The auto/stop start system is malfunctioning. When I stop at a stop sign, or to turn left, the vehicle stops, but then does not turn on again when I press the gas pedal. Instead, I have to place the car in park and manually restart the engine. This has happened four times over a 2-month period. Sometimes it takes me 30 seconds to turn the car back on. This is harrowing when I am suddenly stuck in
... the middle of the road. I took my vehicle to the Ford Dealership after it happened three times. They had my vehicle for 3 weeks but could not find anything wrong, and the incident did not happen again. I’ve had my vehicle back for 6 days, and it happened again today at a stop sign. Suddenly, there was a message on my screen to place my car in park and restart the engine. There were many other cars waiting for me to turn.Read more

I am reporting significant premature rust on my 2020 Jeep wrangler. The rust is visible on all four doors and the hood. The vehicle has been properly maintained, regularly washed, and has not been exposed to unusual or extreme environmental conditions that would justify this level of corrosion. The rust appears along the bottom edges and seams of each door, as well as along the leading edge of th
... e hood. These areas show bubbling paint and visible oxidation, which is spreading. Given that this vehicle is only five years old, this level of corrosion is unacceptable and inconsistent with the quality and durability expected from Jeep. Warranty Considerations: This issue should be covered under Jeep’s 5-year/unlimited mile corrosion (perforation) warranty and/or the basic corrosion coverage, as the rust appears to originate from beneath the paint along factory seams — suggesting a defect in materials or workmanship, not owner neglect. Action Requested: I am requesting that Jeep/Stellantis authorize a warranty repair to remove the rust, treat the affected panels, and repaint to factory standards to prevent further deterioration. Given the extent of corrosion at this age, I believe this warrants prompt attention and resolution under warranty coverage. This has been a known issue on 2018 to current Jeep Wrangler and they have not resolved the issue. They keep selling Jeep Wrangler with this issue.Read more

a little over two weeks ago we were going to sidney to get groceries. it was hot that day so we turned the a/c on. fog started coming out of the vents, it looked like we turned on a fog machine! a few days later we were going to town, my daughter got in and the whole driver's side floor was full of water. there was so much of it we had to get the shop vac out to suck it up. I called the dealer whe
... re we purchased it from because it still under warranty. their shop guy was out for the week so they scheduled me an appt for the following week. by this time my speakers aren't working, my signal lights dont make any sounds when I use them and the floor is soaked again. on August 5th we took the car into high plains and left it. they said they worked on it for 4 hours and fixed the problem, some drain line was plugged with sludge and so the water knocked out a module or amp. I thot everything would be covered but then they said I'd have to pay because all of a sudden a mouse had causes that line to get plugged. I asked them for pictures because im turning it into my insurance company, and they said they would send them. they never have I requested the pictures 2x, once with Patrick the shop manager and then with Jeff presser, owner. Still today, nothing. Meanwhile yesterday here comes all the water on the floor again. We use this vehicle to haul my grandson to his therapies and medical appointments. he [XXX]. Now were worried that mold has started growing because even though were sucking up the water, the floor pad and carpet are still wet. I went online and have seen numerous people complaining about the same issue for years with these GMC Terrains, why hasnt there been a recall or national warning on this faulty problem? This has been an on-going problem since the beginning of the year. For at least the past 7000 miles of driving, my 2019 Honda Pilot has been juttering (Honda Mechanic's Term-not mine). Pursuant to a Honda Technical Service Bulletin on this issue, I paid $1967.06 to change the fuel injectors and spark plugs in the vehicle. This did NOT resolve the problem. Anthony Hart, Customer Complaint Mana
... ger from Honda Headquarters in Torrance, CA, told me I had to take the vehicle to the local Honda Service Department and pay the $106.99 it charged for an analysis and recommendation for the repair. I did that. The mechanic acknowledged the problem and suggested to flush the transmission fluid and to perform a throttle body service with re-learn at a cost of $901.08. This appeared to be more of an "upcharge for service" rather than a resolution for the repair. Also, I was dealing with Anthony who insisted upon the evaluation in order for him to authorize some compensation for such. Therefore, I declined the service pending Anthony's response. Each time I get to speak with Mr. Hart, it is almost as if I am a first time contact. I have to reiterate that I am now into the repairs to this vehicle in the amount of $2074.05 with an additional suggested item of $901.08. The costs would therefore total $2975.13 WITH NO GUARANTEE THAT THE ISSUE WILL BE RESOLVED! It is unconscionable that Honda recognizes the issue being so common in my car that it has issued a Technical Service Bulletin; however, the suggested repair DOES NOT WORK. Honda has not issued a recall on this issue; nor has it apparently been willing to reimburse me for the repairs thus far. We are afraid to take the vehicle on long trips for fear of being stranded somewhere.Read more

Subject: Urgent Safety & Warranty Concern – 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport (TSB #21-01-002H) Dear Hyundai Customer Care and NHTSA, I am reporting a serious safety and warranty concern regarding my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport (VIN: [XXX] , mileage:97,320). The vehicle is exhibiting excessive oil consumption after an initial Consumption test burning 3quarts of oil in 725 miles as well as causing dam
... age to the intake manifold requiring it to be repaired and is consistent with the connecting rod bearing defect covered under Hyundai TSB #21-01-002H. This TSB extends engine coverage to 10 years/120,000 miles for precisely this issue. Despite this, my authorized dealer, Premier Hyundai of Moreno Valley has refused to take immediate corrective action and is requiring me to drive an additional 1,000 miles before performing the repair — a delay that increases the risk of catastrophic engine failure and endangers vehicle occupants and other motorists. Key points: This is a documented defect with a known history of sudden engine failure. TSB coverage and my warranty should apply immediately, without dangerous delay. The dealership’s requirement to continue driving the vehicle is unreasonable and unsafe. I am requesting: Immediate authorization for the engine diagnostic and replacement under TSB #21-01-002H. Confirmation from Hyundai that I am not required to continue operating a defective engine to “prove” the defect. NHTSA to log this complaint as part of the ongoing safety concerns regarding Hyundai Theta II engines. Please respond within 5 business days with next steps. I am prepared to provide full maintenance history, documentation, and dealership correspondence. Q) What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? A) Refrigerant gas(R-1234yf) leak in the evaporator core. If the inspection request is made after the repair, no. It is suspected that there is a inherent defect in the evaporator core. Possibly related to interaction between the R-1234yf refrigerant and the material of the evaporator core. Q) Ho
... w was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? A) The hole caused by this defect leaks refrigerant gas into the cabin, which in turn exposes drivers and passengers to a range of harmful health effects, including respiratory issues, skin irritation, nausea, neurological symptoms, and cardiovascular problems. The driver/passengers can even sense it after the recharge of the refrigerant gas(R-1234yf). Located behind the dashboard, manufacturer hinders users from being able to take appropriate and timely counter measures to protect them against such exposure. There is no warning system in placed either. Q) Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? A) BMW service center confirmed the leak in the evaporator core using a Nitrogen Gas test. Q) Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? A) No. Q) Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? A) No. If did, I could have maintained the system and avoid myself and passengers from being exposed to the safety risks, especially for a long-distance driving. The AC issue involving replacement of evaporator core in BMW 5 Series and etc, is not mere an issue of inconvenience but rather pose long term health safety issue. People drive cars for a long period of time, sometimes hours and hours. Even if not all of the leaked refrigerant gas come into the cabin, driver and passengers are still exposed to the leaked gas.Read more

Category: Power Train -> Automatic Transmission Subject: 2020 Lincoln Navigator – Repeated Missed Warranty Repairs – Transmission Neutral-Out & Violent Downshift at Highway Speed Description: On [XXX], while traveling at approximately 70 mph on [XXX], my 2020 Lincoln Navigator suddenly downshifted, free-wheeled into neutral, then violently re-engaged into a lower gear, chirping the rear tire
... s and nearly causing a collision. The vehicle displayed a "Shift System Fault" warning. This defect matches TSB 23-2120 (momentary neutral-out) and TSB 24-2101 (harsh/delayed engagement) for the Ford/Lincoln 10R80 transmission used in the Navigator. TSB 23-2123 (harsh/delayed engagement/shift) also applies to my model year and transmission. I purchased this vehicle in December 2023 from Performance Lexus RiverCenter (Covington, KY) with the original Lincoln 6-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty still in effect. According to Carfax, the vehicle was owned by Airport Ford, a Ford/Lincoln dealer, for six months prior. No transmission-related repairs were performed during that period despite applicable TSBs. In March 2024, I reported abnormal shifting to Lincoln of Cincinnati. The concern was dismissed without inspection or repair, even though the TSBs applied to my VIN at that time. The [XXX] incident is the direct result of two separate failures by Lincoln/Ford dealerships to act on a known defect while the vehicle was under warranty. This is related to a repeat failure of recalls 121/197 of the 2011 Hyundai Veracruz. Oil leaks down from the top valve gasket onto the alternator causing a random and erratic electrical disturbance and failure that can happen at any time causing serious risk of safety. With the alternator being damaged in this form also put other potential electrical systems at risk of damage. This is either the 3
... rd or 4th time of repeat failure. Previous time has damaged the battery. Luckily this time it went out in a parking lot just before was going to drive and had complete loss of power. Vehicle had to be towed into dealer service center. Upon inspection the alternator and valve cover gasket had to be replaced out of pocket as service center claims these are not covered. Tried to escalate the issue to Hyundai Motor Corporation to be reimbursed and was given a case manager. After a couple days I was told the original 121 recall is to old and not covered under warranty anymore and repairs were already made. I explained that recall 197 is a continuation of the previous 121 and she had to check back with the service center. A couple days later she reports back that they still will not cover the costs as the repairs have already been done before in the past. This time when received vehicle back from service center turns out the steering wheel tilt and telescoping module no longer functions. Costs of Alternator $1832.99 Costs of Valve Cover Gasket $313.31 Totaling $2146.30 that is suppose to be covered due to the recalls. Not repaired because of hassle between service center and Hyundai Motorcorp refusal to reimburse anything is the Steering Wheel Tilt/Telescoping module quoted at $1096.06 Included photo is taken of the alternator prior to being towed and clearly shows the over time build up of dripping oil all over it.Read more

... uto transmission 2nd to 3rd hard shift and 4th to 3rd hard shift. Putting stress on other components can break mounts, the transmission, axles, ect. could also launch the car into the car in front of you, in heavy (slow bumper to bumper) traffic. Wasted my own money and time draining and filling 5 quarts of honda 2.0 transmission fluid. (Also replaced the trans filter behind the warmer housing) Did not fix the issue. Contacted American Honda and they said It's out of warranty and I need to pay for diagnostic and repairs. (I just bought the car in 2023 at 45k miles. Previous owner must of felt it and should of did something while under warranty.) Honda know this issue from the beginning and hiding the issue to save money. Check the Accord forums online. It's most of us if not all the 18-20 10 speed models. Vehicle is 2018 Accord 2.0 10 speed 50k miles. Plus the normal Phantom braking and lane departure which will automatically steer you off the road, so you have to fight the steering wheel.Read more

The front axel or CV joints are making a metallic grinding and clacking sound when turning, especially when turning up curvy roads with a steep incline. Further, there is a loud clacking sound (from the same area, under the hood) when the vehicle is on the highway at speeds greater than 55 mph. This issue started around 2,000 miles but has increased to become a signficant disruption now at 9,500 m

On August 3, 2025, my wife and I came home from dinner and I couldn’t get out of the driver’s side door. I took it to Naples Audi where I bought the car and delt with its Assistant Service Manager and Service Advisor. Audi estimated the repair to be over $1,300. I called Audi USA Regional Customer Service and Mike B opened a Case 06968056 for me. He got back to me today, August 7, and sai
... d Audi Corporate and Naples Audi will still make me pay $800 to do the repair. I'm submitting this claim because an inoperable door handle is a huge safety problem and liability to any Audi owner. The parts to repair cost $500, which includes a part to connect the interior handle to the door latch that opens the door, and 4 bolts! I found out the interior part of the door handle is made of plastic – unbelievably not metal. Audit Assistant Service Manager told me over time, especially in the southwest Florida heat, the plastic can become brittle and crack off the latch. One would think Audi Engineers would know to use metal versus plastic for this critical part that enable the door to open. Audi should fully cover the cost to fix my car due to “engineering mistake.” The part wasn’t broken based on anything I, or any other consumer, could do to provide service maintenance to keep this plastic part from cracking. This breakdown of the driver’s side door not being able to let me out, is a huge safety problem for anyone driving this car.Read more

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Hyundai Motor America and the Freehold Hyundai dealership located in New Jersey, regarding the ongoing engine oil consumption issues in my Hyundai Sonata. I purchased a 2019 Hyundai Sonata and its now 90,000 miles, I began noticing extreme oil loss, far more than a quart per thousand miles, with no visible leaks, no smoke, and no warning lights. I b
... rought the vehicle to Freehold Hyundai for an evaluation, and they performed an oil consumption test, confirming the issue. They submitted a goodwill repair request to Hyundai Corporate, which was denied solely on the basis that I am the second owner, and the powertrain warranty does not transfer. The dealership offered a $200 PCV valve replacement (a part that costs $6–$20), but even their staff said it likely won’t resolve the issue. Their proposed solution is a full engine replacement costing $8,000 or more, which I cannot afford. I believe this is part of a broader manufacturing defect, and Hyundai should take accountability for the engine failure, especially considering similar complaints from Sonata and Elantra owners nationwide. TSBs (Technical Service Bulletins) have been issued on related issues. A car engine should not fail before 100,000 miles under normal use, regardless of ownership transfer. This issue has been the subject of TSB 20-01-004H, which addresses excessive oil consumption due to piston ring Hyundai’s refusal to provide any real assistance or remedy — and the dismissive conduct by dealership management — has left me feeling discriminated against, frustrated, and financially trapped. I request the BBB’s help in facilitating a fair resolution, either through: A warranty repair or subsidized engine repair Coverage under goodwill or defect-related remedy Reimbursement or alternative assistance Please find all supporting documentation attached, including my Hyundai case number dealer correspondence, and oil test results.Read more

The seat belt anchor for the lap belt has separated from the anchor point. It appears the cable is pulling apart as can be seen in photos I will be attaching. This is a huge safety concern however Rivian is telling us this is from a driver sitting on the seat belt. I am denying this accusation because we have cab facing cameras that detect this kind of behavior.
