Rear passenger door latch no longer latches. The broken pawl spring tab in the door latch causes the door to not be able to close and stay closed. I see recalls for Ford Escapes up to 2016. It has not been inspected by a dealer No warning lamps or any other indicators before it broke. I shut the door and heard a crack sound. I inspected the latch myself and see a part is broken off.

Dear NHTSA, On [XXX] at [XXX] CST, my 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL experienced a sudden ICCU failure. While reversing into my driveway, I heard a loud “pop,” followed by warning messages: “Stop vehicle and check power supply” and “Check electric vehicle system.” A DTC scan showed code P1A90(96). The car became inoperable and had to be towed to a Hyundai dealership. The dealer confirmed I
... CCU failure and replaced both the ICCU and fuse on 6/17/2025. However, the replacement was not a redesigned part—it was the same model that failed. I purchased this vehicle in March 2025 as a Certified Pre-Owned with ~12,000 miles. All recall-related ICCU updates had been completed before this incident. There were no warning signs before the failure. This failure could have been dangerous had it occurred on a highway, in extreme weather, or far from help with my [XXX] daughter with me. I no longer feel safe driving this car. Hyundai’s recall remedy is clearly not effective, and they continue replacing defective ICCUs with the same flawed units. They have not disclosed the root cause or implemented a permanent fix. I urge NHTSA to: Investigate ongoing ICCU failures despite recall compliance. Mandate a stop-sale of affected vehicles until a real fix is found. Require Hyundai to disclose the root cause. Consider a buyback program if no safe solution is available. I believe that these loose and missing nuts and bolts need to be addressed by the manufacturer of the RV (Entegra Motorcoach), as they are a critical component in attaching the anti-sway bar to the endlink.Read more

The automatic transmission in my 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 4.3L V6 has experienced repeated failures and overheating events starting shortly after a scheduled dealer transmission flush at approximately 50,000 miles. Since then, the transmission has slipped under load, failed to shift properly, and routinely overheated—reaching over 270°F—without triggering a dashboard warning or
... entering limp mode. Multiple dealer visits confirmed internal transmission damage, including discolored fluid, metal shavings, and torque converter clutch failure. The entire transmission and torque converter were replaced under warranty, along with a redesigned bypass valve. Despite these efforts, the transmission failed again, showing further signs of overheating and debris in the fluid. The vehicle has been inspected and serviced multiple times by the dealership (Karl Chevrolet in Iowa) and GM warranty contractors. The issue persists even after complete transmission replacement. This condition poses a safety risk as loss of power and unexpected gear disengagement occurred during normal road use, including highway driving and towing. Transmission temperatures spiking well beyond GM’s Dexron VI fluid thermal limits raise further concerns about systemic cooling design flaws. Warning signs included high transmission fluid temperatures (over 270°F), RPM surging, harsh downshifts, slipping, poor throttle response, and delayed engagement from park to drive. The manufacturer has been notified, and the issue has been documented with the Attorney General of Iowa. A GM case number was also opened, but no permanent fix has been offered.Read more

... t recent service report from Audi Bethesda (Repair Order [XXX], dated May 9, 2025), it was discovered that the incorrect brake pad sensor had previously been installed and that connectors were not properly secured. Additionally, the repair team found further issues with the ABS sensor and rear brake pad sensors—indicating an ongoing pattern of misdiagnosis and improper installation by authorized service providers. More concerning is the failure of the vehicle’s fuel system, including the fuel pump and filter, which were replaced at considerable expense. According to the repair documentation, there were still unresolved low fuel pressure faults present even after parts replacement. The technicians cited potential metal contamination in the fuel meter valve (N290), which could require full fuel system replacement—an unacceptable situation for a vehicle that has already undergone such costly repairs. This is utterly ridiculous and needs to be resolved asap. It has been continual issues from May 30th, 2023 through current date (June 19th, 2025). My backup camera doesn't always work and when it does there is a delay seeing the image. I get a warning sign on my SYNC screen saying the camera is not available and to contact the dealership. I have contacted the dealership and the said I needed to contact Ford. They have since directed me to NHTSA.
