The ICCU in my 2023 Ioniq 5 has failed for the second time. The 12V battery is dead and the car cannot be driven. It will be sitting at the dealership waiting for a new part for at least a month. Hyundai claims to have fixed the ICCU problem but from online reports it is clear that they have not solved this problem.

The car turn off while driving it. This creates a serious safety concern. We took the car to a mechanic and he was not able to identify the problem, he suggested we take it to the dealership. We then took it to the kia dealer ( Covina) and they have had it for months and yet are not able to fix it. Yesterday we received a call telling us, the engine failure is related to the oil pressure and it
... would need a new engine. This is no longer covered under warranty. This same car has already had the engine replaced once before. When we bought the Kia in 2018 (new) just weeks after we took it home, it required a new engine, which Kia replaced. The current issue appears to be related to oil pressure and is consistent with engine concerns reported on this model year.Read more

I tried to engage the brakes manually but nothing happened. I slammed into a semi at around 60mph because of 3 different system failures. Not only did I hit the semi at 60~mph, apparently my brakes didn’t work at all and I spun out until I hit the concrete barrier on the highway. If my brakes had engaged automatically, I could have slowed down enough to avoid the collision altogether. And if they had engaged manually I could have at least minimized the damage to my vehicle (and myself) because I wouldn’t have hit the concrete barrier as well.Read more

I am reporting a safety-related failure involving the clutch system on my 2022 BMW M3. At approximately 26,000 miles when I purchased, I began experiencing clutch-related issues, including slipping and abnormal engagement. I brought the vehicle to the BMW dealership on two separate occasions to report these concerns, but the dealership dismissed the issue and did not document or inspect the clutc
... h. At approximately 33,000 miles, while driving on the freeway, the clutch failed to properly engage and would not catch gears, creating an unsafe driving condition and placing myself and other motorists at risk. This loss of engagement occurred during normal driving and was not related to abuse, racing, or track use. After this incident, the dealership inspected the vehicle and discovered excessive clutch debris through the bellhousing inspection port, indicating accelerated and premature wear. The clutch and flywheel now require replacement. This issue was reported earlier but not documented, delaying diagnosis and allowing the clutch to degrade to a point where it created a safety hazard. I am concerned this represents a premature failure of a critical drivetrain component under normal driving conditions. I am submitting this complaint so the issue is formally documented as a potential safety defect.Read more

Smoke set off smoke dector in garrage has a burning smell not plastic like metel and the car has a odor like nail polish on the inside. I am writing to provide an urgent update regarding my Jeep. While attempting to move it today, the following occurred: Smoke and Melting Odor: The vehicle began emitting a strong odor of melting components. This was severe enough to trigger the heat and smoke detectors in my garage. Erratic Electrical Behavior: Even with the ignition in the "Off" position and the charging cable disconnected, the vehicle continues to make loud clicking and internal cycling noises. Total System Failure: The dashboard displayed multiple critical errors, including “Unable to detect key fob,” “Service electric charging system,” and “Hybrid System Failure.” Loss of Motive Power: The vehicle entered "Turtle Mode" and repeatedly stalled, rendering it undrivable. Immediate Requirements: Given that this vehicle has already undergone three unsuccessful repair attempts and now poses a direct physical threat to my home and safety, I am requesting immediate instructions on how Chrysler intends to safely remove this vehicle from my property. I have documented the alarms, the error messages, and the sounds via video for your engineering team to review. Because of the fire risk, I will not attempt to start, charge, or drive the vehicle to the Concord location (85 miles away). At least two separate wiring harnesses have failed on my vehicle, affecting the tail lights. My vehicle cannot pass New York State safety inspection because of this issue. Safety of myself and other drivers is at risk, especially at night, since my vehicle is not properly illuminated. Occasionally, one tail light will go out or flicker. I had one trailer harness removed under a safety recall, but
... I don't recall the dealership ever replacing it. Then, a couple of years later, I got a ticket for a tail light being out. Paid the dealership to replace a (possibly second) trailer wiring harness, but they got the wrong one. When they finally got the "right" one, another (possible 3rd), much more expensive harness was found to be shorted due to corrosion, prompting me to look into trading the vehicle in instead of repairing it. All harness issues in question are related to corrosion from water infiltration. The technician working on my vehicle told me that this is a common issue with Santa Cruzes and Tucson's, but only certain vehicles have been recalled (of course, mine was not on the list). My vehicle is only 3 years old. This is all after having the dealership replace a harness under the seat that was causing an issue with the audio, including safety notifications, that started within weeks of owning the vehicle. No warning lights, messages faults, or other symptoms indicated there was an issue. Self diagnostics, as accessed via Hyundai's BlueLink app, has no record of issues since the first wiring harness issues I had when I first bought the vehicle (see below). I have already filed a separate complaint regarding the harness under the seat. This is a new complaint regarding wiring harnesses, unrelated to the first underseat harness complaint.Read more

My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle is subject to multiple NHTSA safety recalls involving loss of propulsion and vehicle fire risk. Safety Recall 73C (NHTSA 25V-576) addresses a Hybrid Control Processor software defect that may cause sudden and unexpected loss of drive power without warning, increa
... sing the risk of a crash. Safety Recall 78C (NHTSA 25V-766) involves potential contamination of the 2.0L engine from the casting process, which may result in catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, and unrecoverable loss of drive power. For an extended period, no remedy was available. Safety Recall 68C (NHTSA 25V-741) involves a High Voltage Battery defect that may lead to a vehicle fire. FCA instructed owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park away from structures or other vehicles. I have been unable to safely charge the vehicle for over six months and have been restricted from using my assigned covered parking due to fire risk. Despite multiple dealership visits for recall-related service, the vehicle has not been fully restored to safe, normal operation. No loaner or substitute transportation has been provided during safety-related repairs. These conditions significantly impair the safety, use, and value of the vehicle and create ongoing risk to occupants and surrounding property. The situation I’m about to explain has happened twice—once in December 2025 and again on January 22, 2026. In December, the roads were very icy, but there was no snow on the ground. As I made a right turn into a Walmart parking lot, I heard a loud metal-breaking sound while turning. I immediately got out and looked underneath my 2018 Hyundai Tucson SEL but didn’t see anything unusual. Afte
... r finishing my shopping, I started the SUV to pull out of the parking space. The car was trying to move, but the rear tires were not moving at all. A man waiting for my parking spot noticed this and told me one of the tires wasn’t turning. As I drove home, I heard extremely loud metal noises coming from the back of the vehicle—sounds like metal twisting, breaking, and falling to the ground. At no point did any warning lights come on. I took the car to a highly rated mechanic, Premier Car Care, where they did a thorough inspection and found nothing wrong. After being reassured that the vehicle was safe, I continued driving it. Then on January 22, 2026, the same issue happened again. I was driving to my internship, and the roads were slushy. Suddenly, the Tucson became unstable, slid unexpectedly, and I heard the same metal twisting and breaking noises. This time, the ABS light came on briefly and then went off. The vehicle felt unsafe and unstable, even though I was driving very slowly—around 15 miles per hour. I was terrified and nearly hit someone. I had the car towed through Triple A back to the mechanic, but once again, they were unable to find the cause after inspecting it, and it is sitting in my driveway. I am reaching out because I am on disability, I have three children with autism, and I am also currently in school. I rely on this vehicle, and I truly need help investigating what is happening so this issue can be properly identified and fixed before someone gets seriously hurt.Read more

While driving my 2025 Nissan Armada Platinum Reserve during morning rush hour traffic and moving with the speed of traffic, the accelerator (gas) pedal assembly physically broke off, causing an immediate loss of throttle control. The failure occurred in active traffic at a busy intersection located at the top of a hill, leaving the vehicle stranded partially in a turn lane and straight-through la
... ne. I was unable to safely move the vehicle out of traffic due to the pedal detaching from its mounting point. There were no warning lights, no prior looseness, and no unusual resistance prior to the failure. This appears to be a mechanical/structural failure of the accelerator pedal assembly, not an electronic throttle or sensor malfunction. Due to the dangerous location and inability to move the vehicle, law enforcement (a sheriff) responded approximately 30 minutes later to assist with traffic safety. The vehicle remained immobilized in traffic for an extended period, and it took nearly two hours for a tow truck to arrive. This incident created a serious and prolonged safety hazard, exposing me and other motorists to a high risk of collision. The vehicle had approximately 9,700 miles and has been driven under normal conditions. The vehicle is currently not being driven due to safety concerns. The failed accelerator pedal assembly is available for inspection. I am reporting this as a potential manufacturing or material defect and believe it warrants investigation to prevent similar failures in other vehicles.Read more

While driving my Kia EV6 in the middle of a snowstorm, the vehicle experienced a sudden and severe power failure. I heard a loud popping sound from the rear of the cabin, after which the vehicle immediately entered reduced-power (limp) mode. Within approximately one minute, the vehicle shut down entirely and lost all propulsion and mobility. I was able to move the vehicle to a safe location only
... because I was not in traffic or on the highway at the time of the failure. Had this occurred at highway speeds or in active traffic, it would likely have resulted in a dangerous situation with a high risk of collision, especially given the severe winter weather, low visibility, and slippery road conditions. The vehicle has approximately 21,000 miles. This is the second failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) in this vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Kia dealer, who has officially diagnosed the failure as a failed ICCU and associated fuse. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the failure. The first indication of a problem was the popping sound, immediately followed by limp mode and then a complete shutdown without further warning. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The ICCU assembly and charging components were serviced and replaced by an authorized Hyundai dealer and are available for inspection through service records. This
... defect created a safety risk because the vehicle experienced complete charging failure and reduced-power operation. Loss of charging capability can leave drivers stranded, and reduced-power “turtle mode” conditions can limit acceleration and vehicle performance, creating hazards in traffic. The charge port has also not locked during charging, creating a potential risk of electrical arcing during DC fast charging. The failure was reproduced and confirmed by an authorized Hyundai dealer. In approximately January 2025 the vehicle would not charge and remained at the dealership for an extended period (about January through June 2025). After diagnosis and consultation with Hyundai technical support, the dealer replaced the ICCU assembly and high-voltage fuse. The vehicle and charging system have been inspected multiple times by Hyundai service centers. Hyundai issued recall campaigns in 2023 and 2024 involving ICCU software updates and fuse-related work, but these did not prevent the later failure requiring full ICCU replacement. Prior symptoms included abnormal charging behavior and eventual total loss of AC charging capability during the 2025 failure, making home charging impossible. After the ICCU replacement, the vehicle exhibited unusually loud cooling fan operation during Level 2 charging, documented by the dealer. There were also charging-port safety concerns. Complaint Description: While driving my 2025 Honda Odyssey, the Auto Idle‑Stop system engaged in the middle of an intersection at a traffic light, shutting the engine off as designed. When I released the brake pedal, the engine failed to restart, leaving the vehicle stalled in traffic. The dashboard displayed warning indicators including the battery light, and the only way to move the vehicle wa
... s to turn off the car completely several time and try to manually restart the engine. This issue has occurred multiple times and poses a serious safety risk, especially when it happens in intersections or heavy traffic. I almost got hit by an oncoming car! On each occasion, surrounding traffic was forced to maneuver around my vehicle, creating the potential for a rear‑end or a side collision. this has been happening for a long time now and these instances are occurring almost weekly at this point. They are increasing. I have seen that other 2025 Odyssey owners are reporting the same issue — engine shuts off after Auto Idle‑Stop activates and will not restart — sometimes requiring a full restart and causing dangerous traffic situations on carfax.com. Based on similar NHTSA‑documented complaints and investigations into Honda Auto Idle‑Stop restart failures, this appears consistent with a known defect pattern involving stalled engines and failure to restart after idle‑stop engagement. (lawinfo.com and edmunds.com) The dealership has already replaced my low pressure fuel pump and state that they are fulkly aware of the issue and have not provided a permanent fix, and the problem continues to occur unpredictably. My wife and 4 children are in this car all the time. This defect could easily lead to an accident if the vehicle becomes immobilized in moving traffic. They quoted over $2,200 for installation and reprogramming of a new module, which itself costs approximately $1,800. The car has had recurring ABS and VSA warning lights for several weeks prior to the issue becoming critical, and I was not informed by Honda about any recalls or known issues with the module. But this is common. As a loyal Honda customer, I am extremely disappointed that I have to shoulder the cost of what seems to be a widespread design flaw. I am requesting that Honda take responsibility for this issue and assist in covering the repair costs, as this is not an isolated problem but a defect in vehicles from this generation.Read more
