Hi there, I purchased this car used with approximately 78,000 miles on it and this incident occurred at 94,000 miles. The car is equipped with a system call ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement) system. The system sends hydraulic fluids to each cornering of the car to help stabilize it around corners. Land Rover installed steel hard lines to deliver the fluids to each corner. They also tucked the
... lines to the side of the car and added a cover to protect the lines. However, that only caused these lines to fail, because moisture containing salt in the winters can travel to these lines and causes them to rust and no matter how much under carriage wash is performed, no clean water can get to them to wash away the salt. My lines failed on me and that cost me $4,400 in repairs at Lake Bluff Land Rover in the state of Illinois. They informed me there's more lines that need to be replaced which will cost an additional $5,500 in repair. When I complained to Land Rover that they should have installed stainless steel lines instead of steel to prevent this from happening, they assured me if this will become a common issue, they would perform a recall and issue a refund. When I spoke to the technicians at the Land Rover dealership, they told me they are getting a lot of cars with the same issue. I do not have the resources to investigate this issue nor the authority, but NHTSA does. Would you please look into this matter? It's a big safety concern and it's a huge mistake on Land Rover which they are avoiding to taking responsibility for. Thank you. Vehicle has a known Ford 2.0L EcoBoost coolant intrusion / head gasket defect per multiple complaints on different forums on recently googled searches. At approximately 126,000 miles, vehicle began losing coolant with no visible external leaks, producing white smoke on startup, rough idle/misfires, and check engine light. Vehicle also began overheating intermittently. Heating system stopped wor
... king, indicating coolant flow failure. Symptoms are consistent with internal coolant intrusion into cylinders due to head gasket failure, a widely reported defect in Ford EcoBoost engines. Issue presents a safety risk due to potential engine failure while driving, loss of power, and overheating. Vehicle requires major engine repair or replacement. This failure occurred despite regular maintenance and appears to be a premature engine defect, not wear and tear. I was recently at the dealership on December 8th with no other issues detected after they replaced a part on my car that failed that I had to pay for ( a P175B-00 ). This had nothing to do with what is going on currently, they ran tests at this dealership and did not detect anything as of December 8th. This was at a ford dealership. Tests were ran and inspected by manufacturer. Fast forward to a week ago I started having the above symptoms and this was diagnosed by family-friend auto mechanic. I have had multiple issues with this car. The transmission blew at 50 thousand miles, the sun roof leaked ( the seal for the sunroof was defective) into my prnd control shifter causing thousands of dollars in damage, a P175B-00, causing my car to not be able to park, causing chaos for weeks. I have only owned this car since December 2020. I still owe 7 thousand on this vehicle and I am at a complete loss. I really just want ford to take accountability for this make and model as it never fits the guidelines for recalls on anything. I want justice for myself and others with these multiple issues coming from ford cars.Read more

This 2022 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid poses an imminent fire and safety hazard due to catastrophic high-voltage system failures. On December 11, 2025 (Mileage: 54,527), the vehicle displayed a "Check Hybrid System" warning. The dealership diagnosed a swollen 12V battery and, critically, a melted power relay assembly and melted power cable. This indicates extreme thermal overload. The dealer stated they

On March 23, 2024 (Mileage: 34,276), the vehicle suffered a total electrical blackout while driving at highway speeds at night. The vehicle lost all motive power, interior lights, and hazard flashers, leaving the car invisible in a high-speed lane. The high-voltage battery was replaced in April 2024, yet the system has failed again with melted wiring less than 20 months later. Despite a previous recall performed in August 2024 (Campaign 9B4 - BMS Software Update for 12V Battery Over Voltage), the electrical system remains unstable. The vehicle currently exhibits signs of thermal runaway. I have been informed by the dealer on Dec 16, 2025, that the wiring has melted, yet they initially refused to provide a repair order documenting these specific findings. I am submitting this complaint regarding Toyota’s decision to exclude hybrid vehicles from an active safety recall affecting non-hybrid Toyota Tundra models equipped with the same twin-turbo V6 engine architecture. Toyota has stated that hybrid vehicles are excluded because they retain motive power through the electric drive system in the event of an internal combustion engine failure. This rat
... ionale does not address real-world safety risk and does not reflect the mechanical realities of towing or highway operation. The hybrid version of the Toyota Tundra uses the same base V35A-derived engine architecture, block casting, bearing design, and oiling system as the recalled non-hybrid vehicles. Toyota has not demonstrated that hybrid engines were manufactured differently or are immune to the defect that prompted the recall. In towing conditions, an internal combustion engine failure creates an immediate safety hazard even if limited electric propulsion remains available. Electric-only operation provides severely reduced power, limited speed, and restricted torque, making highway merging, grade climbing, or maintaining safe traffic flow unsafe while towing. Retaining minimal electric motion does not equate to maintaining safe propulsion under load. Additionally, a catastrophic engine failure may introduce metal debris, oil pressure loss, or thermal imbalance that can compromise shared drivetrain and hybrid coupling components. The presence of an electric motor does not mitigate the underlying defect risk or the secondary damage potential. Toyota’s distinction between hybrid and non-hybrid vehicles appears to be regulatory and financial rather than engineering-based. The same defect risk exists regardless of the hybrid system. I request that NHTSA evaluate whether Toyota’s exclusion of hybrid vehicles is based on actual engineering differences or solely on regulatory interpretation.Read more

There have been several times that I have been driving and either turning onto a 4-lane road (2 lanes going each way) or driving on the parkway, where my car has slammed on the brakes by itself. Not only was I not prepared for this to happen, but neither were the cars behind me. I tend to drive with at least 1.5 car-length space between myself and the car in front of me. Last week, I was making a
... right hand turn (going north) into the right lane from a residential street. The only other car near me was the one driving in the left lane (also going north). My car drove about 100 ft and maybe realized that there was a car next to me and just slammed on the brakes. I was suddenly thrown forward. My seat belt locked and I was thrown back into my seat. I had a bruise from my seat belt and came too close to slamming my head on my steering wheel. Thankfully, the car behind wasn't tailgating. About a month ago, I was driving on the parkway going east. I was originally in the right lane. I put on my blinker and when it was clear, I changed lanes to the middle lane. After I was clear and my blinker was off, my car started screaming to tell me that there was a car in my driver's blind spot (this happens EVERY time I switch lanes). I drove for maybe 1.5 - 2 miles and then suddenly, my car slammed on the brakes. Someone must be watching over me because the Escalade behind me (definitely tailgating) was somehow able to swerve into the left lane and then swerve around me to cut me off in revenge. They were screaming and honking at me, while I was screaming and yelling at my car. They could have easily have plowed into me (we were driving at least 60mph) and could have caused a horrible accident that could have killed myself or others around me. I have notified Hyundai of this issue and have read many similar complaints online. Hyundai claims they cannot "replicate the situation" and therefore, Hyundai Corp is unable to fix the problem.Read more

This is a know issue with 2014-2016 Ram 1500s. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. Following lights are on dashboard: Brake, Traction Control, ABS. OBD Code C2200 for internal module failure. Lights were first intermittent in the Summer of 2024. Came on permanently in early 2025. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION There is a design flaw in the ABS Module for these vehicles that causes them to malfunction. This issue affects thousands of Ram vehicles. The chip in the module that is defective is no longer being produced, and Stellantis is unable to provide replacement ABS modules at the rate they are needed. Thousands of these trucks are driving around with no ABS, T/C, etc or are sitting in shops waiting for a new module, as they will not pass state safety inspections. Incident date: Nov 1, 2024
The failure involves the powertrain, specifically the 10-speed automatic transmission and its internal Transmission Control Valve (TCV) located within the valve body. The transmission has failed, and a GM dealership determined that the entire transmission requires replacement. The vehicle is currently inoperable, and the transmission is available for inspection upon request. My safety was put at
... risk due to abnormal transmission behavior. GM issued a recall for this vehicle related to excessive wear of the Transmission Control Valve, which can cause abnormal downshifting and, in some cases, wheel lock-up during downshifts. Sudden or unintended downshifting at speed presents a serious safety risk to the driver and others on the road. The failure has been confirmed by an authorized GM dealership, which diagnosed the transmission failure and stated that a full replacement is required. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership, and the recall remedy was performed in July 2025. The recall consisted of a software update to monitor excessive TCV wear, not a mechanical repair. Prior to the complete failure, there were repeated warning signs, including check engine warning lights. The vehicle was brought to the dealership multiple times in March and April 2025 for check engine warnings. After the recall software was installed in July 2025, the vehicle was serviced again in September 2025 with no issues noted at that time. The check engine light returned in November 2025, and on November 11, 2025, the transmission failed completely, rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive. Despite proper maintenance and multiple service visits addressing warning indicators, the transmission failed prematurely at approximately 74,000 miles. Given the known recall related to excessive TCV wear and the nature of the failure, this appears to be a defect-related powertrain failure rather than normal wear and tear.Read more

I am writing to formally report the premature failure and subsequent replacement of the electronic rack and pinion on my 2016 Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic sedan. This repair was performed at Sears Imported Autos on 4/19/2024, at a cost of $5,840.14. Invoice number at Sears Imported Autos is XXX. My vehicle, VIN [XXX] , had only 74,427 miles at the time of the failure. The failure of a critical ste
... ering component at such a low mileage is highly unusual and, I believe, directly attributable to a latent manufacturing defect. I have recently become aware of a prior recall (NHTSA Campaign Number 18V850000) concerning the electronic power steering rack on these EXACT vehicles. While I acknowledge that my vehicle VIN was not included in the official scope of the previous NHTSA recall, the nature and timing of my component's failure strongly mirror the documented issues of MY power steering failure. Mercedes-Benz USA Customer Care Center just informed me that my VIN does NOT qualify for the recall, but they did NOT say the failure on my car was a different part. The fact that the very same exact part failed so prematurely, a component that is expected to last for the lifetime of the vehicle under normal conditions, points to a systemic quality control issue beyond the scope of the original recall. The recall should be expanded to include my VIN and likely a few others. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

... her radar-based driver assistance systems are disabled. This issue creates a significant safety risk because the driver is not alerted to potential forward collisions and cannot rely on active safety systems. The blank infotainment screen also prevents access to vehicle settings, warnings, and camera functions. In South Korea, this same defect has resulted in an official recall and free front radar replacement and calibration. However, in the United States, customers are not covered under a recall and are required to pay out of pocket for radar realignment or replacement, even though the issue is identical and a lot of time the issue came back 3 months later and customer have to pay out of pocket once again to fix the same issue. Many owners report receiving official recall notices in other markets, while U.S. owners must independently diagnose the issue. Dealers often state that the problem may be caused by radar misalignment after a software update or system fault. In some cases, cleaning or recalibration temporarily resolves the issue, but in other cases, full radar replacement is required. This inconsistent treatment places U.S. consumers at a financial disadvantage and allows a known safety defect to remain unresolved. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this defect and require the manufacturer to issue a U.S. recall with free repair, calibration, or replacement, consistent with actions already taken in other countries.Read more

Received five warning lights at idle. Adaptive cruise control problem, Lane keeping assist problem, collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, auto high beam problem. None of these safety features work in my vehicle. I have taken this to the dealership to troubleshoot the issue and they confirm that the issue is there and said that it was the multi-purpose camer
... a on the rear view mirror. This will end up costing around $2,000 to repair. Without these safety systems, my family Is obviously not as safe... As a consumer we pay extra for all the engineering and the physical components to have these safety features. Otherwise, I could have saved $20,000 and bought a 2000s model suburban that doesn't have these safety features.Read more
