Kia proceeded with an independent investigation and later concluded that the cause was “undetermined” and that the fire originated in the engine compartment but could not determine the cause, which was likely due to the severe fire damage, per their own report. I have since been informed that USAA pursued subrogation against Kia, contrary to Kia’s recent claims. A letter of preservation was also sent to USAA following the incident to ensure the vehicle would remain in its post-fire condition. This was done to safeguard the integrity of the vehicle for investigative purposes. Following Kia’s refusal to assist, I was advised to explore reimbursement through other means, including the ongoing class action settlement related to this engine defect. I submitted a claim through that process but was ultimately denied due to a lack of “proof” that the fire was caused by the recall. However, my vehicle was so severely damaged in the fire that no conclusive cause could be determined , a point even Kia acknowledged in their own post-fire report, which stated the cause was “undetermined” but that the fire originated in the engine compartment. Trusting them enough not to get the name of the gentleman I spoke with was my mistake. I have contacted Tesla corporate customer service, Tesla corporate sales support and the Council bluffs delivery center after I noticed the discrepancy between what was actually on the vehicle and what the Monroney disclosure stated. I have requested the full self driving capability that is listed on the Monroney sticker with the VIN attached to the car I purchased be added to the vehicle to match their disclosure under the “as configured” section of the sticker. I was told by corporate sales support in California that it would be added to the vehicle because of their mistake. I noticed it had been added to the wrong vehicle (we have 2 teslas). I contacted customer service and they directed me to council,bluffs. Preston Sherwood told me he suggested leaving it on the wrong vehicle, just cancel the monthly subscription and subscribe on the correct vehicle. So I did just that and my paid subscription expired yesterday on the wrong vehicle and the option went away. Reported incident to insurance agent in the event of a subsequent damage claim by other drivers. Tire was inspected by ** Tire and confirmed tread had indeed de laminated from tire core. Clear failure of factory tire mounted on factory wheels with no suspension or drive train modifications. Vehicle was totally stock at time of the incident. The safety of the other drivers on the road could have been significantly impacted had the tread hit their windshield or front tire. The violence of the tire separation was similar to an impact with large road debris. The vehicle suffered significant damage to the drivers side truck bed, bumper, sensors and wheel-well. Local tire company confirmed failure mode of tire. Vehicle had received required annual NC State safety inspection, by certified inspection station, including tires on April 30, 2025. Key safety/legal concerns: • My vehicle was returned on May 31, 2025, with dangerously low coolant, just days after engine replacement—posing a critical safety risk. • The service manager dismissed my concerns until I insisted, then acted with open disrespect. • Repairs were withheld May 19–28 unless I paid $1,833.77, despite warranty coverage. Only after I came in person on May 28 did they reverse and offer free service. • I was charged $580.97 for a diagnostic test tied to a manufacturer defect that led to engine replacement—still not refunded. • The pattern of neglect, retaliation, and deception from both the dealer and Kia America endangers drivers and violates federal safety standards. I have a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ. 5.3 Ecotrac 8 transmission with 89,000 miles. I bought it used and have had it 12 months, but only drove it 9 before it malfunctioned causing severe electrical & mechanical problems. ... This caused the emissions. transmission, & throttle to shut down Truck would not shift out of low gear. It would shift to park but did not recognize it was in park which kept the accessory on running down the battery, the tail gate would not open, and the information system shut down. I got sick and was in the hospital for 5 weeks, the truck was vandalized. The body repair shop took it to the chevrolet dealership in long beach to have it inspected. I did not tell them the vehicle had malfunctioned, throwing code U0101 and another code. I wanted the dealer to find the problem, the truck had not been driven since it was parked from the malfunction. All they came back with was I had a burnt cylinder and would be 9000 to fix due to maintenance, we maintained this truck changing the oil every 3000 miles with Castoroil synthetic oil, regularly checking and maintaining transmission, brake , all-fluids. Supposedly they ran a diagnostic, if they did they would have found these warnings and that main code U0101 would have showed up. When it happened Onstar ran the diagnostic and told me to take it immediately to a dealership. That dash should have lit up like a christmas tree that’s how many light were going off. The dealership never said a thing about these lights. Now i’ve read where Chevy had a problem with the EPB and only put them on this model from 2019 to 2022 because of this. I found on other sites recalls that included what happened to my truck, but not in your web sight. There was major design and manufacturing flaw with this model and year. This unpredictability is unacceptable for any vehicle-especially one marked as a safe, family-friendly hybrid. These critical safety failures began shortly after the recall involving the vehicle's battery.
