On 05/27/2025, my rear back-up camera started to malfunction. Last week my dash started to malfunction electronically. My dash stated that I had low tire pressure, that I was having problems with my traction control, that my BSD system was not working, that my ABS was not working, that my emergency brake was on even though it was not. It also stated that I did have functioning air bags, which is a severe safety hazard in the chance that I could've gotten into a wreck and they might not have worked. It also stated that I was not in Drive even though I clearly was. It also stated that I had no power steering while I was driving, before the light would turn off and I could properly steer again. This is a severe safety issue that could put me at risk. Finally, my check engine light turned on and stayed on. Yesterday on 06/09/2025 I was able to take it a vehicle maintenance shop so they could run a full diagnostic test. They discovered that I did not have power steering even though there was fluid due to the electrical problems with my dash. They also discovered the C-CAN buss was off and that my vehicle was losing communications with the TCM and HVAC. It was discovered that this was due to my rear view back-up camera malfunctioning, causing the C-CAN network to short out. They had to unplug my rear back-up camera to return everything to normal. I have found on hyundai recall forms that other years of hyundai models had similar problems and I believe that 2018 hyundai sonatas are also having the same problem. After four years of owning this vehicle purchased new, the passenger side seatbelt warning light came on the dash. It indicated the seatbelt was not buckled while no one was sitting in the passenger seat. When buckled the light went out. Brought it to the attention of Nissan, Service every year when they would clear the code and it would be good for a month or two, and the light would come back on
... like before. Last month on May 9, I brought the vehicle in again and asked for a thorough assessment. Nissan service said to make the light go out they would have to replace two passenger side occupancy sensors, totaling $1800 parts and labor. They did not have the parts on hand, I left with the vehicle only to find out that the intermittent seatbelt light that would go out when buckled, stayed on continuous now. Also noticed the illuminated airbag light stating the airbag was off. And that was also on at all times whether someone was in the passenger seat or not. When purchasing the vehicle new we also purchased a gold preferred extended warranty, that I believed would cover these parts. But Nissan, consumer affair said the the warranty will not cover those items. After a month of trying to get Nissan, service and consumer affairs to work with me, still no help. Searching online I found Nissan, has had numerous issues and even some recalls with occupancy sensors in the seats of many vehicles. I pay a very high interest rate and very high monthly payments 523 a month is expensive let alone expensive to pay for a vehicle that I constantly have to put in maintenance and now my engine is gone my VIN number somehow is not on regards to the recall but yet my VIN number has been on every recall Hyundai has ever given out when it comes to my vehicle as the GDI 3.3 l should be really considered on regards to a recall as well as the 2.4. All the associated warnings are on dash, diagnosed at local Honda dealership with code u 3006-16. Advised multi camera failure and requested $1600 to repair. Immediate after I am now getting a transmission warning problem on dash.

Driving vehicle at highway speed, engine RPMs dropped to less than 1500, could not maintain any speed, CEL illuminated. As soon as vehicle was pull to side of road, it would no longer run. There is a recall on models in this year but not the one I currently have. While driving on the highway my advancetrac warning lit up, the roads where dry and the was nothing to indicate why this was happening. ... y bump I experienced allowed for the car to be redireced even with two hands on the wheel. Once I made it off the highway to my destination I received three warning messages one system fault, one power steering service and one advancetrac. At this point when turning the car off and back on again the steering wheel became hard to turn. The red power steering message popped up again along with the advancetrac message. Because this issue happened while the car was in motion I find it hard to believe that this model is not apart of the recall. Now I have to foot the bill along with feeling like at any moment I could have crashed and lost my life during my time driving on the highway. My only hope for writing this is to ensure another look at the 2013 models that were not included in this recall so that other lives can be saved. I would not have a problem allowing this issue to be inspected. My safety and those along the highway were in danger because I could have lost control of the vehicle. The problem still remains, I have set an appointment for this issue. This happened 6/5/25. The warnings first appeared while driving the vehicle.Read more

NHTSA I own a 2021 Nissan Titan. I am deeply concerned that I have defective Air Bags. I have had 2 collisions in my vehicle at high rates of speed and none deployed either time. I now fear that this vehicle will not protect me in the unfortunate case of another collision. I do understand they will not deploy under every condition, but I do expect additional protection outside of a seatbelt i
... n a collision at a high rate of speed. In the first Collision, I was going 45 MPH. I had injuries to my neck and back. I had extensive work done to the suspension, drivers door, headlight, fender, bumper, grill, and the hood. In my second collision, a deer ran into my truck while I was traveling at 70 MPH. The head of the deer damaged the headlight and wiring harness, the bumper, grill, and hood and its body heavily damaged my passenger front door and fender. My passenger rear door also had some damage. No injuries occurred but the impacts should have caused a deployment. I am aware that there was a Recall on 2021 & 2024 Titans about the air bags having a delayed or failed deployment however I received no letter from this, neither is this in any of my printed service records. I would like Nissan to inspect my air bag system to see if there’s a defect that is causing them not to deploy or to make sure that my Titan was not missed in the group of trucks that had this defect, that way the recall can be extended to more 2021 Titans. I am in fear to drive this truck due to the fact that it may not protect me in the case of another accident. I am ready to purchase another Titan and have been loyal to the Nissan brand after owning 4 Altimas, 1 Armada, and soon to be 2 Titans.Read more

I am reporting a serious safety concern involving my 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, which has experienced multiple hybrid system shutdowns while driving. This includes repeated complete power loss incident on I-90 beginning in June 2022, when my daughter was driving home after her hospital shift. The vehicle displayed a “Hybrid System Warning – Turn Off Engine” message and had to be pushed off

This was the first of several hybrid-related failures that culminated in a full engine replacement under warranty at 82,015 miles — and now, the same hybrid system warning has returned at 127,592 miles, well within Hyundai’s 150,000-mile hybrid warranty. Hyundai is currently denying coverage. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate repeated hybrid system faults and warranty denial patterns in Korean-manufactured Sonata Hybrids.Read more

Purchased New Delivery date: August 13, 2024 This is an ongoing issue, car indicates radar needs cleaning. Each time I pull off road to check radar no such cleaning is needed, it's clean. Once the car indicates that the radar needs cleaning I loose multiple functions, cruise control, lane assist etc. Attached picture
