My car has had numerous issue. The first issue was with the front end collision warning system. I had a sensor warning come on twice saying it may not be in use, but then it falsely predicted a collision resulting in the car slamming on the brakes when nothing was there. I almost go rear-ended as a result. The dealer found that the radar system was completely broken and the sensor was facing to th
... e side instead of the front. I bought the car brand new and there was no evidence of damage and it has never been explained how it got damaged. They replaced the system and that was resolved, but the sensors continue acting strange. It's now turning on the camera and telling me to check my surroundings when I'm stopped at a red light. There is nothing happening around me. The problem that is ongoing and has yet to be resolved is my brakes. It's an intermittent issue, but when I go over rough surfaces and hit the brakes I get a crunching/grinding noise that sounds like it's grinding rocks. This happens intermittently. The dealer was eventually able to replicate it and is saying it's the ABS system and that it's normal, but cannot do anything to repair it. However, it is not normal for ABS to come on going over a bump and it shouldn't sound like that. When this happens, the brakes don't seem to respond properly and as quickly as it should. I have not gotten any warning lights for the brake issue. It does put the parking brake on at times for no reason when I'm on a completely flat surface. The car was out of service for 21 days in a month and a half of owning it. I have a car that I don't feel safe in and I don't trust what it's going to do. It's problem after problem and corporate Hyundai doesn't want to do anything about it.Read more

Complaint Summary: The PCV valve (oil separator, part number 06Q103495F) has failed twice within 20,000 miles on my 2023 Volkswagen Atlas 2.0T. The first failure occurred around 50,000 miles and was repaired under warranty. The second failure happened around 70,000 miles, after warranty expiration. Description of Issue: In both cases, the failure was identified when the low engine oil warning lig
... ht appeared, followed by visible oil leakage across the top of the engine and the catch plate area. Upon inspection, oil was found covering surrounding components, and the dealer confirmed the PCV assembly had failed and was leaking internally and externally. The PCV system is integrated into the valve cover, and when it fails, it causes crankcase pressure loss, oil blow-by, and potential engine damage or fire risk if oil contacts hot components. This is not normal wear; it’s a known recurring failure on EA888 2.0T engines used across multiple VW models. Safety Concern: A leaking PCV valve can cause: •Excessive oil consumption •Oil spray onto engine components, posing a potential fire hazard •Unstable idle or stalling due to vacuum imbalance •Risk of engine damage if crankcase pressure rises The part has been revised multiple times by Volkswagen but continues to fail prematurely. The lack of a recall or warranty extension leaves owners paying for repeated replacements of a defective component. Request: I urge NHTSA to investigate widespread premature failures of the PCV/Oil Separator assembly (06Q103495F and superseding parts) on Volkswagen EA888 Gen 3 engines used in the Atlas, Tiguan, and other VW/Audi vehicles. This appears to be a design flaw rather than a normal maintenance issue and could lead to oil fires or mechanical damage if ignored.Read more

Dear NHTSA, I am submitting this complaint to report a recurring issue with oil consumption in my Hyundai vehicle, which I understand is a known problem affecting this particular engine type and model. I am the original owner and have been a loyal Hyundai customer for many years. I have followed all recommended maintenance, including regular oil changes. Despite this, my vehicle has developed ex
... cessive oil consumption that has not been resolved through standard service procedures. The dealership has contacted Hyundai for approval to perform a combustion chamber cleaning, but based on my research and feedback from other owners, this procedure does not effectively address the root cause of the issue. My concern is that this problem may be indicative of a broader mechanical defect that could impact engine performance and safety. My 10-year warranty is nearing expiration, and I am worried that delays in resolving this issue may result in the loss of warranty coverage for necessary repairs. I believe this issue warrants further investigation, as it appears to be affecting multiple vehicles with the same engine configuration. I respectfully request that NHTSA review this matter and consider whether a broader safety investigation is warranted. Thank you for your attention. ... The cost to fix that was around $600 which I could not afford, and my limited warranty expired. July/August 2025 my ABS and traction control sensor lights were lit on my dash. I took the car for service and my very reputable mechanic diagnosed with no codes showing up a few times. Performed a reset twice and the lights came back on after only driving a couple of miles. He contacted Ford who advised he couldn't sell the part because there was a "national hold" on the part. On 9/2 my brakes and traction control failed resulting me rear ending another vehicle. The other safety issue is that my airbags did not deploy upon the collision. I contacted Ford Corporation and was advised that Ford will not do anything since my vehicle was older than 10 years. The vehicle is a total loss leaving me with a loan balance of approximately $4,700.00. My 2015 Chrysler Ram EcoDiesel 4x4 has a major safety defect that nearly caused a catastrophic accident and has left me traumatized. While driving on Highway 101 in California, towing a horse trailer with live horses, the truck su

I was horrified and shaken, and I continue to suffer PTSD from the event. This is the second time the vehicle has broken down under dangerous circumstances.
