I purchased this vehicle, 2012 Infiniti G 37XS in September 2023. The vehicle was basically brand new with less than 2200 miles on it and I have driven it very little up to that point, October 2024, as it is not my primary vehicle. Around [XXX], I believe it was around 8100 miles and change on the vehicle, a warning light came on my dash regarding my passenger airbag. Since that date, I have wo
... rked with Plaza Infiniti in Creve Coeur, who has looked at the vehicle a few times and identified that there is no part replacement other than OEM that can fix this issue. However, the part has been discontinued. Today, I reached out to Infiniti directly, and with a sad heart, they refuse to even listen to me. Now, I have a vehicle that has a safety issue and no way to fix it. The part number 87300–1NL6A, is the lower seat assembly for the passenger side of my 2012 Infiniti G 37XS. This part also has the occupant sensor which is directly affecting the airbag. The sensor is not replaceable separately of the lower seat assembly. UNKNOWN - On Sunday, June 1 2025, whilst driving West Bound on the 408 tollway in Orlando, FL, the sunroof of my car exploded and shattered. I was driving with the sunroof and sunshade closed. I was driving approx 70 miles an hour when I head an explosion, then heard glass spidering and then the glass bits falling on to the sunshade and also traveling down the roof of the car. I pulled over as q
... uickly as I could. Looked at the back of the car I wanted to make sure nothing else happened to my car. When I climbed to look on top of my car, the sunroof had shattered. I took a small video. I immediately exited the freeway, and took side streets home. The entire way, I could hear glass bits dislodging and either hitting the sunshade or traveling off the roof. On the 408, there were only two passenger cars in front of me (no big trucks) and a few cars right behind me. No rocks bounced off anything to hit the sunroof. Traffic on the East bound side was very light also. 1. Yes, car can be inspected. Garage kept since Sunday June 1.25. 2. Safety- if the sunshade would have been open, the sunroof would have shattered into the car, covering me with glass. 3. Appnt with dealer is Thur June 12.25 4. No- no one has seen the vehicle yet 5. No warning lights, just a huge explosion above my head.Read more

Multiple critical mechanical and safety issues have occurred with my 2018 Hyundai Sonata Sport. The vehicle has experienced persistent engine misfire, a severe oil leak, emissions system failure, and extensive paint deterioration. A certified technician confirmed an active oil pan leak with no dashboard warning lights, posing a fire and stalling hazard. To prevent further damage, I replaced the en
... tire oil pan and spark plugs at a personal cost of approximately $800 at Firestone Complete Auto Care. The check engine light revealed diagnostic code P0420 – Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1). An O’Reilly emissions scan confirmed the catalytic converter failure, and emissions status was marked “RED.” The vehicle will not pass an OBD-based emissions test. At 149,219 miles, Hyundai refused warranty coverage due to mileage. A certified Hyundai dealership quoted $3,722 to replace both the catalytic converter and valve cover gasket, which remains unaffordable and unrepaired. In addition, the factory-applied white paint began peeling severely from the hood and roof. Although Hyundai issued a warranty extension for this known defect, the dealership refused to repaint the hood, citing a minor dent — even though the peeling is clearly unrelated. The exposed metal has started to rust, risking structural deterioration. All concerns have been evaluated by certified Hyundai service and independent professionals. These combined mechanical, emissions, and exterior failures raise serious safety and durability concerns. I am filing this report to document manufacturer-related defects that may affect other owners of this model and year.Read more

Just over 1 week ago, I was leaving a parking lot and driving back to my home when my car wouldn't accelerate past about ~10-15 miles per hour and wasn't shifting gears. When I took my foot off the gas pedal, the gear just dropped immediately from above third to first gear and the car shook. I first noticed this when already out of the parking lot and pulling off from a median onto the road, with
... no engine light or other warnings. I quickly pulled into the turn lane where there wasn't traffic and turned the car off and back on. It was the same but luckily I was in eyes view of my apartment, so I drove under 10 mph and made it home. I took the vehicle to a transmission service center and the error code that came up on the computer was (P0500 - Vehicle Speed Sensor A), which the service center said is an issue with the "valve body" inside the transmission, specifically the "TCM - Transmission Control Module" that sits on top of the valve body. I contacted multiple Infiniti service centers and they all confirmed that the valve body for my vehicle (part# 31705-x133a) is back ordered by over a month and could be longer until they have it. They do not sell the Transmission Control Module separately. The valve body was quoted to me for $2200 for the part alone. I attempted to install an aftermarket valve body and a new error code came up on the computer (PO720 - Output Speed Sensor Circuit). I kept the original valve body and will hold onto it. Doing some more research, this appears to be a common issue with the Infiniti Q50 - [XXX] In addition to the reddit thread above, a quick google search for Infiniti Error codes P0500 and PO720 point to multiple sources indicating the same common experience and outcome. My vehicle has 110k miles and users in the reddit comments are also reporting the same issue with the TCM Transmission Control Module occurring between 85k - 100k miles in all cases. I have had multiple issues with this vehicle. After having it for a few months while on a road trip the car begin high pitched beeping and several warning lights displayed with messages stating Audi pre sense malfunction: contact customer service/ AES/AEB unavailable. After turning off the vehicle the lights remained illuminated and the warning lamps didn’t change, it also continued to beep but I had not choice but to continue on as we were far from home but it left me rattled and nervous of the safety of the vehicle. After the dealership advised us there was nothing wrong with the vehicle and they weren’t sure why the lights and malfunctions displayed. They turned off the lights and the car was fine for another few weeks until it suddenly slammed on the breaks while driving down the road for no reason at all, all the lights and malfunctions begin again as well as the beeping. Luckily there wasn’t a car behind us but we were quite afraid of this breaking issue happening leading to a car accident or worse. We took the car to the dealership again where they told us there “needed to be an update to the software” but it wouldn’t be out until sometime “hopefully” next year but couldn’t guarantee a date and informed us we just needed to bring the car in if it happened again. We questioned the safety and asked for a loaner vehicle due to our fear but were assured the car is safe however I’ve lost count of the number of times the lights have come back on and the car breaks unexpectedly. We’ve returned to the dealership each time and told the vehicle is ok but the warning lights and safety alerts are on again as of today however it no longer beeps.Read more

They also stated their service department was backed up 4-5 weeks due to transmission repairs. Over the last 2 weeks, we've had a full vehicle diagnostic and repair. The mechanic replaced both leaky transmission coolant lines and completely rebuilt the transmission. He confirmed the check engine light never activated and diagnostic trouble codes never generated. That is an extreme safety problem. According to Lincoln, with leaks and transmission slipping, DTCs should be generated, and check engine lights should come on, but it didn't happen in either case. I’m reporting a recurring safety issue with my Infiniti Q50 involving the brake, steering, and acceleration systems. While driving, I’ve experienced the brake pedal becoming unresponsive, the gas pedal not reacting, and the steering wheel locking or feeling stiff, making it extremely difficult to control the car. The most recent incident occurred today, [XXX]. I had to stop driving immediatel

However, since the issue didn’t replicate while there, the dealer said they could not determine the cause. The car is available for inspection if needed. The safety risk is severe: I could not stop or accelerate safely, and I struggled to steer — this put me and other drivers in danger of a serious accident. I have experienced this more than once. The dealership originally diagnosed worn brake pads, which I had replaced at an independent shop, but the problem continued afterward. I also showed the dealership photos of the warning symbol that appeared on my dash during both incidents. The car has been inspected by the Infiniti dealer and an independent mechanic, but no resolution has been found. No inspections have been done by police or insurance. Given the serious nature of this malfunction, I am requesting this be investigated as a possible safety defect. While driving on the freeway, the vehicle's driver assistance system suddenly became unavailable. Although the car was still able to move, the transmission would not shift gears. The engine RPMs rose unusually high — when applying pressure to the gas pedal, the RPMs could reach 4,000 to 5,000, but the vehicle accelerated very slowly. I could only maintain a speed of around 50–60 mph. It felt l
... ike the transmission was stuck in one gear and the power was not being properly delivered to the wheels. This limited acceleration and loss of responsiveness created a significant safety concern on the freeway. The following day, the check engine light turned on. I took the vehicle to AutoZone for a diagnostic scan, which returned multiple fault codes: P0840 (Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch A Circuit), P0715 (Input/Turbine Speed Sensor A), and P0746 (Pressure Control Solenoid A Performance or Stuck Off). After researching the issue, I found that many other Infiniti JX35 owners have reported similar failures involving the CVT transmission. This appears to be a recurring defect that significantly affects drivability and safety. The repair estimate I received is over $4,000, and the vehicle remains in a compromised condition. I am reporting this as a safety concern involving powertrain failure, elevated engine stress, and loss of acceleration control.Read more
