ABOUT 2 HOURS INTO MY TRIP I CHECKED THE VEHICLE INFORMATION AND DISCOVERED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE WAS NOT AT MANUFACTURES SPECIFICATIONS (35PSI). THE FRONT TWO TIRES WERE AT ABOUT 44PSI, THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE TIRE WAS AT 59PSI AND THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE WAS AT ABOUT 40PSI. I IMMEDIATELY C

I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THIS INCIDENT WAS A RESULT OF MANUFACTURE ISSUES, I DO HOWEVER BELIEVE THAT NEGLIGENCE ON BEHALF OF THE RENTAL CAR COMPANY IN MAINTAIN THE VEHICLE RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE HYDROPLANING. WHEN I RETIRED TO THE HERTZ LOCATION AT BUSH INTERCONTINENTAL, I SPOKE WITH ALEC, A MANAGER AT THE LOCATION, AND HE CONFIRMED THAT IT IS STANDARD PROTOCOL THAT TIRE PRESSURE IS CHECKED FOR ALL RETURNED VEHICLES. I WAS DRIVING HOME AND WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. I FELT A JERK FROM UNDER THE HOOD THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. MY CAR THEN BEGAN TO DRIVE VERY SLUGGISHLY AND STRUGGLED TO PICK UP SPEED. I MADE IT HOME A FEW BLOCKS AWAY AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE SHOP WHERE I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE CODES I RECEIVED WERE P1754, P1757, AND P1759. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY SAW SOMETHING ON MY LANE SO I TRY TO AVOID IT BY CHANGING LANE BUT MY WHEELS LOCKED AND POWER STEERING SIGN CAME ON SO I ENDED UP DRIVING OVER AN OBJECT. I FORCED MY WHEEL TO THE EMERGENCY LANE SAFELY AFTER VEHICLES ZOOMING BY ME ON BOTH LANES AND TO A COMPLETE STOP. SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF, EXITED THE VEHICLE TO SEE SCRATCHES ON MY BUMPER. SO I TAKE THE CAR TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT THAT THE CAR WAS ON RECALL ON JANUARY 18, 2018 AND I HAD LEASED THIS CAR ON MARCH 21,2018. THE DEALERSHIP THEN TOLD ME THEY CAN FIX THE POWER STEERING PROBLEM AND MY TIRES BUT THE SCRATCHES ON THE RIMS WAS MY FAULT AND I HAD TO PAY OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. REMIND YOU THIS VEHICLE WAS TITLED NEW WITH 14 MILES TO START OFF WITH WHEN I LEASED THE VEHICLE.
