Minimizer sells a piece of plastic that bolts to the top of semi truck 5th wheel and under trailers. Minimizer claims this plastic is designed for frequent drop and hook applications. The plastic can't handle the huge forces between semi truck and trailer and is easily pushed off the 5th wheel leaving only the bolts sticking up out of the top of the 5th wheel. When this happens there is no grease
... between the trailer and 5th wheel plate, only the bolts sticking up and out of the top of the 5th wheel. As you can imagine the bolts dig into the underside of the trailer making steering a problem on the snow covered roadway. Minimizer Document #10005364 says to "continue to follow 5th wheel manufacturer's lubrication and maintenance recommendations for the locking mechanism and king pin." which requires grease and greasy parts to be in very close proximity to the plastic. The plastic cannot handle the grease, fact is, In the same document the Warranty excludes damage caused by exposure to chemicals such as grease. The plastic pushed off the truck in less then one week, which created a mechanical emergency. The truck and driver can't do anymore work until the nuts and bolts are removed from the 5th wheel plate and the 5th wheel is properly re-greased. The plastic cannot handle trailer drop and hook or be touched by grease.Read more

Two 11r22.5 Tires were purchased 8/8/2022 from Gabe’s tire and towing llc in town creek, alabama. These tires are for my front steer axle. The problem is the installed two trailer tires for my steer tires. I’ve gone back several times and they want me to pay over $300 additional to go to a higher end tire even though they screwed up. This is the second set of tires now that this has happened w
... ith and they make me wait over a month to find out if I’m even going to get warranty money back since they make customer pay for a new tire then send the old one out to be inspected. Took truck to a different shop to be inspected because truck shakes violently and Gabe’s tires and towing llc would not correct the issue.Read more

related complaint tracking number: 11442614 The engine crankcase ventilation pours large volumes of exhaust gases and oil vapors into the engine bay of the truck. This is a design flaw. This continually fills the engine bay with exhaust gases and vapors. Th

I drive tractor trailer for JB Hunt. Over the last 4 Years, the three trucks I have been assigned to have had exhaust leaks that vented into the cab. One was a Freightliner (approx 2017 model), and two have been Internationals. These exhaust leaks caused me medical problems, requiring that I take off time unscheduled. The last three trucks I have been assigned to have had exhaust leaks into th
... e cab. Some leaks I only found with a thermal camera. The exhaust leaks are not the main problem. The problem is that design of these trucks cause any leaking engine gases to be pushed into the cab of the truck, mostly through the air conditioning/heater vents. I have tested this. I zip tied a can of orange air freshener under the hood. The can was positioned in such a way as to point away from the air intake box, toward the back of the engine. When driving at highway speed, the orange air freshener was very strong coming into the cab from the a/c vents. The truck is supposed to be getting the fresh air from outside the truck, and forward of where the air freshener was spraying. I originally thought the only problem was that the cabin air intake box is located under the hood, in immediate proximity to all of the leaks. This in itself is a poor design. Even with duct tape over the openings into the cabin air box, any gases (or air freshener) is immediately pulled into the cab through the a/c and heat. I have no idea how this occurs. The design of the trucks allows any leaking gases under the hood to come directly into the cab. This applies to Freightliners and Internationals. They have the same basic design, and by experience I can say that both perform the same way. The hoods on both truck makes are designed with dedicated pathways to provide pure outside air for the intake of the ENGINE. The air provided to the driver comes from an unsealed airbox located under the hood. The main problem is not the leaks but that they get vented into the driver's cabin. The engine crankcase ventilation pours large volumeRead more

WITHOUT ANY OTHER WAY HOME I ELECTED TO DRIVE IT HOME AND THEN TAKE IT TO INTERNATIONAL OF OCALA. AFTER I ARRIVED HOME I LOOKED OVER THE COACH DESIGN AND FOUND THAT IT HAD BEEN BUILT WITH CONSIDERABLY MORE WEIGHT ON THE LEFT THAN THE RIGHT. BOTH SLIDE OUTS, GENERATOR, FRESH WATER TANK, GRAY WATER AND BLACK WATER TANKS FAVOR THE LEFT SIDE. WHEN I CRAWLED UNDER THE COACH I WAS COMPLETELY HORRIFIED. THE FRAME HAD BEN ALTERED FROM THE FACTORY BY A THIRD PARTY. THE WHEELBASE WAS ALTERED BY CUTTING A SECTION OUT OF THE FRAME AHEAD OF THE REAR DRIVE AXLE AND THEN WELDING IT BACK TOGETHER DID NOT FOLLOW THE NAVISTAR INTERNATIONAL BODY BUILDERS HANDBOOK. THE WELDS ARE THE WORST LOOKING WELDS I HAVE EVER SEEN AND CRACKS ARE ALREADY FORMING.Read more
