Hello, I received Recall Notice #24V031 from Ford Motor Company regarding a safety-related issue and was instructed to have the repair completed at a dealership. I’ve made multiple attempts to schedule the repair, but each time I was told the part is on backorder. I was advised to contact Ford directly, which I did, but was then redirected back to the dealership—who again stated the part is
... unavailable. To my surprise, the dealership even suggested that I try purchasing the part myself from Amazon. This situation is unacceptable. This is a safety recall, and I should not be responsible for sourcing or purchasing the part required for a manufacturer-initiated repair. I am concerned about the delay and the lack of accountability from both the dealership and Ford. I am requesting immediate assistance in resolving this issue and ensuring the recall repair is completed without further delays or unreasonable expectations placed on me as the customer. On July 9 while waiting at a red light car randomly turned off, had to put car in park and restart On July 19 while driving about 55mph on an extremely busy interstate highway car shut down completely. I could not restart or shut the car off, car was in drive and we had full power, no issue with battery, no warning signs, we were nearly killed by an 18-wheel truck traveling at normal high speed on
... this highway. We were eventually pushed off to the side where we sat for 2 hours until family members came. In the car were 2 seniors, 1 battling dementia and another anxiety and a young man who suffers from paranoia schizophrenia. Both trying to recover. In addition, Kia roadside assist wanted to tow us 2 hours past our dealership and home and charge us $661 when we were fully covered. Kia dealership said if they could not repeat the stall they could not really determine what is wrong. This is the 3rd serious issue I have had with this vehicle and each occurrence I was made to feel like the issues did not exist. 1 week into ownership I complained about a knocking noise, was told that the struts came from the factory loose, a month ago the differential gear box needed to be changed. I am now told that it could take a very long time to repair, and I would need to rent a car at my expense and if approved will be reimbursed at some point. I am terrified to drive my new car.Read more

This is the second time in 2 days!! While driving ~35MPH the truck experienced a harsh transmission shift followed by a sudden loss of acceleration and entered shutdown mode to protect the engine. The steering became stiff, all dashboard warning lights illuminated, and a message appeared on the driver display indicating a transmission issue and advising to drive with caution. This created an extre

Coolant intrusion at only 56,000 miles due to defective engine design. Engine replacement is the only remedy. This has been happening to cars with as little as 20,000 miles. Ford knows about it, there is a TSB that says the repair is "replace engine." At a cost of ~$10,000. Ford can't be allowed to sell cars with defective engines that fail at low mileage saddling consumers with astronomical repai

I have a 2017 Kia Sorento. On Sunday [XXX], I was driving on [XXX] in Oklahoma when I started hearing a weird knocking noise and was having difficulties accelerating. I was in the car with my mother and [XXX] son just between Guthrie and Edmond OK which is a very heavily trafficked area. My car suddenly shut off, I coasted to the side and put my hazards on. After 2 hours waiting for a tow truck to
... tow my vehicle back to my home town a mechanic informed us the engine was blown and could be apart of their lawsuit against engines. After reading many many other peoples encounter with Kia, Kia acknowledges issues with the engines and were placed in a lawsuit however they find every way out of responsibility for replacing the engines that are faulty. Not only did this put others in danger while I was driving UNDER the 75mph speed limit but it is July in Oklahoma and in the upper 90’s but feels like the hundreds placing myself, my mother and child at risk of heat exposure due to this faulty engine and having to wait 2 hours for a tow truck. I purchased the vehicle in 2020 during Covid when many business’ were shut down and more difficult to receive oil changes properly, and many people reported that since the engine was faulty it was eating away at the oil faster meaning oil did not go as far as it should. This company should replace ALL faulty engines REGARDLESS of their oil change reports and software updates as this is a massive safety feature and puts lives at risk on the road. No warning lights went off until the engine already shut down. They need to accept responsibility on these models as this is a major cost in a time many people cannot afford repairs for something that should be safe to drive. 9-SPEED TRANSMISSION:ZF9 HP-9, considered an "improved" transmission as compared to the previous 6-speed versions, prior to 2017. According to more than one FCA class action lawsuit, Fiat Chrysler knew the transmission had problems that could make FCA vehicles unsafe to drive. Problems: Lurching away from a stop, either when shifting into Drive or Reverse, then often accelerating into traffic, or
... into a crowded parking lot, or in an after-school setting, with children around. Rough shifting into Reverse or Drive from Park. Delayed shifting into Reverse or Drive, from Park. Intermittent "sounds" such as clunking or low-level grinding when attempting to shift from one gear to another. Refusal to downshift once a speed of 35-45 mph is reached, creating "gear-hunting", during which time the vehicle begins to accelerate, then decelerate, then accelerate again, often forcing abrupt, potentially-dangerous braking. Refusal to downshift allows the vehicle to continue unabated in gears 2-3, then 3-4. Intermittent refusal to upshift or downshift when engaging gears 6-9. At speeds between 50-70 mph, the vehicle will independently begin to slowly downshift, for no apparent reason, requiring a soft braking action, first, then sometimes followed by pulling over, coming to a complete stop, waiting then resuming. then getting back to speed. On one occasion, the transmission "slipped" into neutral at approximately 70 mph, causing the driver to pull off onto a major interstate's shoulder, shutting the engine off, then allowing the transmission to "cool" for several minutes, before starting the vehicle and continuing. This can be very dangerous if the transmission completely fails at 2 AM in the morning in a somewhat "dicey" area, anywhere, on any highway. All of the above complaints and transmission dysfunction/defects are sudden/acute and intermittent creating a sense of unnecessary anxiety and frustration when driving. As aresult, the owner has begun not allowing other driversRead more

Hi I have been driving for over 42 years & never had a tire valve fail on me. This past winter we drove cross country, form Pennsylvania to Arizona, pulling a 26' trailer. I am meticulous about monitoring my tire air pressure. We were heading back home in April & my TPMS system set off an alert that my driver's side rear tire was losing air. We pulled over & I changed out to our spare. I went to
... inflate the tire & discovered the leak was at the valve. The rubber had delaminated from the threaded tube. I had tire replaced just north of Nashville Tennessee. When we got home, I went to perform a tire rotation & discovered that the new tire(carried as a spare) had a bad valve. Firestone replaced that valve. 2 weeks ago, on my way home from a doctor's appointment, I had another valve fail. Again Firestone replaced it. My concern is 3 valves failing in 3 months time. Tires were purchased new 6/2024, valves were allegedly changed. 3 valves failures in 3 months from different Firestone locations separated by 1000 miles. I am looking to get a new set of tires before we go away again. I am leery of using Firestone, because of defective tire valves. Can you please look into this matter, and let me know the outcome ?Read more

While driving my 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, the car suddenly stalled on a city road. This occurred in a busy area with multiple stops and traffic signals. I was accelerating after a stop when the engine cut off abruptly, without any prior warning lights or error messages. I was able to coast to a safe stop, but the incident was frightening and dangerous. The vehicle was towed to a dealership and ins
... pected. They diagnosed the issue as a failure of the Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM). The part was not covered under my powertrain warranty despite being essential to the operation of the vehicle. The dealer confirmed this failure and replaced the part. The total repair cost was $592. When I attempted to check my eligibility for the NHTSA Campaign Number 23V013000 (regarding a fuel pump defect that may cause stalling for same 2022 Chevrolet Equinox), my VIN was reported as not currently eligible, even though the issue I experienced matches the recall description. The vehicle has since been repaired and has been operating fine, while I didn’t experience any stalling, I’ve noticed the gear shifts more closely now — they feel very quick or more noticeable than before, but no warning lights have appeared. I am filing this complaint to formally document the safety issue I experienced and to request a review of my VIN in light of the recall. A sudden stall on a city road puts drivers and passengers at significant risk, and I believe this is a serious safety concern that should be investigated.Read more

I believe this may be related to a prior recall involving the rear trunk harness,
... but when checking my VIN, no active recalls appear. Tesla service also reports no recalls on file. I am also receiving an intermittent fault message regarding the front passenger safety restraint system, stating that service is required. This is a serious concern, as a malfunctioning restraint system may fail to protect occupants in the event of a crash. Tesla has given me an estimate of $225.00 to address the safety restraint fault and $495.27 to repair the trunk/rear camera issues, with a total cost of $739.60 including taxes. I believe that safety-related repairs, especially those involving airbag and restraint systems, should be covered by the manufacturer and not passed on to the vehicle owner when not due to misuse or damage. The passenger restraint fault poses a direct safety hazard in a crash. The rear camera issue, while less severe, still impacts safety, as the camera provides a wider and clearer view than mirrors alone. I am asking NHTSA to review whether these issues are safety defects and whether they may be connected to known problems or recalls not applied to my vehicle.Read more

I am filing a complaint regarding the mishandling of a safety recall on my 2021 Ford Bronco, serviced through Legacy Ford in Corbin, KY. My vehicle currently has four active recalls. One, Campaign 25S01/25V025, involves corrosion and possible failure of the rear shock absorbers. Although this recall was issued in January 2025 and officially appears in my Ford account, parts were unavailable when
... I contacted Legacy Ford. Ford’s recall line assured me that I would receive a loaner vehicle and/or temporary fix, but the dealership denied this. In fact, a Legacy Ford rep told my husband to “go to the junkyard” for replacement shocks. I called Ford’s Executive Customer Service to escalate the situation. I was told the campaign was still considered an “Advanced Recall” (despite its official status) and that they could not override the dealership’s refusal to provide assistance. This created a deeply unsafe situation—my husband and I experienced two near-accidents due to rear suspension instability, while our toddler was in the vehicle. After waiting weeks with no resolution and no loaner, my husband had to repair the issue himself just to make the car drivable. We received no reimbursement or follow-up, and today, three of the four recalls remain open with no solution available. I am requesting a formal review of Legacy Ford’s actions, communication, and refusal to assist with a documented safety issue. I would also like to be contacted by someone at Ford with the authority to resolve this matter appropriately.Read more

The vehicle was kept for inspection, repair and I communicatied with Toyota. Vehicle Picked Up – July 16, 2025 I picked up my car from the Toyota dealership on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. I had not yet heard back from Toyota about coverage or resolution. I chose to wait for further communication regarding whether they would take responsibility for the malfunction. Toyota Corporate Follow-Up Call – July 23, 2025 On Tuesday, July 23, 2025, Toyota corporate called to inform me that the repair would not be covered, citing that the vehicle is out of warranty. What disturbed me most was that the representative claimed I had told Rebecca that I might have “bumped the gear,” which is completely false. This false statement was either a miscommunication or a lie — and it minimizes the seriousness of a potential safety defect. I bought my car and then I received a letter stating that it had 1 recall. I called KIA to schedule the recall and they said there are 4 in total. I told them to get them all done because the closes KIA is about 45 min from my house. I took it in KIA called me said everything was done that I could go pick up my car. Then on 7/19/25 I am driving in the highway and my car stops accelerating I pull o
... ver turn off my car let it cool off and turn it back on. It moves and the moment I try to accelerate it the car stops again. Thank God I was able to arrive to a gas satiation at an exit and not have someone crash into me. I tried jump starting it and nothing. I tried turning it on again and smoke stated coming out from the engine. I had to tow the car to my house. I called my mechanic to check it and 3 codes showed up (C1611, C1612, C1613). I called KIA to let them know the codes and that I needed them to tow my car to their dealership. They proceed to inform me that 1 of the recalls were not fixed (the fuse) had to ordered and was not done. No one had informed me that when I picked up my car. They are not wanting to give me a solution and I have called 3 days straight.Read more

The exterior passenger side mirror is manufactured with flat glass and not convex glass. The flat glass field of view is not nearly wide enough for this large truck. This flat glass combined with the width (distance from the driver's head/eyes to the passenger door mirror), height, and length of the truck creates a substantial risk for an accident while traveling on any roadway or even maneuvering
... while parking. It is impossible to adjust the flat glass mirror to bring a smaller car to the right side of this truck into the driver's field of view, and at the same time, approaching traffic from the right rear. This is particularly dangerous when needing to make a quick "glance and maneuver". GM Parts has advised there is no alternative replacement mirror for this truck. Replacing the flat glass mirror on the passenger side with the commonly used passenger convex mirror glass would correct this hazardous situation.Read more

The information screen, which displays the backup camera and everything else that the car does, from radio to climate control, glitches and then goes black. From what I’ve seen on the internet, this is a widespread problem and, since it deals with the backup camera, is directly safety related.

I am reporting a serious and recurring safety defect with my 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid, purchased new in January 2024. The vehicle has suffered from over 30–40 sudden hybrid system failures, including loss of acceleration, “Stop Vehicle” warnings, and check engine lights. These incidents happen without warning, including while driving at legal speeds (40–70 mph), on residential streets
... and highways. Most recently, the car failed twice in two days, while my teenage son was driving within all road laws, including once with a friend in the car. The vehicle simply stopped accelerating in the middle of traffic, endangering them and everyone around them. These failures have happened at legal speeds ranging from 40–70 mph, on both residential roads and highways. There is no advance warning, just abrupt loss of power and sudden warning messages. We’ve taken the vehicle to the South Charlotte Hyundai dealership multiple times. Each time, they either reset the check engine light or replaced indicators: but never addressed the root hybrid system failure. We filed a lemon law case, and Hyundai responded with only a $2,000 offer including legal fees, requiring us to keep the dangerous vehicle. We rejected the offer. These failures have occurred with children and passengers in the car. We have documented as many incidents as we could, including photos, service records, and communication with Hyundai. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I no longer feel safe driving or allowing my family to drive this car. This is a critical hybrid system failure that continues to place lives at risk. I believe this may be part of a wider pattern affecting Hyundai hybrid vehicles, and I am pleading with the NHTSA to open an investigation before someone is seriously injured or worse.Read more
