I am submitting this complaint to report ongoing safety-related defects with my Volkswagen vehicle that remain unresolved despite multiple attempts through the manufacturer and an authorized dealership. The vehicle has experienced recurring and unpredictable issues including warning lights activating without explanation, sensor malfunctions, abnormal and recurring brake noises, and the infotainme
... nt/vehicle information system intermittently failing to power on or experiencing complete blackouts during operation. These issues occur during normal driving and present potential safety concerns by distracting the driver, limiting access to vehicle information, and raising concerns regarding braking reliability and electrical system stability. I previously filed a formal complaint directly with Volkswagen regarding these defects and have received no meaningful response, resolution, or follow-up. I also brought the vehicle to an authorized Volkswagen dealership for inspection. Despite review, no permanent repair was completed and the same defects continue to occur. I was not provided a clear explanation, corrective action, or assurance that the vehicle is safe for continued operation. I have documentation showing that these issues are not isolated to my vehicle. Identical brake noises and infotainment system blackouts have been widely reported by other Volkswagen owners across social media platforms and Reddit community groups, suggesting a broader or systemic defect. In addition, I personally possess videos and photographs documenting the brake noises, infotainment blackouts, warning lights, and electrical irregularities affecting my vehicle. This evidence is available upon request, and I am prepared to provide follow-up information as needed. Given the repeated failures, lack of manufacturer response, and corroborating reports from other owners, I am requesting that this complaint be formally recorded and evaluated by the NHTSA.Read more

This submission supplements my prior NHTSA ODI complaint regarding the same vehicle and loss-of-motive-power condition. On Nov 8, 2025, the vehicle experienced a loss of propulsion at highway speed, creating an immediate safety risk. The vehicle could not maintain speed and required evasive action with no propulsion to avoid traffic hazards. Following the incident, the vehicle was inspected and
... stored diagnostic trouble codes P0A3F-00 and P0A43-00 were retrieved, relating to drive motor position sensor / resolver signal loss or degradation. These fault codes are associated with loss of propulsion and indicate a propulsion control signal-path fault, rather than a condition resolved by software calibration alone. The vehicle remains available for inspection and is out of service at a dealership due to unresolved safety concerns. Since my prior ODI complaint, I provided formal written notice to the manufacturer describing the incident, the retrieved fault codes, and the safety implications, and requested a written response. Receipt was confirmed by USPS certified mail on January 6, 2026. No written response was provided, and repeated attempts to contact the manufacturer through customer service channels were not returned. The manufacturer authorized only a recall firmware update and declined to authorize or perform the intermittent wiring and resolver diagnostics identified in its diagnostic procedures for these fault codes. The firmware update does not inspect, repair, or replace the resolver, wiring, or related hardware indicated by the stored codes, and does not determine whether the underlying propulsion fault has been corrected. As a result, the vehicle has been out of service for more than two months, and the risk of another loss-of-propulsion event remains unresolved. This update documents the manufacturer’s non-response after notice and reliance on a software-only remedy that does not address the indicated propulsion system fault.Read more

SUBJECT: Sabotage of Safety-Related Engine Test via Unauthorized Modification DESCRIPTION: While my vehicle was undergoing an official manufacturer oil consumption test for a potential engine replacement warranty claim, a dealership in Lincolnwood, IL damaged the oil pan threads. Instead of a proper OEM repair, they installed a non-standard, oversized self-tapping "KKB" bolt without my knowledge
... or consent to conceal the damage. SAFETY RISK: Two independent certified mechanics have verified this as a hazardous "quick-fix." This non-OEM bolt relies on compromised aluminum threads and poses a severe risk of sudden, catastrophic oil loss, which could lead to engine seizure and fire while driving. MANUFACTURER NEGLIGENCE: The manufacturer has been presented with photographic and independent expert evidence confirming this unauthorized modification. Despite the clear safety hazard, the manufacturer has repeatedly delayed resolution through multiple follow-up postponements. CONSEQUENCES: This unauthorized modification has halted the engine safety test, leaving the vehicle with both a failing engine and an unsafe oil pan. The manufacturer has refused to provide safe alternative transportation while the vehicle is in this hazardous state during extreme winter conditions. I am seeking immediate intervention to ensure the vehicle is restored to factory safety standards and the engine safety test is completed.Read more

While driving, a warning message displayed on the dashboard stating that there was a fault in the electrical system and that I should pull over and stop the car. I was stopped on the side of a two lane road with a 55 mph speed limit. In order to exit the car I

This occurred at night with no street lighting to show oncoming drivers that there was a stopped vehicle immediately next to the traffic lane. This put me and other drivers at risk. The vehicle was towed to a dealer capable of working on this type of failure. The dealer determined that the failed component is known as the ICCU. This is a critical part and had been known to fail in this model. My vehicle had already received every software update in an attempt by the manufacturer to avoid the ICCU failure. The dealer replaced the failed ICCU with a new working ICCU. It is my understanding that the replacement ICCU is identical to the failed ICCU and a risk remains that the new one could fail as well with a loss of power while driving at speed.Read more

My car has a problem This will be the 3rd visit to the Chevy dealership and the 6th time in a garage. At this time, the original alternator that came with the Tahoe, was running high through December and replaced with a new alternator from Parts Geek. It was ok for a couple weeks and is running high again. You cannot test it from a cold start to get this reading. It must be ran for at least 20 min
... . After a certain amount of time the battery gauge will move to the highest point, the warning lights of ABs, traction control, stabilitrak, trailer brake light, battery light (first time on 1/27/2026 for battery light), loss of drivers assist on 1/26/2026, tire pressure light, car dies coming to a stop sign. I can’t turn it back on for at least a min. I’m stuck inside with zero power, can’t unlock the doors to get out to direct traffic, open windows or put on 4 ways so I don’t get smacked in the middle of the road. After that minute I heard a click (no key in ignition, not trying to start) and then the dash lights started coming back on again and I started it. The battery did not restart the time on the radio screen so I’m assuming I didn’t die fully. The radio screen always goes black first, then the heat goes in and out, the warning lights come on and it dies. Takes a minute or so to be able to start it again and the lights aren’t on anymore but will continue to do the same shit after awhile of driving and now daily. I’m afraid to drive it anywhere since almost getting stuck inside and plowed at an interaction. I have reached out to Chevy about this problem and was referred to take it back to the dealership again, and to reach back out as soon as it’s there to open a case on the issue.Ive had it, this has been ongoing for a year, and I have to keep paying for things that doesn’t fix the issue and it’s getting worse.Read more
