not as familiar from the surface, but everything was explained in the video from the technician. The failed component is the bearing of the turbocharger which caused a major oil leak. This oil leak was the smoke you were seeing from the exhaust. We know for sure that the turbocharger will need to be replaced. The engine has a high likelihood of needing replacement as it was oil starved due to the major oil leak from the turbocharger. There is metal in the oil from inside the engine indicating internal failure from not having enough oil. From Me: which makes no sense, having just had all these things checked, back in May, with no indication of any leaks of anything other than what was shown.] ANDDD, which was supposedly fixed. I have the video footage of the technician doing a walk through in May of 2024, pointing out an oil leak, which I paid to have fix, but was later told I had no oil in my engine in July of 2024, without any warning. The car has not been drivable since, because I was quoted over 50,000 for the Turbo & Engine Replacement. Vehicle Safety Concerns and Lack of Dealer Support As we approach a stop going about 20 mph and begin to apply the brakes as we pass over some slightly bumpy ground. We contacted Hyundai Corporation to discuss this issue and determine any other feasible solution but unfortunately they were not able to assist in a timely manner. The braking problem has persisted. Description of problem: The Transmission will disengage while driving, allowing the car to 'coast' as if in neutral. The problem sometimes occurs at red lights, where the vehicle remains stationary for a brief period and then corrects itself as if nothing happened. I noticed the "D" character flashing on the dashboard when the issue occurred, indicating a problem. The engine will rev, but the car
... will not move. The vehicle spent about two weeks at the dealership (Hyundai of New Port Richie, FL), but they were unable to find an issue after conducting over 80 miles of test driving. The last incident occurred on June 8, 2025, only days after I had removed the vehicle from the repair shop due to this problem. When pulling into my son's driveway, the car's engine revved to about three thousand RPM, and the vehicle rolled backward, out of his driveway, and into crossing traffic. Luckily, the pickup truck on the street was able to stop before hitting my vehicle, which was now sitting in his lane of traffic. I looked down at the dashboard, and the car was still in "D" but would not move forward. After a few seconds, the transmission re-engaged and moved forward again as if nothing had happened. I DID NOTHING AND THE CAR RECOVERED BY ITSELF! I returned the vehicle to the dealership for further investigation on June 9, 2025, and am driving a rental. Summary: This car is unpredictable and unsafe in this condition. Someone could drive this car for days without experiencing an issue, but it does happen when you least expect it! What happened? Starting in October 2020, my 2019 Jaguar F-Type experienced persistent electrical and fuel injector system failures affecting cylinders 1 and 5, resulting in multiple engine misfires and reduced engine performance. The vehicle’s fuel injector connectors, specifically connector C1E121A, had misaligned pins causing injector circuit faults (DTC codes P0262, P0274) and frequent misfi
... re codes (P0301, P0305, P0300). These defects caused the vehicle to run roughly and unpredictably, creating a safety risk by compromising engine power and potentially causing loss of control, especially during startup and acceleration. Warning lights and engine fault codes were present throughout the issue. Jaguar dealerships confirmed the problem multiple times through diagnostic testing and extensive inspections, including wiring tests, fuel system checks, and control module evaluations. Despite repeated repairs, including connector reseating and injector replacements during the powertrain warranty period, the defect was never permanently fixed. The vehicle was out of service for over 6 months from August 2021 to April 2022 due to attempts to resolve the problem. After the warranty expired, the same symptoms and fault codes recurred. The dealer diagnosed that the engine must be completely replaced due to persistent injector circuit failures, with an estimated repair cost of $33,000. This ongoing defect severely affects the vehicle’s reliability and safety. The problem and its cause have been confirmed by multiple authorized dealers and Jaguar North America.Read more

My car has been stalling and shaking for months on acceleration. This has put me in unsafe situations where vehicles are going very fast on the highway and I am going 20 miles under the speed limit, or I am accelerating to merge and my car fails to accelerate, or I'm on the regular road and my car slows to a crawl while people are coming in fast behind me. The Error Code is: Cylinder 3 misfire.
... Took it to the dealer, they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it because the light was not on, they updated the software, as soon as I drove home the problem came back. They still charged me $200 for service, even thought the vehicle is under powertrain warranty which covers the cylinder block head and all internal parts. Online research shows this is a common problem in 2017 Hyundai Elantras. Many tried replacing coils and spark plugs only for the problem to return again a few months later. One successful fix found the computer needed to be replaced with a new one.Read more

In May 2023 I bought a new 2023 Cadillac Escalade (because the engine on my 2021 Tahoe was being replaced—NHTSA 11658068). After owning the Escalade just under a year I started noticing it making odd engine noises, most often at a cold startup. It sounded like a ticking or vibration and was pretty loud. On April 30, 2024 I took the Escalade to Blackstone Cadillac in Fresno CA where they found Cy
... linder 2 was misfiring. They said it was related to TSB #19-NA-218 and recommended an engine replacement, which they completed, and I picked it up May 22, 2024. The new engine runs rough, tons of vibration, and frequently struggles with the automatic start/stop function at red lights. It will shut off and start up immediately, or it won’t want to start back up at all. Due to these concerns I took it back to Blackstone Cadillac in October 2024. The mechanics put my Escalade side by side with another Escalade and listened to both engines and they said it sounded the same and couldn’t find anything wrong with it. My Escalade continues to run rough, odd vibrations and problems with automatic start/stop to this day. I just received the recall notice “N252494000 L87 engine loss of propulsion” for my Escalade and was notified that a remedy is not available. I called the dealership and they confirmed, there is currently no remedy available for the recall on my Escalade. I am worried and scared to drive it because I was stranded in the middle of a highway with the same L87 engine on my 2021 Tahoe (NHTSA 11658068). I don’t know what to do.Read more

Having the vehicle brand new for 6 years a 2018 ford escape titanium with no problem and been maintained brought to Golf Mill ford in Niles Il every 6 months and I was not told there is any problem in my car, the last time it was checked was January 2025 and all were fine I was told. The vehicle placed 5 lives was put at risk of death because of this break failure that shouldn't happen, this is something that needed checked ( and ESCALATED) and take seriously before multiple lives can possibly affected or taken. I HOPE FORD reach out to me of this matter I almost lost my husband and Son with this defect. No warning lights or anything for this brake failure and this 2018 ford escape vehicle should be updated with the technology but it's just a failure now I AM LEFT WITH NO CAR, and per state farm liable to the other party or defected car hit and we should me responsible FORD should take that responsibility. NOW I DONT KNOW IF I SHOULD GET ANOTHER FORD THE TRUST HAS BEEN TARNISHED NOT UNTIL MAYBE FROM FORD REACH OUT TO ME DIRECTLY. and I have Statefarm , I didn't feel that I was heard.. This is not our fault it's a defect. Hopefully NHTSA can help us investigate this matter.Read more

In connection with Recall H514, my 2019 Jaguar I-Pace (SADHD2S16K1 F76172) had a battery fire risk that led Jaguar to issue a software update. Without prior notice, the update permanently disabled full battery function by capping the vehicle’s charge at 80%, significantly reducing range and usability. The update was irreversible and materially changed the safety and performance of the electric v
... ehicle. After being forced to seek a replacement, I purchased a 2020 Jaguar I-Pace (SADHD2S17L1F81804). During transport of the 2020 vehicle home, it exhibited an “Electrical Battery Fault” warning, raising serious concerns about the continued reliability and safety of Jaguar’s battery systems even after the recall. This ongoing pattern of battery issues places consumers at risk of fire, vehicle immobilization, or loss of propulsion. Jaguar’s recall remedy has proven ineffective at fully addressing the underlying electrical and propulsion safety issues.Read more

Jaguar Land Rover North America (JLR) continues to neglect its federal recall obligations for the 2019 I-PACE under recalls H441, H514, and H536, exposing owners to serious fire risks. Despite multiple recall efforts, thermal overload incidents persist, proving JLR’s interim remedies—software updates and charging restrictions—are ineffective. JLR admits in its notices that affected vehicles
... remain unsafe, yet fails to resolve the defect or provide fair compensation. The only remedy is a manufacturer buyback, but JLR systematically undervalues offers, basing them on depressed Kelley Blue Book (KBB) values from Oct 2024 instead of pre-defect values minus reasonable depreciation. This forces owners into financial losses while JLR’s delays further erode resale value. JLR has refused to provide clear documentation on its buyback calculations, delayed responses to affected owners, and employed coercive tactics, telling consumers to accept flawed offers or risk future depreciation. In March 2023, nine months after purchasing our I-PACE, we experienced the first of three "Traction Battery Faults," narrowly avoiding fire. Since then, our vehicle has been restricted to an 80% charge, reducing range by 26% while still requiring outdoor parking due to fire risk. JLR’s failure to act promptly violates federal safety standards and leaves affected vehicles as potential hazards in public spaces. I urge NHTSA to investigate and enforce timely recall remedies, fair valuation processes, and immediate buyback completion. Owners should not be receiving emails like this. "It appears that we cannot agree on the repurchase of your MY2019 Jaguar I-PACE impacted by recall H514/H536. Please note that this final recall remedy will remain open on your vehicle. In the future, should you decide to accept the H536 final recall remedy (repurchase) for your MY2019 Jaguar I-PACE, the amount offered at that time may not be the same as today, due to depreciation, age, and mileage."Read more
