January 2024, my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe entered limp mode and displayed code P1326—known to indicate engine bearing failure under Hyundai Recall 162. I took it to Terry Reid Hyundai (Cartersville, GA), paid $175 for diagnostics, and was told the vehicle “passed.” However, I was never given a bearing clearance test (BCT) result, and no VIN-tied data was submitted to Hyundai’s internal WebDCS
... system, as required by TSB 23-EM-001H. Later communication with Hyundai confirmed that all BCT results—pass or fail—must be submitted and tied to the VIN in WebDCS, yet Terry Reid produced no record. Instead, they provided a blank Multi-Point Inspection (MPI) sheet and handwritten notes—none of which constitute a BCT or fulfill Hyundai protocol. In April 2025, the engine failed catastrophically. Shottenkirk Hyundai performed a proper BCT, revealing cylinder #2 at 1.13mm (well beyond failure limit), and submitted both the test and an oil sample to the lab. The oil analysis showed no sludge, fuel, or coolant contamination, contradicting Veritas Global Protection’s and Hyundai’s claim of owner neglect. Despite clear lab evidence, Veritas denied my claim, falsely asserting: The sludge existed before contract purchase (no proof), No rod bearing clearance documentation was submitted (Shottenkirk did), A prior P0420 code related to the catalytic converter caused sludge (mechanically inaccurate). Hyundai’s consumer affairs rep later claimed internal records can’t be shared, that even more evidence wouldn’t matter, and that Hyundai branded the engine based on “exceptional neglect” solely due to one missing oil change receipt—despite a clean oil report and lack of dealership testing. She also confirmed Hyundai does not notify consumers when engines are branded. This pattern shows coordinated misrepresentation between Hyundai, Veritas, and Terry Reid Hyundai. They failed to follow protocol, withheld required data, falsely blamed the consumer, and denied a legitimate claim despite lab evidenceRead more

FORD Customer Satisfaction Program 14M02 - Transmission Control Module I purchased a 2015 Ford Focus for my son in 2021. I PAID WITH CASH. In June 2024, he moved from GA to UT for a job after he graduated college. 2 months later, his transmission went out with no notice. I paid to get the Focus towed to the Ed Kenley Ford Inc. Ford had a Customer Satisfaction Program that started in 2015. There a

The vehicle has experienced ongoing powertrain and electrical malfunctions over several months. The most common symptoms include being stuck in 4th gear (limp mode), complete loss of RPM and speedometer readings, and illumination of the check engine and ESC lights. Most recently, while traveling at approximately 10 mph, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of both acceleration and braking. The br
... ake pedal became stiff and unresponsive, and the car had to coast to a stop without driver control. This posed a serious safety risk to myself and nearby traffic. These issues have persisted across multiple service visits to Ricart Hyundai in Groveport, Ohio. That dealership has replaced the crankshaft position sensor three times, the powertrain control module (PCM), and the battery, but the underlying problems remain unresolved. A technician at the dealership was able to reproduce the stalling event during a test drive. Despite that, the dealership has refused to proceed with further diagnostics unless I pay for an oil change, even though previous inspections by their own staff found no visible leaks and confirmed the oil level was sufficient at the time. They have also revoked complimentary access to a loaner vehicle despite the unresolved and unsafe condition of the car. The vehicle remains available for inspection. The problem has been confirmed by a dealership, has occurred repeatedly, and continues to pose a safety concern. Warning lights and gauge failures typically appear when the issue occurs.Read more

I am writing what I think is a safety issue on a 2020 Nissan Rogue S. Left my house to go to a local store. When I park, I normally press the internal lock button and not the lock button on fob. I exited the vehicle and closed the door. Came back to vehicle, for some reason I just grabbed the door, not using the key fob, nor the ignition key to enter, and the driver side door opened. I questioned
... myself what just happened. I did not think much of it. Well I made another stop. I parked, pressed internal button, exited and closed door. I came back and pull driver side door handle and the door was unlocked again. So while parked I tried to diagnosis why the door was unlocked again. I used the internal lock button first, all but the driver side door lock, I used the lock button on the key fob, same thing. tried the ignition key, it would lock and unlock. So when I got home I tried to get it to work again, but to no avail. I tried looking in the vehicle setting, watch you tube videos etc. I even disconnected and reconnected the battery. Nothing worked, Got online and saw a lot of people were having the issue due to door lock actuator failing on Rogues. So I called my nearest Nissan dealership and told them my problem. They could get me in on July 17, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. and it would take several hours to diagnosis. The diagnosis was the actuator failed but power was going to it. To fix it it will cost $905. This is why I am writing you. I think it is a safety issue that needs to be address. If people don't know the vehicle is unlocked there could be some of type of thief or a person could be in your car when you returned. If the door was in the locked position while in the vehicle and you need to get out in an emergency you have to exit another door, which you might not have enough time to do so. If you are trying to enter the vehicle for an emergency and the door stays locked that a safety issue. This is a safety issue and should be recalled. Thank you for your time.Read more

While driving, the vehicle began running rough and stalled shortly after. It would not restart. The vehicle was towed to a dealership, where they diagnosed “excessive cylinder wall scoring” and no engine compression. This matches the symptoms described in Recall SC336, which affects piston oil rings and can lead to engine failure, stalling, or fire. The dealer confirmed the engine won’t tur

However, according to the recall remedy, the inspection and engine replacement should be performed free of charge if symptoms are present. The issue occurred without warning, leaving me without transportation and unable to safely pick up my child. I have opened a case with the manufacturer and am awaiting their review.Read more

I own a 2018 Ford Edge with the 2.0L EcoBoost engine. My engine recently failed and was diagnosed by a Ford dealership as suffering from coolant intrusion into the cylinders. This has resulted in engine misfires, overheating, coolant loss, and eventually a non-functional engine. This appears to be a widespread and well-documented issue across multiple Ford models and years, due to a design flaw i
... n the engine block or head gasket area that allows coolant to enter the combustion chamber. I was not notified of any recall or service bulletin, yet this issue has caused major financial and safety concerns. There is currently a class-action lawsuit related to this defect, and Ford has not issued any official remedy despite knowing of the issue for years. Vehicle: 2025 Buick Envista Incident Date: July 19, 2025 I purchased a brand-new 2025 Buick Envista in June, 2025 and owned it for just over a month when the brakes suddenly and completely failed while I was driving on the highway. As I exited the ramp and attempted to slow down, the brake pedal went soft and unresponsive. I had no ability to stop my vehicle, and in a moment of panic, I swerved i
... nto a curb to avoid hitting other cars or pedestrians. This caused damage to my rim and tire, but thankfully I avoided a major crash or injury. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership, where they diagnosed a master cylinder failure. The car is currently being repaired under warranty, but I no longer feel safe driving it. I suffer from anxiety and have been experiencing panic attacks and nightmares since the incident. I am deeply afraid of getting back into a car that nearly killed me. This is a brand-new vehicle and a brake failure of this magnitude should never happen — let alone within the first month of ownership. GM/Buick has offered to repair the car but not replace it, and I was informed I do not qualify for lemon law because this has only occurred once. That doesn’t change the fact that I experienced a catastrophic and life-threatening failure that could have resulted in serious injury or death. I am filing this report because I believe this is a manufacturing defect that poses a danger to others. A single failure of this kind is enough to destroy trust in the safety of a vehicle. If this happened to someone else, the outcome could be tragic. Please investigate this issue before someone loses their life.Read more

The battery was drained on several occasions starting just shy of a year of owning the vehicle, after recharging it would be fine and showed no signs that it needed replacing, until it was finally completely drained and wouldn’t start without being jumped in June 2025. The USM Configuration for the EEM recall was completed at this time along with a battery replacement. However, research suggests
... that issue could lead to draining of the battery, which the dealer denies was a possibility. These issues combined lead to all warning lights/lamps being produced on the display panel intermittently with a different message as to what the problem was each time. Turns out the only issue was the battery, according to the dealer. There have been several other issues I believe may be electrical related but unsure and when the taken to the dealership to have inspected was told the system just needed to be updated, however it has never fixed these issues, such as rearview backup camera screen black and not working intermittently and sometimes staying on while driving at higher speeds, screen in middle dash not responding to touch or buttons at random, doors automatically and unintentionally unlocked, doors not opening from the inside or outside on rare occasion, system in dash completely shutting down as if the vehicle was turned off and flashing before coming back up, vehicle not starting here and there while inside the vehicle or with key fob or app for remote start. All the random issues have been ongoing since the purchase of the vehicle, but told due to the dealer unable to recreate each problem, they are unable to actually identify what it is.Read more

On [XXX], my 2019 Chevrolet Traverse (VIN [XXX] ) experienced a complete transmission failure. The vehicle began to hesitate, jerk during acceleration, and then completely lost the ability to shift or drive. It had to be towed, and the dealership confirmed that the transmission must be replaced. This is extremely concerning because GM previously issued Recall 20V668000 involving missing bolts in
... the start-stop accumulator of the transmission, which can cause fluid leaks and loss of propulsion—a potential safety hazard. Although my VIN does not show this recall as active, the symptoms and failure seem directly related to this known defect. I am requesting NHTSA investigate whether this recall should be expanded or reopened to include more affected vehicles. In addition to the transmission failure, I have had to replace the purge solenoid valve three times due to persistent check engine lights and fuel system issues, which suggests deeper reliability issues with emissions and vapor management. Lastly, there is now a hole in the exhaust pipe, which is affecting performance and may pose a safety or environmental concern due to potential carbon monoxide exposure. These multiple powertrain and emissions-related failures within the same vehicle raise serious concerns about the long-term safety, reliability, and manufacturing quality of the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this model year and VIN range further. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more
