The front camera is blacked out about 50% of the time when in reverse or when activating the camera system on my Bronco. I have had it into the dealership multiple times for this issue and they continue to tell me there is a over the air (OTA) fix coming soon. My vehicle is currently in the shop at the local Kia dealership. Over the past week my vehicle has randomly stalled several times. The engine sounded like it was sputtering, and just not accelerating properly. The car would stall at low speeds while turning corners or pulling into a parking spot. I do not have the diagnosis as of yet but believe my vehicle should be considered one of the recalled
... engines due to its date manufactured and the current issues that are occurring. Noticed stalling at speeds 45mph or less. It's very frustrating with a vehicle having 82,000 miles on it. All mandatory maintenance has been done at correct intervals and now this. It needs to be reported.Read more

I am reporting a critical and systemic defect affecting Land Rover vehicles equipped with the 2.0L GTDi turbo petrol engine (240 hp), including my 2015 Evoque, My engine suffered catastrophic failure at ~118,000 miles while driving caused by a premature timing chain or tensioner failure. Pistons & valves collides, cams clashed and wouldn't rotate, loss of compression and dangerously instantaneous
... loss of power/speed/control without warning. The damage required full engine replacement. This significantly increases the risk of crashes & deaths especially at high speeds, traffic congestion, windy roads or hills, night time driving, poor weather conditions. Without warning the driver is helpless without power or ability to move to safety and rear end collision or loss of control is highly likely. Land Rover’s Passport to Service for the 2015 model year does not include timing chain inspection or replacement at any interval—not at 60k, 90k, or even 120k miles. The chain is treated as a “lifetime” component, giving drivers no opportunity to prevent failure. Vehicle had all proper maintenance, recent oil changes at low intervals, and official Land Rover dealership underwent full diagnostics and testing with the conclusion this fault was not user/driver related or to any part myself. Online forums, technician reports, and owner cases show this issue is widespread and recurring across many model years and builds using this engine. The repair is anywhere from 15-20k USD for the evoque (using a reman or new engine). Notably, Land Rover has previously settled class-action lawsuits (e.g., 2012-2014 Lr4 for the or 5.0L V8) where timing chain failures caused major damage—offering full or prorated reimbursement to owners. There are also industry precedents, such as VW/Audi 2.0T engines, in which tensioner defects led to class actions covering engine replacements.Read more

The van was going about 10 mph and the side wall just burst and went to flat right away and tire pressure warning came on. [XXX], the vehicle was delivered to Crain KIA dealership located in Conway, Arkansas, due to failure of engine to start (engine would turn over but not run). I scheduled a service appointment for May 20th at 0930, for the car to be evaluated/troubleshot. While at the KIA dealership service desk, I discussed KIA SAFETY RECALL SC336, and that my VIN# was effected by the recall (verified by speakin
... g with KIA Customer Care representative) and by using NHTSA's VIN/Recall search engine. At that time, I disclosed that the car was a SALVAGE TITLE vehicle, but was restored, looked nearly brand new and was otherwise operational prior to the engine "no start" condition (4 months of ownership). The service team at the dealership confirmed the SALVAGE TITLE via "Carfax", however they noted that KIA's internal VIN/TITLE database DID NOT REFLECT the car as salvaged. Crain Kia dealership then decided to submit the car for KIA's SAFETY RECALL inspection and possibly warranty work since the vehicle has not exceeded the 5yr/60,000 mile limited basic warranty. Unfortunately, the dealership did not open a "tech-line case' until approximately 15 days later. Tech-line communication between the service technician and KIA's engineering/recall rep, directed the dealership to perform an engine wet/dry compression test (due to deficient piston oil-rings). On June 5th, Crain KIA notified me that the resulting 'LOW" compression test results indicated that the piston rings were faulty, and that the engine would need to be replaced. Additionally, they told me that the vehicle would NOT BE ELIGIBLE for factory warranty due to the SALVAGE TITLE and that I would be responsible for engine change costs. Moreover, the dealership's service team charged me for the cost of the compression testing. I have thoroughly reviewed the KIA recall SC336 documentation as well as NHTSA's 25V-099 bulletin and verified that neither notices proclaim, exclude or deny coverage to salvage title vehicles. I am formally submitting a complaint regarding an unresolved recall issue on my Ford Explorer involving the front roof rail covers (pillars). The exact defect outlined in the recall is what I am currently experiencing: the pillars are barely attached and could easily detach while driving, posing a serious safety risk. I am also concerned this defect could compromise the structural integrity of the
... windshield in the event of an accident or even during normal driving conditions. I initially brought my vehicle in for service due to a leak. Rainwater enters the cabin through the area where the pillar is not properly secured. This has resulted in significant water damage and the growth of mold inside the vehicle. Because of this, I have been unable to safely operate my Explorer and have kept it parked in my garage for nearly a year. What is particularly troubling is that Ford continues to manufacture new Explorers, which clearly indicates that the required parts are available. It seems reasonable and necessary for Ford to divert these parts to dealerships and service centers to repair recalled vehicles, particularly when the issue directly impacts safety and vehicle usability. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate Ford’s failure to resolve this recall in a timely manner and hold the manufacturer accountable for providing a safe and functional remedy for affected owners.Read more

The engine system (6.2L V8 L87) in my 2022 GMC Yukon XL failed due to a known manufacturer defect tied to NHTSA Campaign 25V-274. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This is a serious safety concern, and I do not feel safe operating the vehicle in its current con

I have contacted the selling dealership (Rick Hendrick Buick GMC, Duluth, GA) repeatedly for the past three weeks with no returned calls. I also contacted GMC corporate, who confirmed the recall but refused a buyback or replacement because no repair has occurred — even though a fix does not exist. They offered a loyalty voucher that does not come close to addressing the safety risk or impact. The problem has not yet been inspected by a dealer or manufacturer because there is no repair action to take at this time. No police, insurance, or third-party has reviewed the vehicle. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the issue — the problem was revealed when I looked up the VIN and learned of the active recall on the engine. I am requesting NHTSA’s support to ensure General Motors provides a replacement vehicle and compensation for this ongoing and unresolved safety hazard. While trying to get information, I was, at one point, told that "although the code indicates failed transmission control module, it doesn't happen all the time and if I wanted to drive it I could come and take it until the part arrives." That really told me alot about how GM representatives view SAFETY while when it happened, I was on Interstate and nearly got trounced by oncoming heavy traffic while pulling an equipment trailer. Vehicle Make/Model/Year: 2019 Acura MDX Component Affected: Forward Collision Avoidance / Lane Departure / ADAS (Front Camera System) Summary of Issue: I am filing this complaint regarding a recurring and dangerous issue involving the front windshield-mounted camera on our 2019 Acura MDX. After purchasing this vehicle and driving approximately 5500 miles in Las Vegas, multiple critical safety wa
... rnings began appearing on the dashboard, including: •“Collision Mitigation System Problem” •“Road Departure Mitigation System Problem” •“Lane Keeping Assist Problem” •“Adaptive Cruise Control Problem” These warnings occur continuosly. The warning lights won’t turn off, resulting in the complete shutdown of essential Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Safety Concerns: This camera-related failure disables major safety features designed to prevent accidents. The driver is left without automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, or adaptive cruise control. This is especially dangerous at highway speeds. Acura has not issued a recall, despite the widespread nature of this problem and documented cases in other hot-weather regions. Service Experience: We purchased the vehicle used from a Cadillac dealership. The issue began approximately 3 months after purchase. A mechanic confirmed that the front camera system is likely malfunctioning due to heat exposure—a known problem with this model. Why I’m Reporting: I believe this is a safety defect that should prompt investigation. Acura appears to have issued Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) but has not taken action to proactively notify owners or issue a recall. This defect compromises driver and passenger safety and puts others at risk.Read more

My 2021 Toyota Highlander, purchased with 16k miles, has a leak in the AC system in the rear of the vehicle (as of May 2025, at 3 years 10 months into the vehicle's service, with 28k miles). This pipe runs the length of the car and costs $2000-$3000 to repair. This was confirmed at an independent service center that used leak detection dye to identify the problem. I am finding multiple reports
... of people having this problem in young Toyota vehicles (<4 years old) and with low miles. I believe this is a design flaw and not indicative of normal corrosion, as the vehicle does not exhibit corrosion elsewhere in the under carriage.Read more
