I am writing to express my significant frustration regarding the handling of NHTSA Recall 25V896. I dropped off my vehicle several weeks ago following the recall notice, only to be informed later that the software remedy is not expected until Q2 2026. I am reporting a serious safety issue involving my 2026 Hyundai Palisade with fewer than 5,000 miles. Hyundai has now issued Recall 296 stating that the second and third row power seats may not respond properly when contacting an occupant or object. Prior to receiving the recall notice, I had already taken the vehicle to the dealership three separate times regarding problems with the rear seats a
... nd unexplained battery failures. Each time I was told nothing was wrong with the seats. The first incident occurred when my child was seated in the rear seat. I attempted to move the seat backward to create more space, but instead of opening properly the seat continued moving in a way that began closing toward my child and would not stop. I was able to quickly remove my child before the seat fully closed. The seat then continued moving on its own. The second incident involved the vehicle battery completely dying without warning. When AAA came to jump start the vehicle, I heard the rear seat motors operating mechanically even though no one was using the seats. The third incident occurred when the battery died again and AAA was called a second time. During the jump start I again heard mechanical movement from the rear seat motors. I had to pay to replace the battery even though the vehicle was nearly new. I informed the dealership multiple times that I believed the issue was related to the seat system, but they told me they could not find anything wrong. Given that Hyundai has now issued Recall 296 regarding malfunctioning power seats, I am extremely concerned that this defect presents a serious safety hazard, particularly to children in the rear seats. I believe the seat system may also be draining the battery due to unintended motor operation.Read more

Vehicle: 2017 Nissan Rogue VIN: [XXX] Issue: Hood latch / safety latch failure Description of the problem: While opening the fuel door, I accidentally pulled the interior hood‑release lever. The primary hood latch released, but the hood remained mostly closed. I did not realize the hood was unlatched. When I began driving, the hood suddenly flew open. This indicates that the secondary safety l
... atch failed to engage and hold the hood down, which is its intended safety function. . A failure of the secondary hood latches is a serious safety hazard, and the hood opening while driving created an immediate visibility obstruction and risk of a crash. What happened as a result: The hood flew open while the vehicle was in motion, blocking forward visibility. I was able to stop safely, but this could have caused a collision. Frequency: This is the first occurrence, but the latch mechanism may be sticking. Why this is a safety concern: Even if the primary latch is released, the secondary safety latch is specifically designed to prevent the hood from opening while driving. Its failure represents a critical safety defect. Request: Please document this incident and evaluate whether similar failures are occurring on 2017 Nissan Rogue vehicles. My 2011 Hyundai Sonata experienced sudden engine failure and the engine is now locked up. The vehicle became inoperable and had to be taken to a Hyundai dealership. The dealership confirmed the engine is locked and not drivable. Hyundai denied the engine replacement claim stating the vehicle has A04/A08 branding indicating the engine originates from a scrapped or rebuilt vehicle. However, Hyundai
... refused to provide any documentation supporting this claim. They also refused to verify the engine serial number against the VIN to confirm whether the engine is original to the vehicle. A NMVTIS vehicle history report shows the title status as ACTIVE with no salvage, junk, or rebuilt branding. Despite this, Hyundai continues to deny the claim without documentation. This vehicle contains the Hyundai Theta II engine that has been the subject of recalls and settlement actions related to premature engine failure. The failure pattern in this case matches the known defect where engines seize or lock up unexpectedly.Read more

Brandon Hyundai sold me this vehicle with an active stop sale. On February 20, 2026, I purchased a 2025 Hyundai Palisade from the dealership. After taking delivery of the vehicle, I discovered that the VIN associated with the vehicle was subject to an active manufacturer stop-sale related to a safety recall for which no remedy was available at the time of delivery. This critical information was no
... t disclosed to me during the sales process and was not reflected in any documentation provided at closing, including the buyer’s order or “We Owe” form. As a consumer, I relied on the dealership to comply with applicable safety requirements and to be transparent about the condition and status of the vehicle being sold. Upon discovering the stop-sale status, I returned to the dealership the very next day, on Saturday February 21, 2026, to address the issue. During that visit, I spoke with both the Sales Manager and the Finance Manager. At that time, I was told that there was nothing that could be done because I had already signed the contract and “the ink was dry.” The seriousness of the concern I raised was initially dismissed. As I am sure you know, the contract should be void when selling a vehicle in violation of the law. Both of these managers promised me that the vehicle had undergone a safety check prior to delivery, which is not true, as later discussed. It was not until the following Monday morning, February 23, 2026, after escalating the issue again and speaking with another manager, that the dealership agreed to reverse the transaction. On that second attempt, the deal was unwound and my trade-in vehicle and down payment were returned to me. While I acknowledge that the dealership ultimately corrected the situation, the fact remains that the vehicle should never have been delivered to a consumer while under an active stop-sale condition. The initial refusal to address the issue when it was first raised with management was deeply concerning.Read more

Battery Management System completely exhausting the 12V battery resulting in the car acting as if it has no power. When this happens, you can't unlock the door or open the trunk. On two separate occasions, I have encountered a complete loss of power in my Sonata Hybrid, preventing me from unlocking the trunk or doors upon returning from extended trips. The first incident occurred after a ten-day
... absence last Fall, and the most recent was on Saturday, March 14, 2025. During the latest incident, I returned from a seven-day trip and found my vehicle parked at Orlando International Airport. Upon approaching the car, I anticipated being able to unlock the trunk, load my luggage, enter the vehicle, and drive home. However, once again, the vehicle was unresponsive. Accessing the car required removing the cap from the door handle and manually inserting the key, a process that took approximately ten minutes, which was particularly inconvenient and concerning in an airport parking lot. This situation was even more challenging considering I am a [XXX] woman of smaller stature attempting to resolve this issue alone at night. I believe this poses a serious safety concern for all owners under similar circumstances. Following the incident last Fall, I brought my Sonata Hybrid to Key Hyundai in Jacksonville. I was informed that this is a known issue for which there is a recall; however, my vehicle model year is not included in the affected range. It was suggested that I would need to manage this problem independently. The electric power assist steering system on my 2022 Tesla Model X began displaying a "Steering Assist Reduced / Steering May Require Increased Effort" warning intermittently beginning in approximately May 2024, shortly after I purchased the vehicle. This warning appeared more times than I can count over the following months. In most instances the warning appeared but the steering continued to fun
... ction normally. On approximately March 2, 2026, the warning appeared and for the first time the steering became extremely difficult to turn, requiring significantly increased physical effort to control the vehicle. The first physical failure occurred while parking at low speed in reverse. The steering failure also occurred subsequently while driving at highway speeds. In both instances I stopped the vehicle, exited, waited briefly, and upon re-entering the vehicle the warning cleared and steering returned to normal. This same sequence repeated the following day. The vehicle was brought to a Tesla authorized service center on March 13, 2026. Tesla's technician confirmed the steering assist reduction as reported and determined the steering gear required full replacement. The failed part, steering gear left hand drive part number 1070801-00-F, was replaced. Only full hardware replacement resolved the issue permanently. Prior power cycling provided only temporary relief. My safety was directly at risk. I am a full-time rideshare driver operating at highway speeds. The failed component has been replaced and is in Tesla's possession. I am reporting a safety concern involving my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Limited involving repeated engine malfunction warning lights and diagnostic trouble code P001600 (camshaft/crankshaft timing correlation fault). This issue has occurred multiple times within the first 60 days of ownership and the vehicle has been taken to a Hyundai dealership twice. The dealer has not been able to determine a perm
... anent repair and states the code is stored as a history fault without an available fix at this time. This defect is concerning because camshaft/crankshaft timing correlation faults can potentially result in engine stall, loss of power, or unexpected shutdown while driving, which could create a serious safety risk. I routinely drive long distances and transport two small children in this vehicle and no longer feel confident in the safety and reliability of this vehicle due to the unresolved engine defect. Additionally, I understand there is a recent safety recall affecting certain 2026 Hyundai Palisade vehicles, which increases my concern about the safety of this vehicle platform. I am submitting this complaint because this appears to be a potential safety defect involving engine operation that could affect safe driving conditions.Read more
