Nearly a complete loss of braking downhill. I am very familiar with the stretch of road I was traveling and have traveled it in other vehicles without issue. When I did need to use my brakes I noticed they were not working as they should, I had to basically stand in the brake petal and the truck shook barely slowing. I eased off the brakes and applied pressure again with the truck still shaking a
... nd barely slowing again. I was finally able to downshift and slow down enough to stop the vehicle and pulled off the side of the road allowing the brakes and rotors a chance to cool down. Had I not been able to stop the vehicle, it would have gone off the side of the mountain likely resulting in death. I did take the vehicle to the local Toyota service center complaining of loss of brakes and they returned with everything is within specs. I have not had another issue like that yet but I do still experience a brake squealing when braking especially in reverse. There were no prior issues and didn’t notice any warning lamps. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request.Read more

My vehicle experienced a sudden and immediate loss of motive power due to a catastrophic internal engine failure, creating a severe road safety hazard. While driving and attempting to accelerate or merge, the vehicle exhibits extreme hesitation, severe misfiring on cylinder #2, and rough, unstable idling. This unexpected loss of drive power made the vehicle unpredictable and unsafe to operate und
... er normal driving conditions, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. The vehicle is currently at the Hyundai dealership (Fox Ann Arbor Hyundai) for diagnosis. The dealer has confirmed and documented the following internal mechanical defects at only 86,000 miles: Compression loss in cylinder #2. Cylinder wall scoring and pitting. Evidence of blow-by and heavy carbon buildup in the combustion chamber. Misfire and rough idle. Oil consumption as a result of the cylinder failure. This failure is a premature mechanical defect, not normal wear. Failures of this nature (sudden loss of motive power due to internal engine defect) have been cited by NHTSA in other recalls and are known to increase the risk of a crash or fire. The manufacturer has acknowledged the defect by offering only 50% goodwill toward a repair, but this defect remains a critical, unresolved safety hazard that requires a full, safe engine replacement."Read more

Description of the Problem: I own a 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Limited with approximately 3 months of use. While driving on highway, the vehicle suddenly stalled displaying “Hybrid System Failure-Stop by side”. I had to stop on shoulder and restart, drove it couple of days and it happened again. Engine would not start, leaving the vehicle stuck in EV mode only with no ability to accelerate p
... roperly, Vehicle wouldnt go beyond 35mph. The vehicle then stalled and became unsafe to operate on a public road. After restarting, the vehicle displayed a Check Engine Light. Tookk it to the dealer and the dealer reported DTC P1122000, but did not provide clear evidence of an internal system fault. The dealer claimed the event was caused by “20% ethanol in the fuel,” which is inconsistent with U.S. pump labeling laws. When I checked my credit card entries around the time for refuel, all of them are reputed gas stations with nothing lower than "87" gas which is in alignment with car manufacturer's recommendation. This sudden stall created a serious safety hazard, and I am concerned this may be a broader issue with the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid drivetrain, fuel system sensors, or hybrid control module. I am requesting NHTSA to look into whether similar complaints exist, as this failure mode can result in loss of propulsion at speed, putting occupants at risk.Read more

I got my engine replaced during the summer of 2024 since the oil drive belt failed in my engine. This was due to the recall. I took my car to Baumann Ford in Genoa. I got my car back in August of 2024 after this occurred in June of 2024. I went 2.5 months without my car. Once I got it back the check engine light has come on several times for various issues pertaining to the engine. In the la
... st couple of months, my car has stalled twice and it has been refusing to start. I took my car to Tuffy's in Perrysburg to get inspected and they said my starter was going out, my transmission is going out and is leaking fluid, and my coolant is leaking too. All of these components were part of the engine that was put into my vehicle in August of 2024. Another issue is that the gas valve that detects vapors causes my check engine light to come on as well. I do not feel that this vehicle is safe to drive. I was told that the recall was to be fixed by the end of the first quarter of 2025. It is now the last quarter of the year and I just was called to get the recall fixed. The first dealership (Baumann Genoa) said they had no time to fix the issue even though they called me to get me scheduled. This has been over a year of stress with this vehicle and I do not feel like this is safe to be on the road. Ford has taken their time fixing this issue and I do not feel like they have taken this recall seriously when it comes to their consumer safety.Read more

While driving 70mph on the interstate, the truck randomly shut off. I lost power steering. Luckily I was going straight and there were no curves in the road, and I managed to pull the truck and trailer to the side of the road. All electrical assist, steering and brakes turned completely off, radio turned off, all electrical power was off. The engine shut off as well. As I was pulling over, th

It ran fine the rest of the way home, approximately 30 miles. I have not drove the truck since. This has happened 3 times, once parked idling after I pressed the door unlock button and the other time in the middle of an intersection. I took the truck to the dealership, paid for the inspection fee, but they could not recreate or find any wiring problems. It did throw a code when it happened, U0121 (Lost communication with ABS module). The dealer said they had to recreate it to diagnosis. I am fearful if I continue to drive the truck to pull my trailer, this could happen again while I am in a turn and I will not be able to continue to turn or stop the vehicle without electrical assist. The power system failure warning came on as I was driving up on an intersection. WhenI released the accelerator because I was in i-pedal mode (one pedal driving), the cars braking system did not activate. Consequently, I ran the red light. The car power was reduced, and I was able to pull into the parking lot of a strip mall as a police vehicle pulled behind me. After explaining our situation and
... receiving my traffic ticket, the officer asked me to move the car out of the driveway, but I was unable to shift the car into drive given the power warnings that were flashing on the display. The officer asked if I needed a tow and I let him know I would use the brand’s Roadside Assistance for my vehicle. I turned the car off and the officer left. I waited about 10 minutes and I tried turning on the car again and was able to shift into drive and get out of the driveway and into a parking space. However, the car operated in low power mode and could only travel about 3 miles an hour. The tow truck driver had to jump the 12 V battery which was completely depleted in order to turn on the vehicle to move it. At Hyundai Service center, the car turned off abruptly as he was trying to move it into a parking spot. Despite supposedly having been addressed in a recall, the failure of the vehicle’s power system due to the ICCU put me in my family at risk while actively driving on a road with traffic.Read more

I recently purchased a new Tesla Model Y in July 2025 . The vehicle has a loud clunking/creaking noise coming from the front suspension at low speeds, especially when driving over small bumps, turning into driveways, or when the road surface is uneven. The noise is noticeable inside the cabin and feels like a mechanical component is shifting. I brought the vehicle to Tesla Service twice the first
... time they could not replicate the sound, the second time they noticed it right away and replaced the front right and left dampers which did nothing at all, I think the noise is much worse after they did this. Then they said the noise is normal characteristic for this vehicle, I am sorry they should not be saying this in normal, especially for a brand new car. I am concerned that this may be related to a suspension component failure or premature wear that could impact steering stability or control over time. Since this affects a brand-new vehicle and others have reported similar symptoms online, I believe this should be monitored as a potential safety defect. I am requesting that NHTSA track this issue to ensure Tesla provides a recall and make the proper corrections and repair campaign as it is necessary.Read more

Vehicle Cannot Be Safely Driven – Structural / Suspension Defect Suspected – Dealer Claims “Repair Completed” Despite Unequal Wheelbase My vehicle is currently unsafe to operate, due to the following critical issues: ⸻ 1. Left–right wheelbase inconsistency The front and rear wheelbase measurements are not equal side-to-side. This is a strong indicator of structural deviation, such
... as: •Subframe misalignment •Control arm mounting point displacement •Deformed suspension components •Manufacturing or assembly error in chassis geometry ⸻ 2. Front caster angles remain abnormal •Left caster: 3.9° •Right caster: 4.9° •Cross-caster difference: 1.0° A 1° difference exceeds manufacturer tolerances and causes: •Vehicle drifting •Poor straight-line stability •Uneven steering return •Potential instability during emergency braking This is a safety-related steering geometry defect. ⸻ 3. Real-world driving confirms unsafe behavior The vehicle cannot maintain straight-line travel, the steering wheel is off-center, and the car exhibits instability at normal speeds. This makes the vehicle unsafe to drive. ⸻ 4. Despite these unresolved issues, the dealership insists the vehicle is “repaired” and demands that I pick it up. They refused to provide frame measurement reports or explanation for the unequal wheelbase. Returning a vehicle with unresolved steering and chassis geometry defects constitutes unsafe vehicle delivery. ⸻ Conclusion Based on unequal wheelbase, abnormal caster geometry, and inability to drive safely, this vehicle likely contains a structural or assembly defect. I formally request investigation, suspension geometry verification, and required action from the manufacturer, as this is a matter of public road safety.Read more

I believe my vehicle has a serious safety defect related to the engine cooling system that creates a fire and safety hazard. Specifically, coolant appears to leak from the cooling-elbow near the turbocharger, following a belt failure that lead to engine overheating and elbow pipe burst leading to coolant leaking on to the turbo heatshield or exhaust components. There was serious smoking when the
... issue happened and i shutdown on the highway as an emergency which most likely would have lead to an engine-bay fire or complete vehicle fire.. This failure mode and fire risk concern mirrors the defect described in NHTSA Recall 23V-221 (Loose or damaged coolant elbow leading to coolant leak on turbo/heatshield, risk of fire) for different JLR vehicles but ignores the F-pace model which I believe faces similar concern. The issue occurred on 9/2/2025 at approximately 9.30 AM while driving from US23 ramp to M-14, the engine suddenly reported charging system fault (but actually the serpentine belt had failed), then in a couple of minutes the engine started overheating and i pulled over for emergency. The coolant started spraying over engine bay from two locations and suddenly observed smoke from engine bay. After getting my car towed back to a workshop, I removed a heat shield and took photos, which clearly show coolant residue near the coolant outlet / elbow hose connection above the turbo. The leak appears to originate at the junction of the coolant elbow — matching the failure mode described in the 23V-221 recall documents. I have not (yet) received any recall notice that covers my vehicle for this issue (checked via NHTSA recall search tool on safercar.gov). Because the leak is directly above the turbo / exhaust manifold heatshield, there is a significant risk of fire, especially once the engine warms up and turbo area gets hot. A fire in the engine bay can quickly spread, endangering vehicle occupants and other road users.Read more
