Subject: Known Carbon Buildup Issue in 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan TSI – Request for Recall and Accountability To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my concern and request action regarding a well-documented and dangerous issue affecting Volkswagen TSI engines—specifically, severe carbon buildup. I am the current owner of a 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan TSI, which I purchased in April 2
... 025 with approximately 84,000 miles on it. In June 2025, I had to have the intake manifold replaced due to carbon buildup—a repair that was still covered under warranty. However, shortly after, I was informed that the vehicle now requires a full engine decarb and replacement of all four fuel injectors, at a total cost of $3,296. This raises several serious concerns: •Carbon buildup this severe at such low mileage is not typical wear and tear. It indicates a design flaw in the TSI direct-injection engine. •My extended warranty provider refuses to cover the repair, citing that it is a maintenance issue—conveniently shifting the responsibility away from the manufacturer. •This type of engine failure can result in dangerous performance issues, including: •Sudden engine misfires •Loss of power while accelerating •Poor fuel economy •Stalling or hesitation while merging or turning •Catalytic converter damage •Potential long-term engine failure I am stunned that this is not considered a safety issue worthy of recall, especially given the number of reports online and in service centers regarding this exact problem. The symptoms of carbon buildup can easily result in on-road danger to the driver and others. What’s most disheartening is that Volkswagen has long been aware of this flaw, yet no recall or extended warranty has been offered for affected consumers. I previously owned a 2015 Passat and was a loyal VW owner—but now, as a single mother, I am expected to pay nearly $3,300 for a repair tied to poor engineering and design, not misuse or neglect.Read more

My vehicle was recalled under N252494002 L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion. The car was taken to the dealership June 19, 2025 and determined to require a engine replacement. The dealer has had the vehicle for a month without repair of the vehicle. This seems like an unreasonable time to replace the engine.

I was driving my 2022 GMC 2500 HD (not towing, just normal drive) after an oil change <900 miles ago and new brakes/rotors 3 days prior <100 miles (total mileage 81,000, serviced exclusively at GMC dealership) when the loss of power alert flashed on the screen. I was 2 miles from my destination, going approx 55mph, so I kept driving to destination, when the vehicle stalled in driveway. As I was
... scrolling through menus to see the alert I looked up and smoke and flames were coming out of the engine. I attempted to extinguish with a fire extinguisher I had with me, but it was no use. The entire engine was engulfed, melting out, tires and windshield exploded from heat etc. Total loss. Vehicle was inspected by insurance co fire investigator, no origin confirmed due to extent of damage. Vehicle was offered to GMC for their inspection as it was partially under OEM warranty and I had an extended warranty from dealership, which I also notified. Extended would not do anything without the vehicle at GMC and diagnosis, which again, there is no engine etc so not repairable. GMC was to be in contact with insurance co. Vehicle: 2025 Honda CR-V Sport-L Hybrid Date of Purchase: April 2025 Date Problem First Noticed: April 2025 Complaint Summary: I purchased a brand new 2025 Honda CR-V Sport-L Hybrid in April 2025. Since the day I brought the vehicle home, I have noticed a persistent clanking or metal-on-metal noise coming from the rear of the vehicle, especially noticeable when driving over minor bumps or rough
... pavement at low to moderate speeds. This issue was reported to the dealer, and in June 2025, they attempted a repair by replacing the rear shock absorber and a rear rod assembly. However, the noise returned within weeks, and by mid-July 2025, it has become significantly worse. Now, the clanking sound is loud and alarming, resembling something coming loose or at risk of falling off. It has reached the point where I feel unsafe driving the vehicle, especially on highways or interstates. I am concerned that a suspension or structural component may fail, potentially leading to a loss of control or an accident. The fact that this issue has persisted despite repairs and is worsening raises serious concerns about the safety and structural integrity of the rear suspension system on this model. --- Additional Notes: The noise occurs whether the vehicle is loaded or empty. It is especially pronounced when driving over uneven roads, minor bumps, or potholes. I have checked the cargo area for loose items—this is clearly a mechanical issue. The service team initially acknowledged the issue and attempted a fix, but the recurrence suggests either a design flaw or improper rear component durability. Given that other owners have reported similar noises and rear-end suspension issues on owner forums, I believe this may not be an isolated case. --- ⚠️ Safety Concern: Due to the intensity of the noise and the sensation that rear components may detach, I no longer feel confident driving the vehicle at highway speeds. This poses a serious safety hazard to myself.Read more

I’m filing this complaint regarding my 2022 GMC Yukon Denali (VIN: [XXX] , MSRP ~$76,805) with an unresolved L87 engine recall. I made an appointment at my local GMC dealership on 5/8/25 specifically for the L87 recall. Upon arrival, staff only documented the Serial Data Gateway Module recall, which I hadn’t even known about. When I mentioned the 6.2L engine, I was asked if I was “sure.”
... I believe I was treated dismissively because I’m a woman. After pushing back, staff pulled up the bulletin, confirmed my engine needed replacement, and told me to “drive it until it blows up or there’s a fix, whichever comes first.” The L87 was only added to my receipt after I insisted—it was falsely listed as an “added operation,” though it was the reason I came in. I sent a certified letter to GM on 5/12/25 (signed for on 5/15/25) confirming the date I tendered the vehicle. Both GM and the dealer were fully aware the 60-day federal repair window had begun. It is now well past that deadline, and the L87 recall remains unresolved. Compounding the issue, the AC failed on [XXX], and the vehicle has been parked since early June due to extreme KY heat, making it unsafe to drive my children. I rely on this vehicle for daily commuting—driving ~100 miles/day for work—and it is also the only vehicle we own capable of towing our family boat, which has now sat unused all summer. I am currently paying $1,000/mo for the Yukon, $600/mo for the boat, and $200/mo for insurance—$1,800/month in preventable financial losses caused by GM’s failure to act. No repair has been offered. No loaner vehicle has been provided. No response has been received. I believe I was misled and discriminated against at the dealership, and I am now financially burdened and without a safe, reliable vehicle. This situation qualifies under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act for repurchase, compensation, or forced resolution. I am requesting a formal investigation and full remedy. I was driving my 2023 Kia Niro PHEV into my garage after running an errand, going very slowly. Suddenly the vehicle--all on its own--surged forward, slammed into the rear wall (triggering air bags), ricocheted backward across the street, and struck a neighbor's fence. I received a settlement check from my insurance company, but I am out-of-pocket for the deductible, costs relating to getting a new vehicle, and of course the pain and suffering. I was told there was an event data recorder (EDR) on the vehicle, and my insurance adjuster will tell me what it reveals (I hope). There was no warning of any kind that this was about to happen. I was fortunate that it happened where it did; had I been driving the vehicle on the street, I could have killed someone (including myself).Read more

... he way home. It was terrifying. I took the car to Lexus and they told me that this can happen on steep grades. They wanted to turn the rotors and I insisted they be replaced due to being defective and causing this shaking at such low miles. They agreed. A month later, after having brand new rotors and pads, the same thing happened again. Again I immediately made an appointment and the vehicle was inspected. They told me this time there are hot spots all over these new rotors, from this one trip to Nashville. They told me there was nothing else they could do. I opened a case with Lexus corporate and they just reached out. They spoke to the dealership and concluded that this happened because of normal driving conditions. They are saying this is normal! It’s not normal. I explained the many brands of vehicles we have had and driven this same interstate many times without issue. This is unsafe. People that drive in mountain areas should not need brake repair every few thousand miles. And what if someone is driving in a very mountain area like the Rockies and one trip across the state could completely destroy these brakes? So scary. They need brakes to handle higher heat to protect families using this car. I am shocked this is not recalled already. I pray there is something to be done to get this fixed immediately. The incident for the second incident was just 4 weeks after the first one, but we had to wait for them to get us an appointment.Read more

This was heard all the way inside a church and they came running out. If I had not been able to gain control it w
... ould have flipped. The vehicle is available for inspection. It has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service other than the tow truck attendant telling me that the car need to be junk because it could not be repaired. The component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, or insurance company as it only has liability insurance. A police officer did show up on seen to direct traffic around vehicle and did see the issue but no report was taken. There was absolutely no indication that this was an issue until a few seconds before it snapped and that was the wheel started to wobble.Read more

THE SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON, BUT IT GOES OFF SOMETIMES WHEN I RESTART. EVERY TIME I ASK SOMEONE TO CHECK IT OUT, THEY SAY THERE'S NOTHING TO SEE UNLESS IT IS ON. I DON'T WANT THIS TO CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT WHEN IT IS NOT ON ALL THE TIME. I HAVE A PICTURE OF IT AND I AM STILL REFUSED SERVICE FOR IT.

My 2022 Hyundai Palisade has repeatedly shut off while coming to a stop. The vehicle stalls unexpectedly, dashboard lights illuminate as if the vehicle is being restarted, and the gear sometimes shifts into neutral. I have to manually restart the car to resume driving. This issue has occurred multiple times under normal driving conditions—both when the Idle Stop & Go (ISG) system is enabled and
... disabled. The frequency of these stalls has increased, and they present a dangerous situation, especially at intersections or during heavy traffic. After researching online, I found that numerous 2020–2022 Palisade owners have reported the same symptoms. Many of them were told by their dealers that an ECU and/or TCU software update was needed. This suggests a broader systemic issue with the vehicle’s powertrain management system, which should warrant further investigation. As of now, no recall has been issued, but this is a recurring issue that poses a risk to driver and passenger safety. Hyundai has not officially acknowledged a recall or permanent fix, but affected vehicles are being patched with software updates at the dealer level.Read more

The dangerous behavior occurs only when the truck is in four-wheel-drive. Two behaviors: One:Low range. Ascending up a steep dirt road without warning truck shifted into neutral and got stuck there. Shifting into reverse drive or park did not take it out of neutral. The steering and brakes worked. The four-wheel-drive, low and four-wheel-drive high indicatorlights were blinking simultaneously. Th
... is behavior persisted after turning the truck off and on again. I had to back down a switchback dirt road. Eventually, I thought to disconnect the battery and reconnect it which corrected the behavior and put the truck back to normal. I no longer use this truck in four-wheel-drive low. I am having the truck looked at by a second dealer service department to try to diagnose this problem. 2: the second abnormal, behavior occurs in four-wheel-drive low, first gear heading downhill using the engine compression for braking. The truck will without warning shift into 2 Wheel Dr. high range, and the four-wheel-drive, low and four-wheel-drive high indicator lights blink simultaneously. This behavior is corrected by turning the engine off and then on again.Read more

While test driving a 2017 RAM 3500 6.7L Cummins diesel at Cherry Hill Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, both the check engine light and the regen warning light came on simultaneously. I returned to the dealership, looked up the regen warning, then retrieved my BlueDriver OBD2 scanner from my own vehicle. I scanned the truck on-site and ran live data. The scan confirmed the diese
... l particulate filter (DPF) was 100% full, and the regeneration system was not functioning. Permanent fault code P242F was stored, and the exhaust backpressure reading was over 25 PSI at idle — indicating a severely blocked system. These faults were not disclosed by the dealership, and no inspection or documentation from a diesel technician was available. I later discovered the truck also has an open safety recall (Manufacturer Recall Number: C4B / NHTSA Recall Number: 24V-896) for a potential failure of the Brake Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU). This recall involves the loss of ABS, Electronic Stability Control, and Traction Control, and the recall status is listed as incomplete with no remedy available as of the test date. I offered to purchase the truck for $35,000 out-the-door on the condition that the emissions system was repaired and certified. The salesperson spoke with the manager, then returned and told me the vehicle was no longer for sale. I then overheard the manager say they planned to wholesale the vehicle, likely without disclosing these active safety and emissions system failures. I am filing this report to ensure the vehicle is flagged for unresolved safety and emissions violations before it is sold or auctioned in its current condition. I have full diagnostic scan data, photographs, and written communication from the visit available upon request.Read more
