Last Friday, 7/25/21, while driving home from work, my car instrument panel, speed odometer, everything went totally black, I lost steering and pulled into a 7-11 parking lot. The passenger side of the car was smoking. I was locked in as door unlock wouldn’t work, nothing would work. I was unable to turn the car off and literally felt like I could pass out from smoke inhalation quickly called 91

The fire department arrived and after a few minutes were able to get me out, but the car would not turn off. They forced the hood open and had to cut the cables to the battery to turn it off. It was terrifying!!! I can’t imagine what would have happened if I had been on the Turnpike or major Highway, I’m sure I would have crashed the vehicle. I had the car towed to Shamrock Automotive who advised that the PCF module Wiring harness had literally caught on fire. I cannot believe there has not been a recall. Took it to a dealership and they stated no recall and is costs 3-4 thousand dollars per sensor to fix. At that time I rear-ended the car in front about instantly, the cars were so close together. It happened so fast I thought maybe I had pushed both accelerator and brake with one foot, so I called it driver error and thought no more about it. This time there was plenty of time and no doubt about it, I applied the brakes many times and nothing worked until right at the top of their driveway. The current incident happened on May 16, 2021. I had taken the car (Infiniti QX70) to Nissan Reno on May 14 for oil change, filter, and brake fluid exchange, since Infiniti Reno was closed until further notice. The timing makes me wonder whether something happened during the fluid exchange. I haven't been back to Nissan Reno, not sure whether to trust them. This was reported to Ask Infiniti web site, and their suggestion was to take the car to nearest open Infiniti dealer in Roseville CA about 120 miles away. With questionable brakes? THIS PROBLEMATIC INFINITI QX60 HAD FAILED ONCE AGAIN WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. IT'S JUST DEAD AND THE ENGINE REFUSED TO START. I HAD TO CALL THE TOW TRUCK TO DROP OFF AT THE KINGS INFINITI AUTO SHOP FOR REPAIR. FIRST, IT WAS A HUGE INCONVENIENCE THAT THEY COULDN'T TAKE A LOOK AT THE VEHICLE UNTIL A WEEK LATER.
