I am filing this complaint to report neglect, unprofessional conduct, and refusal to take responsibility by Jaguar Land Rover Carlsbad during a manufacturer recall service. In December 2024, I took my Range Rover Sport to Land Rover Carlsbad for an N808 powertrain recall. I paid $299 for a diagnostic inspection, and the only issue reported was a diesel exhaust sensor. There was no mention of any
... issues with the oil level sensor, confirming it was fully functional at the time of drop-off. I authorized & paid for the repair of the diesel exhaust sensor repair to be completed during the powertrain repair. Following the recall service, the oil level sensor failed, resulting in a $4,500 repair. Extensive research and technician insight confirm that this recall can damage the oil sensor wiring if handled improperly. I believe the failure was caused during the recall service, especially considering: *No issue was present or diagnosed before the recall work. *Damage occurred immediately after. *Land Rover Carlsbad refuses to accept responsibility AFTER realizing cost Compounding the issue, the vehicle was returned without the windshield wiper housing installed, which I discovered while driving on the freeway at 65 mph with my children in the vehicle, during rainfall. Put our lives at risk. Also the design flaw: location of Oil Level Sensor (refer to NHTSA SSM73239). Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, General Manager Anthony Benfatti refused to take responsibility and told me, “See you in court, I’ll be there with attorneys & expert mechanics.” I am asking NHTSA to investigate the conduct of this dealership and LR design flaw which puts my vehicle at risk fire. LR actions reflect: Negligence in vehicle servicing, failure to honor customer safety, denial of legitimate damage claims, retaliatory and aggressive behavior toward complaints. On [XXX], I was returning to my home in Virginia from Maryland on an 8 lane highway with a 55mph speed limit when I had a very dangerous complete failure of my car. Simultaneously, the car started bucking back, the speed was decelerating regardless of my pressing the accelerator to keep my speed the same as traffic, and I received a flashing large red message that said "CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM - STOP SAFELY." Fortunately I was in the far right lane and was able to veer it over to a narrow shoulder. It was 8pm and getting dark. After a short while, the car lost all power so I was on a narrow shoulder with no lights flashing anymore. I was in this dark car with a lot of traffic speeding my with my 2 dogs. I became incredibly stressed about how we were going to get home. I contacted AAA, a police officer and Uber Pet who worked together in this unsafe situation on the side of the highway to get myself and my dogs home into the Uber vehicle with only the front door opening (no power). While driving in a rainstorm on a highway at 70mph, the windshield wipers quit working and would not restart. This has happened on multiple occasions and the dealer could not recreate the issue. ... e as well as the 65-75mph range ( when shifting into applicable gears) this has gotten worse over the last few weeks. These GM/Ford collaboration transmissions have been faulty from their inception and are well known to start malfunctioning in the 80-120,000 mile range. Please recall these transmissions so that consumers are not faced with thousands of dollars in repairs in vehicles that should last well beyond the short life span of the transmissions. I have been quoted 62-6500.00 for a replacement as there is no rebuilding these transmissions according to the mechanics I have consulted...(some have cited part availability issues as a reason). This has been a well reported problem with these vehicles/ transmissions for years now with many complaints and issues about the faulty transmissions. Just google it. The contact owned a 2007 Dodge Nitro. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V121000 (POWER TRAIN, AIR BAGS, STRUCTURE). The contact stated that while stopped, the sound of an explosion was heard, and the side air bags deployed. The contact believed the vehicle had been struck by another vehicle. The contact suffered injuries to the neck and had issues with his hearing. The

The vehicle was towed to the residence, and then towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the underbody shield was striking the drive shaft while driving. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer advised the contact that a field inspector would be sent to inspect the vehicle. The field inspector inspected the vehicle and the contact was awaiting the results. Vehicle started screeching at a high pitch deafening tone. It terrified me and has made my ears ring and hurt all day....went and had a hearing test done and I now have mild hearing loss...will go back in two weeks to test it again. I pulled over and turned radio and truck off....and it still keep screaming. I disconnected the battery and it also still kept doing it. I drove to the dealership
... while.trying to plug ears shut with fingers.. After a hour there setting up to pay and leave the truck with them, it stopped. I did do the hearing test after it happened because my ears hurt and kept on ringing. I also recorded a video on my phone of the sound that was blasting out. I thought I smelt burning wires but realized later that the sound was way higher than the radio turned all the way up and the smell was coming from all the speakers being pushed over their max decimal compasity.
