Vehicle Component Failure Description: The electronic gear shifter intermittently shifts into neutral without the driver pressing the release button or applying the brake, and can also slide back into drive without button engagement. This has occurred multiple times since service on 08/27/2025 and continues to occur. The issue has been demonstrated to dealership personnel, who confirmed they cou
... ld replicate the condition but stated it is “normal.” Two separate dealerships (Suncoast Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Dayton Andrews Dodge) 3x both acknowledged the behavior and classified it as normal operation. Safety Risk: On 04/30/2026, while pulling from a center median on Gulf to Bay right before Bayside Bridge into traffic (vehicles traveling approximately 45 MPH), the vehicle unexpectedly shifted into neutral without warning. The vehicle lost power and would not accelerate, creating an immediate hazard. I was forced to veer back into the median and narrowly avoided colliding with an arrow board trailer. This condition creates a serious risk of collision, especially in traffic, intersections, or highway conditions, as the vehicle can unexpectedly lose propulsion without any driver input. Inspection / Reproduction: -Issue has been reproduced by dealership personnel -Dealerships claim the condition is “normal” -Manufacturer (Chrysler) has been contacted and a case opened -Vehicle is under warranty (~18,200 miles) Warnings / Symptoms: -No warning lights or alerts prior to shifting into neutral -Occurs without pressing the shifter button or brake pedal Additional Information: Dealership personnel advised to “make sure nothing touches the shifter while driving,” indicating the system may be overly sensitive or defective. This is not a reasonable or safe expectation for normal vehicle operation. If this behavior is considered “normal,” it represents a design or safety defect, as unintended shifting into neutral while in motion creates a high risk of crash or injury.Read more

This vehicle has a major engine flaw; Hyundai USA KNOWS about it, and STILL will not issue a recall for EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. First episode: October 2023 at 86,371 miles. Dealership replaced leaking valve cover gasket and changed woefully-soiled spark plugs. Still under manufacturer warranty, but I paid the balance. Second episode: FOUR MONTHS LATER (Feb. 2024; 89,078 miles), another limp m
... ode and Check Engine lamp. The spark plugs are soiled again with oil, so the dealership changes the spark plugs again, instead of addressing the underlying issue - Excessive oil consumption. Still under warranty, yet I pay the bill...AGAIN. Episode Three: October 04, 2024. Hyundai Sonata goes into limp mode again with CHECK ENGINE LIGHT illuminating – cylinder 1 was misfiring. All spark plugs fouled again; all spark plugs replaced. Valve cover gasket was leaking, so that was replaced as well. Yup, I paid for the repairs out-of-pocket. Episode Four: May 02, 2025. Vehicle goes into limp mode again, with CHECK ENGINE LIGHT turning on. Another spark plug fouled up, so it was replaced. Ignition coil replaced as well. Episode Five: June 19, 2025. Limp mode and Check Engine Lamp illuminates yet again, so Hyundai of North Charleston (SC) initiates an oil consumption test. "...[3.5 quarts of] oil consumption is excessive...", yet Hyundai denies everything. Hyundai is actually admitting to an underlying issue but offers ZERO assistance.Read more

Front chrome hood deflector detached while driving down the interstate. Had a recall on the deflector, recall was performed and the chrome deflector still detached. Tried to get GM to repair and they declined my recall claim. GM stated my 3 year bumper to bumper warranty had expired and they did not have to fix it. This is an extremely hazardous condition and should be covered.

There has been a NHTSA recall for AWD module on 2021 and some newer Bronco sports. The letter in reference to this problem dates 4/9/2021 to include only certain VIN at the time based on manufacturing sites. I feel there has been an underestimation of vehicles/parts affected on this recall based on the fact that it included very limited vehicles only 4 month into production. There have been sever
... al more known to be experiencing this same exact issues as evidenced by many reviews online by bronco sport owners experiencing the same problem. Specifically detailing the triggering of same codes (mentioned in this letter) leading to faulty AWD module diagnosis and replacement at the owners cost. I have reached out to Ford North America to file a claim and have been told my VIN is not included, without even comparing with specific part serial number. In addition, I have found the part #LX6Z-7P238-AANP as replacement referred in the letter has now recently been replaced with a newer more expensive version with a different name and part number M1PZ*7P238*C. I also find it significant that the old part is still for sale at a now discounted price on ford OEM website as of today. I believe this indicates there are known problems with this original part causing need for an updated replacement. Given this evidence l, I feel it is only fair that Ford acknowledges vehicles with the same problem/part are experiencing these issues and be willing to extend the recall. I have reached out to North American Ford and have a claim #Cxh-07823745-c2n6y4. In hopes that they will do what’s right for this customer and replace at no charge, aware that it is defective. My vehicle is currently at the dealership and I am hoping for a fair resolution. Thank you for your time and attention.Read more

The start/stop switch on my 2015 Honda Fit failed — a known defect acknowledged by Honda through Service Bulletin A20-098. A faulty start/stop switch creates serious safety hazards including the inability to start the vehicle in an emergency, becoming stranded in dangerous locations such as intersections or highways, and potential inability to shut the engine off. My vehicle is UNDER the mileage

Check engine light illuminated on my 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. Upon diagnostic scan, the following emissions-related fault codes were present: P11D5 (NOx sensor), P14D9 (NOx sensor), P2383 (EGR pressure sensor), and P2C7A (NOx catalytic converter efficiency). All components are available for inspection upon request. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Chevrolet dealership for diagnosis. The dealer
... acknowledged the emissions codes but stated that unrelated components would need to be repaired at owner expense before the emissions system would be addressed, despite these codes falling within the federally mandated 8-year/80,000-mile emissions warranty. The fault codes were confirmed by the dealership. No safety incident has occurred to date, however degraded NOx and EGR function can result in increased harmful emissions output and potential engine performance issues. Warning lamps appeared without prior incident or symptom. The manufacturer has not offered to cover the emissions components under the federal emissions warranty without the owner first paying for additional repairs that may or may not be causally related to the emissions system failure. When the dealer was directly asked, "Are you saying the emissions system itself is functioning correctly, and something else caused these codes to appear?" — the dealer did not provide an answer. This question was asked in order to clarify whether the emissions components themselves are degraded or failed, which would confirm warranty coverage eligibility. The dealer's failure to answer this question directly is noted as part of this complaint.Read more

On April 27, 2026, my 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe experienced an intermittent electrical/system malfunction affecting multiple vehicle systems at the same time. Multiple orange warning lights/messages appeared on the dash, including driver-assistance warnings and the master warning triangle. At the same time, the front turn signal stopped working, causing rapid flashing; the power locks stopped working;
... the windows would not roll up or down; and the rear liftgate would not open using the key fob or exterior liftgate button. The vehicle/component is available for inspection upon request. This created a safety and access issue. The malfunction affected exterior signaling, locks, windows, and rear cargo access. My dog was in a crate in the rear cargo area, and I could not open the liftgate normally to access him. The failure of locks/windows/liftgate could create a serious emergency risk if a person, pet, or cargo needed to be accessed quickly, and the turn signal failure affected my ability to safely signal to other drivers. The issue lasted approximately 30–40 minutes and did not immediately clear after turning the vehicle off and back on. It later returned to normal on its own. This has happened more than once. The vehicle was taken to a Hyundai dealership for inspection. The dealer has been working with Hyundai Techline, but as of now they have not been able to reproduce the issue or find active diagnostic codes. I provided video evidence of the dash warnings from the incident. The dealer advised that scans currently show systems operating as designed because the issue is intermittent and not occurring during inspection. There were no prior symptoms before the failure. The warning lamps and messages appeared at the time the malfunction occurred. Seek reimbursement for rental car fees and diagnostic fee.Read more

While entering a roundabout at a slow speed (~5MPH), the electronic power steering on my wife's car failed, almost resulting in an accident with another vehicle, as it suddenly became very difficult to steer. The vehicle's power steering warning indicator turned on, and then the following warning messages appeared on the dashboard: Check Forward/Side Safety system, Check Lane Safety system, Check
... Lane Following Assist system, and Check Inattentive Driving Warning system. After turning into a nearby parking lot and parking, the vehicle was turned off and then back on, and all warning messages and the power steering warning indicator turned off. My wife was approximately 1 mile from home and decided to try to drive home. After getting back on the road, the same issue occurred again with all indicators and warnings repopulating on the dashboard this time with the vehicle traveling at approximately 35 MPH as she crossed a major intersection. My wife was able to get the car home safely without power steering, and after turning the car off and back on again, all warning messages and indicators turned off again. The next day, 4/30/2026, we contacted our local Hyundai dealer and Hyundai roadside assistance. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it is currently being serviced for this issue. We have not yet received an update on what caused the issue, but we felt it was important to report it to NHTSA because, if it had happened at a higher speed, it could have resulted in a serious accident and possibly serious injury or death of my pregnant wife and child, who was with her in the car at the time. I can provide any and all updates and documentation I receive from the dealer upon request, and the vehicle can possibly be made available for inspection upon request.Read more

They denied tire replacement, attributing the issue to tire wear. This explanation is not valid. Tires do not develop severe cupping shortly after purchase without an underlying defect such as improper alignment or suspension issues. This condition creates a safety risk: •vibration reduces vehicle stability at highway speeds •uneven wear increases risk of tire failure The issue affects all four tires and was present almost immediately after purchase, indicating a likely manufacturing or setup defect. The problem has been confirmed by multiple service providers but remains unresolved. The vehicle is not safe to operate under normal driving conditions. I am aware that this is a known issue across the Lexus TX lineup and that a related Technical Service Bulletin (L-SB-0013-25) was issued in February 2025 for the GX 550, which shares the same hood construction. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this defect as it affects driver safety and may impact other owners of the 2025 and 2026 Lexus TX 350. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I bought a 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe AWD Calligraphy on April 25, 2026 from Pohanka Hyundai. On April 27, the second row captain's seat on the driver's side folded, pressing my child's chest to his knees. He had his seatbelt on and stated that, even though he tried, he was unable to resist the pressure from the automated collapse/folding feature. While I was in park, a child sitting in the third ro
... w pressed the second row collapse button next to their third row seat. The second row captain's seat with a 60+ lbs. child belted in folded. There were no indications that the seat was moving, no alarms or flashing lights on the driver's dashboard notified me. Had I not gotten out to look for someone, my child would have been folded in that position for the next 30 minutes as we drove from school to our home. I called the dealer on April 27 to ask about the collapse feature and if it should sense the seat is occupied before folding. The person who sold me the vehicle asked that I bring it in on April 29 for a diagnostic because he was not aware of a recall on the Santa Fe Calligraphy. A diagnostic was run on the vehicle on April 29 by Pohanka Hyundai Service Center. They stated that no codes came up and no recalls were reported.Read more

I am reporting a serious safety issue involving a 2017 Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid (VIN: [XXX] ), originally purchased in California. While driving at approximately 70 mph on a highway, the vehicle suddenly lost all propulsion without warning and rapidly decelerated. This created a dangerous situation with surrounding traffic and put me and my family at risk. I had to quickly maneuver to the sh
... oulder to avoid a potential collision. The vehicle was towed to an authorized Hyundai dealership in Utah, where it was diagnosed with a failure of the high-voltage battery system. I was informed that the battery requires replacement. This type of sudden loss of propulsion at highway speed is extremely hazardous and could result in a crash, injury, or fatality. There were no prior warnings indicating an imminent failure of this severity. Given the safety risk associated with unexpected loss of propulsion, I am concerned this may represent a broader issue affecting similar vehicles. The vehicle is equipped with an interior camera, and video of the incident can be provided if needed. I respectfully request that this issue be investigated as a potential safety defect.
