I was unable to move fully out of the lane as the car just died. I was half in the shoulder and the fast lane. I was crying with fear while I had to wait for CHP to move me. Multiple times feared other cars would hit me at 80MPH+ while I waited 30mins+ for CHP to stop traffic and move me to the shoulder. Took the car to the dealership for the second time to be "fixed" for the same issue as Nov. 2023. Fuel injector, and catalytic converter were "replaced". While driving my car with no warning light or any type of sound just cut off engine while driving. I was on busy highway going slightly uphill and was almost rear ended causing car behind me to swerve to avoid hitting me swerving to other lane and almost colliding into another car. I was able to get to middle divider almost but back end of my car sticking out in #2 lane. I was stuck in car for abo
... ut 10 minutes then got across Street to sidewalk. There was no warning, no smoke etc prior to engine cutting off. Everything still works lights, a/c, radio etc . Engine tries to turn over but then slowly dies out like a battery issue however I have a 2 year old battery and when I charge it or try to jump start it it doesn't start also everything else powers on. I have had it stall 2 times before on L.A. freeway in which I somehow was able to cross over 4 lanes coasting to side of freeway. And at that time was sideswipped by another vehicle to front of car and car kept going and I really didn't have time to think about that while just trying to maneuver safely to side of freeway. The 1 and 2nd time it stalled it did restart after about 10 min. But this 3rd time it hasn't started again. The most recent incident was4/15/26. Another issue is the massive amounts of oil it consumes. I put in 2 quarts a week . But there is never oil leaking on driveway or anywhere its parked so where is oil going. I've had it checked several times and they said that these cars burn through oil and I also told Hyundai dealer about both issue and nothing was ever done. My s Check engine came on and I took in to shop and picked it up after paying alot of money and light was off but about a week later on. Took it back and pick up and lights off running good another couple thousand again. And on and off just randomly and auto mechanic shop said I would need to take to hyundai dealer to see whats happening. Called and told them never heard back. I have more pic of repairs but couldn't load moreRead more

We think there’s an issue with the abs module and wheel speed sensor because we started having a problem where the brakes wouldn’t work or would stutter. We did some research and it sounds like the same issue Hyundai is having with the palisade. The incident that made us get it replaced to begin with was were driving down the road and we got to a traffic light but when we tried to brake they just didn’t work so we drove through the red light luckily the one person who was supposed to be going saw us and didn’t pull out in front of us so we didn’t get hit. We haven’t taken it to the dealership yet but my sister who teaches automotive repair at the community college is the one who diagnosed it so she said we should report it here so maybe it won’t happen to anyone else. Before we had the brake issue we were having problems with basically everything on the dash not working randomly. We’d be driving down the road and the speedometer and the outside sensors and the gas gauge and the traction control all would go out at the same time it’s the same stuff that went out when we had the abs unplugged so it seems that might be related.Read more

The vehicle has multiple unresolved safety recalls involving the seatbelt system and the airbag system (ejection mitigation/side curtain airbags). The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealership, which confirmed the recalls. I have also been in communication with Hyundai Motor America regarding these issues. When attempting to fasten the seatbelt, it repeatedly clicks without securing, and at times it does not lock at all, creating a risk that the occupant may not be properly restrained. I contacted both the dealership and Hyundai Motor America to request a safe alternative while waiting for repairs. The dealership offered a loaner vehicle that does not accommodate my family size. Hyundai has not approved rental reimbursement or provided a suitable alternative vehicle. As a result, I do not currently have access to a safe and practical transportation solution while these safety recalls remain unresolved.Read more

Upon delivery of a brand new 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 with 13 miles on the odometer, the washer fluid warning illuminated the next day. Reservoir was refilled on 3/29 and was completely empty by 3/30. The technician confirmed via repair order that the washer fluid hose was actively spouting directly above the ICCU — Integrated Charging Control Un
... it — a safety-critical high voltage component. Washer fluid was confirmed present in the ICCU floor pan. The cause was a nail severing the washer fluid line. The dealer confirmed the vehicle sat on their lot approximately 70 days before the 3/23/26 delivery date and that washer fluid is factory pre-filled. This indicates the leak was active for approximately 70 days before delivery, during which washer fluid leaked above the ICCU and surrounding electronics. Repair required complete interior disassembly — seats, carpet, center console, floor trim — on a 156-mile brand new vehicle. A full floor wire harness was replaced under Hyundai Techline authorization. Soaked carpet and insulation were salvaged outside rather than replaced. Hyundai Motor America declined to proactively replace the ICCU despite documented fluid exposure above it and denied an extended warranty request covering affected electronics. Safety concern: internal corrosion from extended fluid exposure may not present immediately but can cause sudden loss of drive power — a known ICCU failure mode on this platform subject to multiple prior recalls. Loss of drive power at highway speed poses serious safety risk.Read more

... it — a safety-critical high voltage component.

I was driving on the highway in heavy traffic going about 65 mph. An unusual symbol appeared on the dash in red that I don't know what It was or what it meant but I thought it must be something serious. Then a warning came up saying for me to take a break. Then a different warning came up saying that I should take control of the car immediately, it was about to brake. The car immediately began to
... brake. Fortunately I was in the right hand lane of the three-lane highway and I was able to pull into the breakdown lane. I can't even imagine what would have happened if I was in the middle or far left lane. I was not unobservant and both of my hands were on the steering wheel when this happened. Once the vehicle stopped, the symbol on the dash disappeared and the brakes released. I was able to resume driving. Although there was no accident, injury or fire, and no police report needed, this does not discount the seriousness of this event. This could have been life-threatening if I had been in a different lane or had panicked, causing a multi car pileup in the heavy traffic. Serious enough that I feel the need to get rid of this car.Read more

Every time we drive our brand new Tucson on the highway the driver assistance warning is constantly flashing a coffee cup symbol on the dashboard along with an audible bell dinging and text suggesting we pull over and take a break for no apparent reason other than we're on a highway at highway speed.
