Cluster seal failed causing moisture to build up under the glass. Escalated to the point where the cluster does not illuminate at all. I can not see my speed, miles, gear, or even how much gas I have which is a huge safety concern for being able to ride in the road with other people. While driving the car looses all dashboard lights, brake lights, blinkers. The motor stays running and it has a check starter system message. Has done it several times in the 2 weeks we have owned it. Seems to only occur when it is hot outside. The shifter nob will not turn on and move out of park. When I open the glove box and tap on the CAN-C Bus star connector the nob will then turn on. Other issues also with electrical throughout van dealing with the CAN-C such as driving and then it shifts very hard. And door not closing on the side.

I was driving on the highway in stop-and-go traffic when suddenly I found myself depressing the brake pedal to the floor and the car would not stop. They have not been able to identify the cause of the issue, but have also been unwilling to put the tests they have done in writing for me at this point. At this point, I have little confidence in my vehicle, despite it being a 2022 with low miles. I am terrified that this intermittent issue could happen again. ... lt of a defective and failed drive unit, here in San Ramon , CA. NO WARNING. We forced the car to lunge and hop over to the median with traffic stopping, building up, honking, braking....truly a miracle no one got hurt. I later saw both front and back wheels turning in OPPOSITE directions, simultaneously, as the tow truck driver was pulling the car on his flat bed. The tow truck driver said he has never seen anything like this! The defective drive unit has been a known issue which they corrected in 2020. A Master Tesla mechanic states that this is not about IF the failure was to take place, but WHEN it was going to take place. Tesla refuses to own up to the problem despite emailing their Head, Tom Zhu. I came across this conversation on Reddit and it appears that a comment made by the Tesla mechanic below is relevant. They could have prevented this by recalling the cars and changing the coolant seal. Here is his quote: "Every single large Tesla Drive unit will fail unless it's a recent revision U replacement (~2022 or newer) or has been retrofitted by a 3rd party. This applies to all RWD Model S made between 2012 and 2020, and all Performance S/X made until 2020. The coolant seal will fail and destroy the motor. This is not an if, but a when. If you have a car with one of these motors, there are a variety of 3rd party shops who can fix this issue forever for a lot less money than a fully dead motor. The MMI component randomly stops working. Over the past four years of driving this Audi the MMI would suddenly reboot itself only once or twice a year. Now for the past three months it tries to reboot itself once or twice a day! It's quite startling for the music to go silent and the screen goes black, the first few times this happened I thought the engine died too (that's scary). It even happens
... when I'm backing out of my garage, luckily there is never anybody behind me but what if I'm in the mall parking lot. When the MMI reboots itself about half of the time it is similar to a conventional starting procedure, which isn't to bad but just annoying. Other times it wants you to log on as a "guest driver" or "registered driver hasn't been in the vehicle" or it even wants you to punch in a pin number on the key pad which I don't know. All this requires your concentration on the MMI and not on the road. I wish some one could inspect this and confirm my problems before I brought it to the dealer. If I brought my car to the dealer they would charge me for diagnostics and then say they "there is nothing wrong" or worse try to upsell me a whole new unit for mega dollars. I only drive about ten to fifteen miles a day so my time on the road is minimal but it only takes a moment of distraction to have an accident. While there haven't been any warning lamps or messages about the MMI problem there was another symptom to this problem. The control button on the center console and the thumb scroll wheel on the steering wheel had a very distinct delayed reaction. The volume would change 2-3 seconds after I used the knobs and even turn off 2-3 seconds after I hit the button on the console. I think this symptom started to occur before the MMI reboots. One more quirk, after the MMI reboots, the music from my USB drive will start to play not from when the MMI cut out but from when I started the car that morning. It starts to repeat the same songs. There are also 4runners on dealership lots that have significant rust, holes, and cracks in the frames that the dealership does not warn about, rather, they still have high for-sale values because the vehicle looks good otherwise.Read more

In July 2022, the VANOS bolts in my 2011 BMW X3 xDrive28i failed, causing major internal engine damage. This is the exact defect later identified under BMW Recall 23V-707. The bolts sheared off while driving, disabling the vehicle. I paid $5,000 out of pocket for full repairs using OEM parts at Masny Motorwerks (BMW specialist in Rochester, NY). I followed BMW’s reimbursement process: I visited BMW of Rochester in person on January 28, 2025 and submitted my invoice to the service advisor. I followed up by phone twice — no response. I submitted a full reimbursement claim to BMW North America on March 31, 2025 with all documentation. BMW replied on April 8 with a boilerplate response redirecting me back to the same dealership. I then followed up again with full documentation. BMW replied again, refusing to take responsibility and offering no support. I currently have 5K miles on the bike. All 5K miles I have had stalling issues. These issues mostly happen when lightly feathering the throttle while pulling out. This issue is not in my clutch work. It seems to be in the throttle sensor. The bike has began to randomly shut down on my while riding. This is always random and cannot be reproduced at will. This is not quite the case when pulling out, the issue presents with a slight throttle and the clutch just starting to friction, if you attempt to throttle the bike dies. The throttle sensor is not correct. Furthermore it seems after the bike has warmed up… like 10 miles and I stop at the store in the mornings, the next start seems to like rock the engine up during startup. This causes a terrible abrupt stop to the engine start and causes the ride command to reboot. This has happened riding furring downshifting at a light where the engine shut off and caused the ride command to reboot, had to coast to the side of the road and wait 20 seconds to get the fuel pump back before it would fire back up. This stalling on the highway has happened 3 times now and without any warning. This is going to get me into an accident. So, the engine stall happened this morning and it actually got the first time threw a check engine light. The absolute first code I have ever been able to see 3464-3 (throttle actuator fault) this solidifies my throttle suspicions all along, as everything has always pointed to the throttle sensor. If Indian does not fix this (there are a ton of people complaining about this same issue on their 2025’s) they are going to hurt or kill someone. This is a safety issue that needs addressed immediately! I will be taking my bike in for it’s 5K service on Saturday and will report it again, but just like the other 10 times I will be dismissed. I have video of the unit stalling immediately after startup. Two dealers claim to have inspected and looked over unit but have failed to find the issue. I've received a round about explanation that they are acutely aware of this issue but they don't know what's causing it or how to fix. The unit had other erroneous electrical issues that seemed to have been mostly rectified through software updates. There is a current recall for the '22 chief darkhorse regarding a fuel pump issue that may cause stalling under numerous conditions. ... n hybrid mode, and cluster was at <1%. I had barely stopped, I don’t think the ICE shut down. I tried to accelerate to clear the intersection and I had 0 power. Car would barely move and slowly rolled in the intersection. Engine was running but not responding to the accelerator with RPM increase, just like when you try to rev at idle. No response to half or full throttle. I just slowly rolled in the intersection (scary situation, luckily no heavy traffic) I turned my hazard lights on and tried again to accelerate, 0 response, no MIL light, still gas in car. I tried to change drive mode to electric, message “unavailable, battery depleted” (no surprise there), tried e-save no response to throttle either. Last resort I put tranny in park and re-cycled start/stop. HV battery had enough power to start engine and responded to throttle and I was back driving. Did another 10-15 miles yesterday, no wild issues (sometimes it feels a little jerky, but that could be just me now). I did some heavy accelerations. Power meter went to 100, re-charged on coasting and did that for 4 or 5 repetitions. No warning lights ever. Checked my SOH last night and it had dropped to 80.8%. I decided to charge on L1 outside. Didnt have full SOC this morning, just 75% on dash. Drove normal this moaning, stayed in electric mist of the time. My 75% was completely depleted after maybe 10 miles driving. All seems typical for a poor SOH HV battery, except the loss of power and 0 response to throttle. Very scary and potentially dangerous.Read more

... ontrol switch on the left handlebar switch pod. The audio volume would randomly increase volume, any attempting to trigger the volume switch in the opposite direction would serve no results to include mute/pause. Upon initial inspection, manipulation of that switch harness near the handlebar clamp on the triple-tree would result in similar affects or correct the difficiency. After researching, indian previously released a dealer communication that specified the proper mounting of the handlebar harnesses due to knowing well there was a conductor breakage issue. While I have not corrected the issue, it is extremely distracting to have the powerband audio increase to max volume while in motion. The only means to correct the problem is to pull over and manipulate the infotainment screen or mobile device. This not an isolated issue, other owners have reported similar issues to including other necessary functions such as turn signals and power switches, occasionally rendering the vehicle stranded and unable to start. The latter is a safety/distraction issue that need to be addressed.Read more

The sensor on the EGR cooler failed. I have had my EGR cooler replaced two times. The most recent time was in September of 2024. In December of 2024, the engine light came on and the warning messages showed in the Fordpass app stating there was an issue with the exhaust system. After the dealership reviewed it, they had to replace the EGR sensor.

Ford said the APIM failed testing and recommended to replace the APIM to gain access to the screen. It would only cost about $1100. This is a safety issue because the sensors will not work.

The component that failed are the visibility with headlights being completely snow packed and covered in a snow storm. The lights themselves did not fail, but the design causes snow to get stuck over all the headlights, which continues building to a point where 99%+ of light blocked. Have to pull over multiple times driving in snow storms to break the snow and ice free from the headlights, only to build up again once driving. This puts not only our lives, but other drivers lives at risk. Just imagine driving in winter conditions, at night, with no headlights. Mentioned to dealer, but not documented anywhere and was not given any serious consideration. At that point we were focused on trying to get the power loss/hesitation and extremely rough shifting fixed. Big design flaw with the combination of headlights built into the grill, and with new technology, the lights must not get hot enough to melt the snow. Anyone who thinks that driving in a snow storm, at night, and no headlights isn't a huge safety issue or that this is exaggerated, I invite you to come take a ride with us this winter.Read more

On May 5, 2024 three passengers were locked in the rear seat of the vehicle. The door lock button in the car would not unlock the rear passenger doors, nor would the remote, nor would trying to open the door with the handle. While operating the motorcycle, it will randomly go into limp mode no matter what speed you’re at the motorcycle will rapidly decelerate extremely quickly and without warning. On April 13th, 2024 our son was driving the family 2018 Honda Odyssey (Approx 83,000 miles) in a nearby city. A good samaritan stopped and assuming that the battery was the problem, tried to help jump-start the vehicle -- but they were unable to start the car. Our son called us, and I drove 20 or so miles to his location. After trying a jump box in the vehicle, we called AAA. After trying a jump start and a new battery, At this point the technician said that the vehicle would need to be towed. The transmission of the minivan appeared to be locked and the towing company was not able to find a means to unlock the transmission. As a result, the front tires were placed on skids, which allowed the minivan to be drawn up onto the bed of the tow vehicle and towed the vehicle 20 miles to the local dealer, which had originally sold us the vehicle and had completed all recent maintenance. On Monday, the Honda service technician assessed it. We were advised that the 2018 Odyssey would require a new engine. After involving American Honda, we learned that the transmission was also affected, and the car would need to have $28,000 of repairs. After a month of discussions with American Honda, they closed our case without a teardown to identify root cause of the event. Our son could easily have been killed by being in a vehicle that could not be controlled while it was moving down the street. He used the only means available to him to stop the vehicle – the emergency parking brake. American Honda has told us that we must pay the $1600 to tear the engine apart to learn the cause.
