There were no warnings, lights, or sounds from the multi function display or any system emergency braking applied immediately before the collision.Just a violent surge forward that I could not quickly apply the brakes to avoid this collision. It is my feeling something electronic failed to operate or was unable to understand the driving environment at the time of impact. The change in driving mode from electric to gasoline was very abrupt and instantly resulted in the surge forward with no concern for what was a potential collision hazard ahead. Severe damage was done to front end only. Resulting in a very high repair cost and may likely result in the vehicle being considered a "total loss". I asked the dealer for information about the L87 6.2L engine rod bearing failure recall. I was told that they wouldnt perform the work until i recieved a letter from GM. This was when i got my first oil change. Then every oil change after that i asked the same question. At 43401 miles i parked the vehicle and havent driven it since. I am afraid to have something happen to me or my family. I paid $
... 82,000.00 for a vehicle that GM's fix is to add thicker oil. I think that the rods and bearings should at least be visually inspected. The dealers maintenance manager at Kunes Lake Geneva says theyll listen to it with a stethescope. If it sounds ok theyll change the oil. I paid way to much to chance my familys safety on thicker oil. To make the situation better the vehicle blue books for $56,000.00 IT DEPRECIATED $26000.00 IN TWO YEARS. That is unacceptable.Read more

FEDERAL SAFETY RECALL 23V-431 FAILED AFTER FOUR REPAIR ATTEMPTS - MULTIPLE SAFETY SYSTEMS NOW NON-FUNCTIONAL My Honda was subject to Federal Safety Recall 23V-431 (MOST Communication Cable causing backup camera failure). ... n Carlos performed recall repair 23V-431. Dealer claimed issue resolved. October 5, 2024 - Original backup camera/infotainment failure returned. I documented with photo evidence but problem was intermittent. September 29, 2025 (48,038 miles) - Returned to Honda San Carlos. Same backup camera failure. Dealer attempted repair. November 18, 2025 (48,928 miles) - Returned to Honda San Carlos. Problem persists. Dealer claimed repair complete. December 20, 2025 - Returned to Honda San Carlos. Original problem PLUS multiple NEW safety system failures now appearing: Backup camera (original recall issue) - STILL FAILING Adaptive Cruise Control - ERROR Collision Mitigation System - ERROR Lane Keep Assist System - ERROR Auto High Beam System - ERROR Front camera - ERROR DEALER RESPONSE: Honda San Carlos now claims new failures are "unrelated" to recall 23V-431 and proposes $2,900 for front camera replacement. I declined as all failing systems communicate via the MOST network that was subject to the original recall. SAFETY CONCERN: I now have a vehicle with MULTIPLE non-functional federally-mandated and safety-critical systems due to what appears to be the same MOST communication defect that recall 23V-431 was supposed to fix. The recall remedy has demonstrably failed and the problem is worsening. Honda's recall remedy is inadequate and has resulted in cascading safety system failures. Vehicle is unsafe to operate with non-functional collision mitigation, lane keep assist, and camera systems.Read more

While driving on the freeway at normal highway speed, the vehicle experienced a sudden and catastrophic engine failure. The engine immediately lost power, and the vehicle shut down within seconds. There was no prior warning or opportunity to take corrective action. The vehicle became completely disabled and could not be driven. This occurred late at night with limited traffic, and I was LUCKY to
... be near a freeway exit. I was able to coast toward the exit, but the engine seized fully, resulting in total loss of propulsion and blocking the freeway exit ramp. Law enforcement had to assist due to the disabled vehicle creating a traffic obstruction and safety hazard. A tow truck was required to remove the vehicle because it could not be restarted or moved. Under normal traffic conditions, this sudden loss of engine power at freeway speed could have resulted in a SERIOUS, potentially FATAL COLLISION. The outcome depended on luck, timing, and location rather than any safety system functioning as intended. The engine was later diagnosed by an authorized Hyundai dealership as seized due to internal failure. Hyundai denied warranty coverage because a software safety campaign had not been completed prior to the failure, even though the failure occurred suddenly and without warning, leaving no opportunity to complete the campaign. However, at the time of the failure, the NHTSA recall lookup tool showed ZERO unrepaired recalls associated with this vehicle’s VIN. The campaign referenced by Hyundai is intended only to detect certain engine conditions and does not repair engine defects. In this case, the engine failed before any detection or warning could occur. The vehicle had just been refueled and was equipped with four brand-new tires, confirming it was being operated normally. This incident involved an unexpected and complete loss of engine power at freeway speed due to an apparent engine defect, presenting a SERIOUS SAFETY RISK to the driver and other motorists.Read more

Incident date: Dec 28, 2025
On December 24, 2025, the contact's 2023 Chevrolet Malibu was involved in a severe side-impact collision. The vehicle was struck on the rear passenger side by a full-size pickup truck traveling at high speed (est. 60 mph) that failed to stop at a red light. The impact caused the contact's vehicle to spin approximately 180 degrees and strike a concrete median sideways, generating high lateral G-for
... ces. FAILURE 1: AIRBAG NON-DEPLOYMENT. Despite the severity of the impact and the violent spin into a curb (rollover trip point), the side curtain airbags and front seat-mounted side impact airbags failed to deploy. The failure of the restraint system caused the driver to be thrown against the driver-side door structure, striking their head on the window and B-pillar. The driver sustained a concussion, cervical strain, and lumbar strain. Medical records confirm the injuries are consistent with impact against the vehicle interior due to non-deployment. FAILURE 2: EMERGENCY TELEMATICS MALFUNCTION. Immediately post-collision, the driver attempted to manually activate the OnStar/SOS emergency buttons. The system failed to connect to an advisor. Instead, the vehicle's infotainment screen malfunctioned, opening a voice-to-text transcription application. The system then bypassed the vehicle's internal telematics module and attempted to route the emergency call to the owner's personal cell phone, indicating a complete failure of the vehicle's emergency communication hardware. This resulted in a 34-minute delay in coordinating professional assistance. Contact notes; while this vehicle currently shows 0 open recalls, the failure mechanism (sensor non-response during side impact) mimics the defect described in NHTSA Campaign 22V923000 (GM Recall N222392300), where improper welding of the front impact bar causes crash sensors to fail. The vehicle is available for inspection. Police and medical reports confirm the incident details. No warning lights were illuminated prior to crash.Read more

The transmission has consistently been stuttering and slipping. It’s most notable at low speeds accelerating from 0 to 30, 40mph. Around 2-3k rpms it stutters every day. This have been going on since about 90,000 miles.
Incident date: Dec 1, 2025
I have a 2018 Hyundai Elantra with about 155k miles. It has been consuming oil excessively and has developed serious drivability issues. If I try to accelerate even slightly harder than normal—especially above 2,000 RPM—it makes a metallic, chain-type rattling noise, loses power, and produces heavy smoke from the exhaust. The smoke sometimes continues even after shutting the engine off and res
... tarting. Because of this, I’ve been avoiding rapid acceleration and slowly working up to highway speeds. The car also periodically shakes at idle, idles higher than normal at times, and the RPMs will occasionally rise on their own. In the past it has stalled randomly, and sometimes it feels like the transmission is “stuck” and won’t shift properly. Despite all this, there are currently no check-engine codes. This is terrible and clearly there’s been lawsuits and other recalls regarding the same issue and same engine but nothing for mine? I am out of warranty and had no clue the amount of issues the car was going to have until last year and I’m screwed now, insurance doesn’t cover issues with the engine or transmission. Neither will Hyundai?! Last year Hyundai performed a CVVT repair that cost about $6,000, which temporarily improved things, but the symptoms returned shortly afterward. When I brought it back, they said they couldn’t recreate the issue. The car is now out of warranty. The Active Lane Management (ALM) system shuts itself off which the displays a warning on the the instrument panel to indicate it has been disabled. If you try to turn it back on manually, it gives a warning that the system is unavailable and service is required. It will not allow you to manually turn the ALM system back on. ... ere it was purchased but there were no computer codes shown to indicate what the problem was. They did an system update which did not fix the problem. Shutting off the engine and re-starting will clear this issue and you don't know when it may reappear (it could be the same day or possibly several weeks before it does it again). It had been doing this for approximately a month before I was able to get the photo. It continues to be an intermittent problem resulting in the loss of a safety feature of this vehicle.Read more

Then it went out again recently in the same type of weather and now since I am out of my warranty they are trying to charge me for the same issue, this is definitely a hazard to my health and the health of my children being that the weather can’t afford anyone with n
... o AC. Plus they are refusing to see this as a manufacturer issue, when obviously it is. So I am complaining because this is definitely an electrical issue that could lead to other problems and the manufacturer needs to take responsibility and issue the recall because I am not the only consumer experiencing these issues. The faulty AC could lead to a fire or other serious issues that possibly cause injuries to me or my childrenRead more

Shortly after the powertrain warranty expired, the automatic transmission in my 2020 Toyota Highlander began producing a loud whining/howling noise during normal driving. The noise appears to come from the transmission area and increases with vehicle speed. The issue was not present during the warranty period and began unexpectedly soon after expiration. The abnormal noise raises concerns about i

This condition could pose a safety risk if the transmission were to fail while driving, especially at highway speeds or when merging into traffic. No warning lights or messages were displayed prior to or during the issue. The vehicle was inspected by a Toyota dealer, and the problem was confirmed to be related to the transmission.Read more
