I am writing to formally request that Jaguar Land Rover North America repurchase my 2020 I-PACE. The vehicle has two unrepaired safety recalls for high-voltage battery thermal overload, including one for which no final remedy is yet available, and it is currently inoperable due to a recurring drive-motor fault that the servicing dealer's own technician has documented as pre-existing. I believe the
... se issues are interrelated and originate in the vehicle's high-voltage electrical system. Confirmed recall status (per NHTSA VIN lookup): - [XXX] / NHTSA 26V-067 — Recall Incomplete. NHTSA's summary states that since installation of the protective software, field evidence shows a risk of thermal overload remains in vehicles with battery packs manufactured through the end of the 2021 model year, which includes this vehicle. - H572 / NHTSA 26V-067 — Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available. Both recalls concern thermal overload in the high-voltage traction battery that may present as smoke or fire, with risk of occupant injury, injury to others, and property damage. Owners are advised to limit charging and park away from structures. Vehicle history and current status: - On XXX, the vehicle was towed to the dealer because it was dead and would not start. - The dealer's technician comments on RO XXX state that fault code P0A40-00 (Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Circuit Range/Performance) "originally occurred prior to any work being performed" at 90,585 km on 31-May-2026, 15:42:35 UTC, "and keeps returning." This places the drive-motor fault at the time the vehicle arrived inoperable, before any service work, and identifies it as recurring. - The technician replaced the 12V start-up battery (which had failed testing and would not hold charge) and cleared faults. After this, the vehicle displayed a flashing "D," would not drive, and would not shift to Park. A separate code, U2109-09, was logged for TCU back-up battery failure. - Jaguar INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C.Read more

I am the owner of a 2020 Jaguar I-PACE, VIN: [INSERT VIN], subject to NHTSA Recall 26V067. The interim software remedy under campaign H570 has been installed on my vehicle, capping the battery charge at 90%. I reside in a designated fire hazard zone in Santa Monica, California, in a densely populated residential area. I contacted NHTSA directly on June 5th 2027 at appx 10:20 AM and was advised th
... at it is still not safe to park the vehicle inside or charge it indoors, even after the H570 software update has been applied. However, the Executive Liaison at Jaguar Land Rover North America's Customer Relationship Center, Judianne Di Leo, stated in writing yesterday that, following the H570 update, all parking and charging precautions are lifted and the vehicle can be operated as normal. This directly contradicts the guidance I received from NHTSA. I submitted a formal repurchase request to [XXX] under the California Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. Jaguar Land Rover North America denied that request in writing, with no explanation or legal basis provided. The permanent remedy under campaign H572 remains open and under development with no committed timeline. I am filing this complaint because I believe Jaguar Land Rover North America is providing customers with safety guidance that contradicts NHTSA's own recall documentation, and because I am unable to safely comply with the parking and charging instructions in a fire hazard zone with no remedy INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Incident date: May 28, 2026
The vehicle has experienced repeated high‑voltage battery system failures consistent with the symptoms described in the current open safety recall for this model. The vehicle first displayed a “High Voltage System Fault” warning, loss of A/C cooling, and inability to charge. A dealer confirmed an HV isolation fault and documented an isolation reading of only 38 megaohms, which is far below n
... ormal and indicates a dangerous high‑voltage isolation breakdown. They replaced the front inverter (EPIC), the 3‑phase cable, and the high‑voltage cable to the battery. Less than a year later, the same “High Voltage System Fault” warning reappeared and the vehicle again became unable to charge. The dealer stated that “the same repair performed in the front is now needed in the rear,” indicating a second HV isolation failure in another section of the high‑voltage system. This suggests a systemic defect in the high‑voltage battery pack or associated components, consistent with the recall involving thermal overload, internal shorts, and isolation failure. The vehicle is currently subject to an open recall instructing owners to limit charging to 90% and charge only outdoors due to fire risk. The repeated failures create a safety hazard due to potential thermal events, loss of propulsion, and inability to safely charge the vehicle. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer multiple times. Despite this, the dealer is attempting to charge for repairs that appear directly related to the recall defect, and no permanent remedy has been provided.Read more

This is an urgent update to a safety complaint filed on May 28, 2026 regarding a 2020 Jaguar I-PACE (VIN: [XXX] ). Today, May 29, 2026, a Jaguar Corporate Executive Liaison officially issued a written denial of alternative safe transportation (Case #XXX). The manufacturer explicitly claimed in writing that the vehicle is "safe to drive" and that parking it outside is "entirely my decision," direct
... ly contradicting active NHTSA Campaign 26V067000 (H570) documentation. JLR federal filings state that the final physical remedy (H572) is still under development and that instructions to park outside away from structures remain actively in effect. The manufacturer is actively misrepresenting the safety metrics of an uncorrected high-voltage battery fire risk to consumers. Furthermore, because I reside at [XXX] —a high-density neighborhood heavily vulnerable to fire spread and directly adjacent to the active Palisades wildfire zone—complying with the "park outside away from structures" mandate while holding the car is a physical impossibility. JLR Corporate is actively denying necessary safety accommodations, exposing the consumer and public to severe fire liability. At 11:45 AM, a Waymo AV stopped in the middle northbound lane at the Kierland Commons/Scottsdale Quarter signaled pedestrian crosswalk. The stop signal was not on. Pedestrians were standing on the sidewalk waiting for the signal to turn so they could cross Scottsdale Road. I assume the Waymo AV saw the pedestrians standing on the sidewalk and decided to stop. I was directly behind the Waymo AV. Tr
... affic was passing us in both lanes. The Waymo AV remained stopped until the pedestrian signal came on and did not move forward until after the signal turned off. Fortunately, vehicles behind me were paying attention and did not rear-end anybody. The main issue involves a Waymo AV coming to a stop when it sees pedestrians waiting to cross the street, rather than paying attention to the pedestrian signal light, which is a blinking red light over each lane when triggered by a pedestrian that turns solid red, allowing pedestrians to cross the street. I have provided this information to Waymo LLC and they have responded that they are looking into why this Waymo AV stopped when it should not have stopped.Read more

A waymo put pedestrian and public safety at risk on 5/12/26 at approximately 7:50 pm when it stopped halfway through an intersection at 14th, Market, and Church Street in San Francisco alongside a crosswalk. As one of the vehicles it was advancing towards I laid on my horn to try to get it to stop, but it didn't and the car next to me had to back up away from it to avoid collision. The waymo stopped about 1 foot away from the car before reversing into the intersection again (see pictures) and then turning onto 14th andriving away. The waymo essentially used a very busy intersection and active crosswalk to execute a 3 point turn. Without human driver intervention a collision was likely with a vehicle or pedestrian.Read more

... n the fault. The service manager shared with me that there are two reasons for the issue in his experience - 1. the vehicle was in a collision and the sensors fail to lock out or 2. there is wiring under the seat that failed either at the harness or on the wire directly. #1 can be ruled out by the vehicle history report and the car was never in a collision. #2 is the only viable reason based on vehicle use. If this is the case, it's a design flaw that must be addressed by the manufacturer. More investigation should be conducted to find the cause (e.g. electronic seat adjustments damaging SRS wiring, faulty electrical components, OTA software patches, etc.). Regardless, it's unacceptable for customers to bear the financial responsibility of an SRS failure.Read more

There's a knocking or clicking sound when I turn, and sometimes when I'm not turning. It seems to be coming from the front left wheel area.
Incident date: Apr 12, 2026
The front drivers side headlamp malfunctioned after condensation entered the lamp via rain and then humidity. The issue first started April 12, 2026. I was leaving to go on a 260 miles drive when I pulled out of the drive way and I started getting a flickering "Dipped Beam Fault". It started flickering on and off as I was picking up speed to merge onto the interstate. I drove all those miles with
... my left thumb on the Menu OK button to clear it. Then it would come back on again as I was going through two major cities. It was very distracting and I kept glancing down every time it would light up. It did this for 5 hours. Also, my signal light was malfunctioning but I always tried to use it even so because of the heavy traffic. I called Jaguar when I got home and the women on the line said she had never heard of anything like this before and to take it to the dealership. So I took it to Jaguar and they did a complete inspection and told me the entire light component would have to be replaced because the seal is not good-even though the car has less then 100,000 miles on it, no reported accidents, and I was not informed by the dealer it has this problem when I purchased a few months ago.Read more

I purchased the vehicle with approximately 56,000 miles. Within 2–3 weeks after purchase a “traction battery fault” warning appeared. I took it to a dealership, which said it was a battery module fault. They replaced defective battery cell under warranty (repair value ~$7,000–8,000). During the same initial period and continuing after the battery repair, the vehicle exhibited intermittent
... AC charging failures. It would begin Level 2 charging sessions and then terminate them prematurely. This includes both the Level 2 charger I installed new at my home upon purchasing the car, and commercial Level 2 chargers. The home charger would repeatedly show a fault that the vehicle was ending the sessions. Over the following months, the condition progressively worsened from intermittent to near-total loss of AC charging capability. The vehicle can still DC fast charge. Dealer diagnosed the failure as a defective BCCM requiring replacement at a cost of approximately $6,700. This is a known and documented issue: Jaguar has issued TSB SSM75883 (NHTSA Document MC-10227452-0001) addressing I-PACE vehicles unable to charge with BCCM fault code U3000-49, and TSB SFCC Jul20_11 (NHTSA Document MC-10178140-0001) for the 2020 I-PACE specifically. The vehicle cannot be charged at home or at any AC charging station, rendering it effectively inoperable for normal daily use.Read more

Driving under normal conditions April 20,2026, on the way to school. Got off the freeway and the vehicle immediately shut-off and the check engine light came on. Vehicle was stuck partially in the roadway and would not move. Vehicle was towed to Kia dealership and they found that there was no oil in the engine and that the oil drain plug was completely missing. This problem caused catastrophic
... engine failure resulting in the need for a full engine replacement. A routine oil change had been conducted approx. 2,000 miles prior to this on January 12, 2026. The vehicle had been driven daily since that oil change with no noticeable oil leak or problems preceding this event. Had this event occurred at freeway speeds, it could have caused serious injury to the driver and other motorists on the roadway at that time. It appears that the drain plug fell out since there was no other additional or noticeable damage to the oil pan or surrounding the drain plug itself. This information was confirmed by a photograph taken by the dealership conducting the repairs.Read more
