Vehicle brought to Tesla Service Plano TX for front-end rattle on bumpy roads at 49,951 miles. Technician found right front compliance arm split, left front compliance arm tearing, right front aft link starting to wear, left front aft link split at bushing, rear bolt for link loose, and opposite side nut separated from the subframe causing bolt to have zero tension. Tesla replaced entire front sub
... frame assembly, both front lower lateral links, and both front lower compliance links under Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty. During the same visit, the technician performed a Vehicle Health Check (form SC-25-00-016 R2) and documented additional rear suspension defects: rear lower fore links have play and rear upper fore link bushings have excessive travel. Technician marked the suspension section as Repair/Replace. Service center declined warranty coverage on the rear, calling it normal wear despite the technician's findings. This is the second major warranty visit. At 14,928 miles in September 2024, Tesla Austin replaced the Power Conversion System, 16V Li-Ion battery, and pyrotechnic battery disconnect due to a loose harness connector causing vehicle shutdown warnings. Vehicle was manufactured at Tesla Gigafactory Austin TX. A separated subframe nut is a structural safety defect that could result in wheel alignment shift and loss of vehicle control. I drove this vehicle with my family including two children before the defect was discovered. SUBJECT: URGENT COMPLAINT: Deceptive Practices/Misrepresentation & Services Not Rendered (Woodhouse Ford of Omaha) I. Actionable Safety Issue Summary This complaint concerns fraudulent billing and dangerous misrepresentation by Woodhouse Ford of Omaha, which claimed a vehicle's 3rd rack and pinion system was "safe" on 2/19/2026 after a known safety issue, following a previous failure. They further
... charged $219.22 for unrendered/improper ABS programing repairs that was not successful because the electric rack and pinion is defective on 3/5/2026 and fabricated invoice records to shift liability. II. Parties Involved •Consumer: [XXX] •Dealer/Service Provider: Woodhouse Ford of Omaha, Service Manager Jeremy Sullivan, Technician Anthony Rubio. •Financial Institution: First National Bank of Omaha (Regulated by OCC). III. Nature of the Dispute 1.Safety Hazard/Misrepresentation (2/19/2026): Service Manager Jeremy Sullivan and Tech Anthony Rubio stated the vehicle’s rack and pinion was "safe" despite a prior failure. This misrepresentation has left me with a vehicle that has had the rack and pinion fail or require replacement three times in under a year. 2.Services Not Rendered (3/5/2026): Charged $219.22 for "programming the ABS module" which was not rendered or not performed correctly. 3.Fabricated Documentation: Woodhouse Ford created fraudulent service invoices stating I diagnosed the ABS fault and declined further diagnosis. This is an attempt to evade liability for ongoing, dangerous defects. IV. Regulatory Violations & Requested Action The described actions violate consumer protection laws, including: •Dodd-Frank UDAAP (12 USC § 5536): Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices. •Fair Credit Billing Act (15 USC § 1666): Billing error/services not received. •Regulation E (12 CFR 1005.11): Procedures for resolving errors. Requested Action: Initiate an investigation into Woodhouse Ford of Omaha’s service practices and safety diagnostics. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA),Read more

I received an official recall notice from Mercedes-Benz regarding my EQB due to a defect involving the high-voltage battery system. According to the recall notice, the battery may experience an internal failure that could potentially result in a fire while the vehicle is either parked or being driven. Mercedes-Benz has also advised owners to limit charging and park the vehicle outside due to the s
... everity of the safety risk. At this time, Mercedes-Benz has not provided a permanent repair remedy or battery replacement. Because I no longer feel safe driving or storing the vehicle, I have left it at the dealership and am currently using a loaner vehicle while attempting to reach a fair and reasonable resolution with Mercedes-Benz. Given the serious safety concerns associated with this recall and the lack of an available repair, I do not believe the current offer being presented by Mercedes-Benz adequately resolves the situation. During my first conversation with Mercedes, I was clearly told that I had two options: trade into another lease or have Mercedes repurchase the vehicle at no cost to me. At no point during that initial conversation was I told that repurchase was unlikely or subject to higher-level approval. $7,500 does not address the core issue, which is that I am still left in a lease for a vehicle I do not feel safe driving or storing. This is fundamentally a safety and usability issue, not simply a financial inconvenience. I am simply asking Mercedes to stand behind its product and provide a reasonable resolution for a leased vehicle that has been deemed subject to a serious fire-risk recall without a current repair remedy.Read more

The vehicle experienced a sudden and repeated malfunction of the hybrid/electrical system and powertrain, resulting in the vehicle becoming inoperable. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and is available for inspection upon request. While driving in traffic, multiple warning messages appeared, including "Hybrid System Malfunction," "Charging System Malfunction," "Engine Malfunction," "Bra
... ke" and "i-ACTIVSENSE System Malfunction." The vehicle lost functionality and could not operate normally, creating a dangerous situation in active traffic. I was forced to slowly maneuver the vehicle to the shoulder after several restart attempts. This issue has been reproduced multiple times. The vehicle has previously been inspected and repaired by an authorized dealership, including recent repairs (12V battery and engine mounts). Despite these repairs, the same critical malfunction occurred again shortly after the vehicle was returned as repaired. The vehicle is currently being inspected again by the dealership. The issue has not yet been permanently resolved. Prior to the failure, the vehicle had a history of similar warning messages and abnormal behavior beginning at approximately 20,000 miles. These issues have continued intermittently despite multiple repair attempts. The repeated failures, including the most recent incident, indicate an ongoing unresolved defect that creates a significant safety concern. This issue is a continuation of a previously reported complaint (NHTSA Report No. 11734505).Read more

Compounded Electrical Failures In addition to the battery defect, this specific vehicle has exhibited recurring electrical malfunctions, including: Total failure of the backup cameras and parking sensors. Intermittent failure of the HVAC system (Air Conditioning), critical in the Florida climate. Erratic Autonomous Braking: The vehicle has repeatedly engaged emergency braking while reversing witho
... ut cause, nearly resulting in multiple collisions. Diminished Utility and Breach of Lease Expectations The "interim" instructions provided by Mercedes-Benz have fundamentally altered the vehicle’s functionality from the terms established at the start of my lease: Charge Limitation: The "MUST NOT exceed 80%" mandate reduces the vehicle's range and utility, failing to meet the deliverable of a fully functional EV. Parking Restrictions: The requirement to park outside for fear of a garage fire is an unreasonable burden that violates the expected use of a luxury vehicle. Failure to Remedy within a Reasonable Time (49 U.S.C. § 30120) Under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, specifically 49 U.S.C. § 30120(c)(2), a manufacturer’s failure to remedy a defect within 60 days of a vehicle being presented or a notice being issued constitutes prima facie evidence of a failure to remedy within a reasonable time. The notice for Recall 26V073 was issued in March 2026. As of today, May 11, 2026, more than 60 days have passed without an actionable remedy or a definitive timeline for repair. I picked it up for a test drive and the frontal collision warning came on intermittently along with a warning that automatic wipers would not work. I took it back. While at the dealership they reported to me that it developed additional issues and would not shift into gear. It is still at the dealership in Pine Bluff AR.Read more

Drivers are told to prioritize safe driving, yet missin
... g a retest while actively navigating traffic can result in lockouts, violations, and costly penalties. That puts drivers in an impossible position: either divert attention from the road to complete a test or prioritize safety and risk punishment. In my situation, I missed a test while focused on driving safely, yet every completed test throughout the day showed a 0.00 BAC. Clearly, alcohol was not the issue. The issue was being penalized for choosing road safety during a high-stress traffic situation. Because of that missed test, I have a lockout and required to bring the device in for service and pay an additional $40 fee, despite having no alcohol violations whatsoever. What is especially concerning is that we already recognize distracted driving as a major public safety issue. Laws across the country heavily penalize cell phone use behind the wheel because taking a driver’s focus off the road is dangerous. Yet rolling retests can create that same type of distraction by demanding immediate driver attention during active traffic situations. The current system can also financially burden drivers who are actively trying to comply and make responsible decisions behind the wheel. There should be safer and more practical policies that prioritize public safety without punishing drivers for avoiding distracted driving in dangerous traffic conditions.Read more

My 2021 Tesla Model Y HW3 experienced complete failure of all cameras, GPS, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Adaptive Cruise Control following the installation of software update 2026.8.6.1 — the OTA remedy update issued by Tesla for NHTSA Recall 26V283000. The vehicle was fully functional prior to this update. The failure was confirmed and reproduced by Tesla's authorized service center. The s
... ervice advisor confirmed in writing: "During the update, the computer failed to reboot properly. We attempted to perform a 12V reset but unfortunately it is still stuck in the boot loop state." The Autopilot ECU (Primary/Turbo A) is stuck in a permanent boot loop and cannot be recovered by software means. Safety impact: All cameras including rearview camera are completely non-functional. Automatic Emergency Braking and all ADAS features are disabled. The vehicle cannot safely detect obstacles or pedestrians. GPS navigation is frozen. Tesla has confirmed the computer requires replacement but is classifying it as a customer-pay repair citing expired warranty, despite the failure occurring during Tesla's own recall remedy software deployment. This vehicle meets every technical criterion of Recall 26V283000 — HW3 hardware, 2021 Model Y, software version 2026.8.6.1, complete camera failure — but does not appear in the recall VIN database. I am requesting NHTSA review whether this VIN should be included in recall 26V283000 or a related investigation.Read more
